Reporting rape, is it a matter of course? : A qualitative study about counselors working in health care facilities and their perception of the factors that determine whether or not women exposed to rape police report the incident.

Eriksson, Agnes, Nevala, Hannele January 2017 (has links)
The aim of this study was to examine counselors working in health care facilities and their perception of the factors that determine whether or not women exposed to rape police report the incident. The result is based on five qualitative interviews with counselors who in their work meet female rape survivors. Throughout our research process we have been inspired by the hermeneutic method. The analysis was based upon the general system theory and the ecological system theory. The factors we found for reporting rape were divided into micro- meso and macro level. The result of this study shows that it is not possible to distinguish specific factors for if female rape survivors report the rape to the police or not. It is rather a multiple number of contributive factors that affect the women in different ways. In the end it is the woman who makes the final decision whether she will report the rape or not, but never without being affected by her closest surroundings. Furthermore the result shows more factors not to report to the police than doing so, this result along with the verified estimated number of unknown cases in terms of rape can be interpreted as meaning that the obvious norm in Sweden that a crime is supposed to be reported to the police is not given when it comes to reporting rape.

Ed, Max January 2017 (has links)
This study has investigated factors that contribute to the rise of accidents in the Swedish Armed Forces. Through investigation of six accident reports human factors have been identified, classi-fied and compiled. The aim has been to seek answers to the question: Which human factors cause accidents in the Swedish Armed Forces' activities at sea? In the context of a case study the content of six accident reports, which were linked to the Swedish Armed Forces, was analysed. Documentary research was used to collect data. The analysis of collected accident reports was carried out with content analysis. A total of 134 human factors were identified in this study, compiled from 31 unique human factors. The results drawn from studying the survey concluded that human factors which appear most frequently in the accident reports are routine deviation, judgment, knowledge, sudden event development and communica-tion/information. The results also show that of all the 31 units of human factors identified, no single factor is represented in all accident reports. However, the human factors routine deviation, judgment, communication/information, education, job description and safeguard were repre-sented in five of six reports.

Spiritualita a resilience / Spirituality and resilience

Šolcová, Ludmila January 2021 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with the psychological construct of resilience and spirituality. These are phenomena with overlaps in practice (psychotherapy, prevention), which have recently been widely researched not only in psychology. In the theoretical part we present spirituality and resilience from the point of view of psychology and we also deal with their connection in psychological research. The main goal of the empirical part is the research verification of the relationship between spirituality and resilience. We also dealt with the structure of this relationship, looking for possible negative correlations within these two phenomena. Our sample consisted of 407 respondents aged from 18 to 30 years. Resilience data were obtained on-line using the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale method, spirituality data using the Czech method of the Prague Spirituality Questionnaire. Keywords resilience, spirituality, protective factor, adversity

Vyhledávání vazebních míst transkripčních faktorů / Detection of Transcription Factor Binding Sites

Hlávka, Ondřej January 2013 (has links)
Nowadays, it is very important to study gene expression mechanism in molecular biology. Gene expression is also regulated by sequence specific transcription factors which binds to regulatory regions of the genes. Searching for this specific sequences can be very problematic because transcription factor binding sites can be very degenerative. There are several possible methods that can be aplied to this problem. First part of this paper describes few algorithms for transcription binding sites search. Second part contains design and implementation of algorithm for searching binding sites of transcription factor p53.
