Haug Johansson, Trude, Kaliff, Emma, Lundström, Malin January 2008 (has links)

Patienternas upplevelser av ronden på en kirurgisk akutvårdsavdelning / The Patients’ Experiences of theRound at a Surgical EmergencyWard

Lastra, Åsa January 2008 (has links)
Round take place daily and the meeting between patient, doctors and other staff take place briefly and decisions are taken rapidly. The purpose was to examine the patient's experience of rounds on a surgical emergency ward. A qualitative and the phenomenon illogical approach were chosen with the interviews. After the analysis of the 11 patients' experiences of rounds show three categories and related subcategories which are labelled as time and room such as diversity, time and posting importance. Further more interaction such as importance of treatment, the space and experience and also participation such as the importance of information, self-determination and sense of support. The results show that the participants thought that there were various participants involved in the rounds, the meetings were short and brief, and the participants' presence in the room and the given information affected their experiences. However, a good treatment from the staff, sense of participation, a sense of support, a sense of confidence and previous experience gave participants positive experiences.</p>

Livet efter organtransplantation : En litteraturbaserad studie om patienters upplevelser / Life after organ transplantation : A literature-based study about patient´s experiences

Antonsson, Lisa, Gustavsson, Carolina January 2015 (has links)
Background: For patients with end-stage organ failure receiving an organ is lifesaving. To be transplanted means a big change and adjustment in life with lifelong medication. The ambition for these patients is to go back and live as normal of life as possible. Aim: The aim of this study was to describe patients experiences of being organ transplanted. Method: The method used was a literature-based study based on qualitative scientific articles. A total of 9articles were analyzed with a qualitative content analysis. Result: After analysis 5 categories emerged; indebted, limitations in daily life, fear of organ rejection, concerns about medicine and a positive attitude to life. It showed that patient´s experiences of being organ transplanted are individual and unique. Some experiences are harder to deal with than others. Conclusion: Patients describe both negative as well as positive experiences of being transplanted. They express a need for more knowledge about their condition and a need that health care staff enhance their knowledge and understanding about their unique situation.

Assessing the Impact of Wi-Fi Radio Frequency Interference on Mobile Application Quality of Experience

Chow, Brennen 21 December 2015 (has links)
This thesis assesses the impact of Wi-Fi radio frequency interference (RFI) on mobile application quality of experience (QoE). Wi-Fi is a wireless radio network for transferring data between two end points and is based on the IEEE 802.11 standards and operates in the unlicensed 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz radio frequency bands. This thesis explores the QoE of mobile applications when considering the impact of RFI caused by Wi-Fi access points (WAPs) within a campus Wi-Fi network. The research was conducted to assess the effect of RFI on mobile application network performance metrics. This is evaluated by collecting broadcasted WAPs within a campus network, assessing the experienced RFI, and evaluating the mobile application QoE at specific locations to assess the impact of the experienced interference. / Graduate

Vandra i Alingsås : Potentialen för nya vandringsleder nära Alingsås tätort

Fröjmark, Simon January 2015 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to examine the possibilities of creating a trail near the town of Alingsås in southern sweden, preferably a round trip connecting all the 5 nature reserves that lies near town. The aim was to investigate the potential of an easily passable trail using mainly existing roads and trails, that at the same time, would pass many interesting nature areas around the town that could give the visitor nature experiences. Another aim was also to examine if there was any area fitting to create a shorter trail, about 10 kilometres long.   The passability of trails connecting some of 42 pre-marked areas was studied together with examination of the nature types and the experience these gave in terms of natural and cultural experiences.   The results showed that many trails east of the town was hard to pass and gave a low amount of experiences due to heavy forestry. But a few areas contained very high nature and culture experiences instead. Some passages through town gave good experiences but passages through industrial areas was also needed. Areas with good experiences was found south and southwest of the town.   A proposal of a 35 kilometre trail connecting the 5 nature reserves was made, outruling some of the studied areas, but still having areas with good experiences. Passability studies showed that it was mostly easy to walk. Areas southwest of Alingsås was recommended for a shorter trail.

Rigorous methods for the analysis, reporting and evaluation of ESM style data

Carter, Lesley-Anne January 2016 (has links)
Experience sampling methodology (ESM) is a real-time data capture method that can be used to monitor symptoms and behaviours as they occur during everyday life. With measures completed multiple times a day, over several days, this intensive longitudinal data collection method results in multilevel data with observations nested within days, nested within subjects. The aim of this thesis was to investigate the optimal use of multilevel models for ESM in the design, reporting and analysis of ESM data, and apply these models to a study in people with psychosis. A methodological systematic review was conducted to identify design, analysis and statistical reporting practices in current ESM studies. Seventy four studies from 2012 were reviewed, and together with the analysis of a motivating example, four significant areas of interest were identified: power and sample size, missing data, momentary variation and predicting momentary change. Appropriate multilevel methods were sought for each of these areas, and were evaluated in the three-level context of ESM.Missing data was found to be both underreported and rarely considered when choosing analysis methods in practice. This work has introduced a more detailed understanding of nonresponse in ESM studies and has discussed appropriate statistical methods in the presence of missing data. This thesis has extended two-level statistical methodology for data analysis to accommodate the three-level structure of ESM. Novel applications of time trends have been developed, were time can be measured at two separate levels. The suitability of predicting momentary change in ESM data has been questioned; it is argued that the first-difference and joint modelling methods that are claimed in the literature to remove bias possibly induce more in this context. Finally, Monte Carlo simulations were shown to be a flexible option for estimating empirical power under varying sample sizes at levels 3, 2 and 1, with recommendations made for conservative power estimates when a priori parameter estimates are unknown. In summary, this work demonstrates how multilevel models can be used to examine the rich data structure of ESM and fully utilize the variation in measures captured at all levels.
