A frase inicial do titulo Desconstruindo Amélia
perspectivas feministas. Neste ponto, a Teologia Feminista contribuiu solidamente.
This research is based on the application of Music Therapy to treat the emotional
damage resulting from domestic violence, based on theories, concepts and methods
of Feminist Theology. The opening sentence of the title Deconstructing Amelia
was inspired by the song of the same name, composed by Pitty and Martin (2008).
Many women who have suffered domestic violence go through this process of
deconstructing their Amelias interiors, then to rise again as free women, selfconfident,
independent, strong and empowered in all her femininity to be just women,
without any label or stereotype. To account for the proposed theme for this
dissertation was made a bibliographical research and social research. In terms of
methodology, the research can be defined as an action research of a qualitative
nature, approved by the Ethics Committee of the Colleges EST, as required by
resolution 196/96 of the National Health Council. Its main objective was to investigate
how Music Therapy and Feminist Theology can reframe the emotional damage
resulting from domestic violence. Specifically, we sought to investigate the extent to
which funds Music Therapy are effective to minimize or cure depression and anxiety
states of women in situations of domestic violence, as well as investigate the extent
to which Music Therapy can be applied to raise self-esteem and fostering the
autonomy and re-socialization of the target population of this research. Finally, we
sought to understand the religious discourse and its relation to the behavior of
women who experienced domestic violence. It was found that Music Therapy can be
an effective tool to treat the emotional damage in women due to domestic violence.
The particularity of music as nonverbal language assists a lot in the process,
because the trauma in an unconscious way. However, to make use of Music Therapy
as a tool for emotional rehabilitation of women who have experienced domestic
violence, you should always be with a look directed to gender issues, making it a
Music Therapy with feminist perspectives. At this point, Feminist Theology
contributed solidly. It was also concluded that participants who receive spiritual
advice obtained only negative or omission of his Church, had worse outcomes than
participants who received support from their spiritual leaders or just did not look for
any Church.

The Lutheran churches in Latin America and the Caribbean have been participating
since 2007 of the Sustainability Program. This Program was a result of the initiative
of the Department of Mission and Development of the Lutheran World Federation
with the main goal at together reflecting about their own sustainability. This paper
proposes to use hermeneutical keys based on Feminist Liberation Theology to reflect
about new ecclesiastical models and new models of leadership. The main argument
is that using Feminist Liberation Theology as the lenses for the analysis of the
leadership of those churches allows envisioning new ways of interpreting
ecclesiastical structures that are more participatory and inclusive. Feminist Theology
of Liberation proposes the hermeneutical spiral as method for analysis and
challenges to look at the ecclesiastical models in dialog with the daily experiences of
women and other excluded groups. It calls to understand the church as a relational
structure, as a concentric spiral, always open, interconnected with all things.

The main goal of this dissertation is to consider the pedagogical, methodological and
hermeneutical implications of the reading of the Bible, in a popular and feminist perspective.
In the first two chapters are presented some implications involved in this reading. Concerning
the pedagogical implications we came back to some ideas on liberating education of Paulo
Freire‟s work Pedagogy of the oppressed. Concerning the methodological implications we
highlighted in the popular reading of the Bible as a reference for true popular Bible study
process, starting from a liberating and empowering pedagogy. Concerning the hermeneutical
implications, it was proposed a dialogue with the critical feminist liberation hermeneutics,
developed by Elisabeth S. Fiorenza, because of her political and ethical commitment with
women while historical subjects.
In the third chapter are presented a report of the Flor de Manacá group experience, and
the reflection conducted by that group on the text of the Gospel of John 8.1-12. It aimed not
only to show the popular methodology and feminist reading of the Bible, but also the whole
process of the group as a subject of the reading of the Bible in the context of Brazilian
Northeastern culture. This experience and research reveal the importance of the groups and of
the community in a process of a new pedagogy for biblical studies, committed to a reading of
the Bible that is liberating and empowering and, at the same time, sensible to the cultural
context in which it is inserted.

Fear of freedom : a feminist theological perspective on the book of RevelationMcLachlan, Christine 11 September 2012 (has links)
M.A. / The main aim of the research was to make the book of Revelation, often considered as a marginal book within the context of the Christian Bible, more accessible for contemporary readers. The study's first focus is on the contextualization of the creation of this book. The most accepted time frame in which this text was written is around 95-96 AD. The social-historical context in those years was investigated and possible crisis and conflict elements identified. Hypotheses about authorship was developed concluding that Revelation was probably written by a Jew who was part of an itinerant group which was viewed as apocalyptic prophets. The structure of the book of Revelation was investigated, as it is essential for the analysis of the contents. It was found that scholarship has not yet reach consensus of the book of Revelation. Elisabeth Schussler Fiorenza nonetheless found general approval among scholars and thus was this chiastic surface structure applied on the book of Revelation. Other models of interpretation were investigated as well as key terminology. The focus then moved to feminist theology. It's origins, key terminology, important contributors and its contributions in the world were investigated. A couple of the new feminist hermeneutical and exegetical models that have been developed during the last decade were research concentrating especially on the twelve tenets developed from the notion of Denise Carmody's pillars of feminist theology. Revelation is interpreted by using these twelve tenets namely the quest for truth, meaning, justice, equality, love, hope, beauty, identity, empowerment, unity, happiness/fulfilment and freedom. Finally, this analysis is briefly evaluated in order to establish if the main aims namely: to arrive at a fresh interpretation of Revelation, making the book of Revelation more accessible to its readers, evaluating the book's relevance for today and developing the means to lead more believers or other readers from fear to freedom, was accomplished. The study concluded that this method had the potential to contribute towards a fresh interpretation of the apocalypse, and the identification of a meaningful message in the narrative. However, using this method exclusively in the exegetical analysis of the book of Revelation, tended to narrow the focus down to only a limited aspect of this rich and varied text. The findings of this research project suggested that, with further refinement, the Carmody-derived research process could fruitfully be used in conjunction with other feminist hermeneutical and exegetical models. Integrated in this manner, it has the potential to contribute towards a change in interpretive perspective and practice.
