The Feasibility and Organizational Procedures for Establishing a Children's Theatre in the Fort Worth, Texas, Metropolitan Area

Pennington, R. Boyce 08 1900 (has links)
This study seeks to determine the values of and the procedures for establishing a children's theatre activity in the Fort Worth, Texas, metropolitan area. This study has a twofold purpose. The first is to apply the values of children's theatre to children in the Fort Worth metropolitan area. The second purpose is to develop a feasible plan for organizing a workable theatre for children. Chapter II is a review of related literature and is divided into two parts. A history of the children's theatre movement in the United States was presented to substantiate general observations of the values of children's theatre. The final part of Chapter II presents several outstanding children's theatre groups and a brief synopsis of their organization. This is followed by specific organizational needs and suggestions. The final portion of this study presents a feasible organizational plan for the establishment of a children's theatre in this metropolitan area. The plan is flexible enough that other areas could adapt it to their own needs and desires.

Critical Review Of Elementary School Design

Cole, Amy 01 January 2011 (has links) (PDF)
This compilation is an in depth analysis of two elementary schools: CandorElementary School located in Candor, New York and Fort River Elementary School located in Amherst, Massachusetts. These two schools show the similarities and differences between a 'factory model' or double loaded corridor with an open plan school converted into individual classrooms. These schools are analyzed both at the macro (entire school building) and at the micro (individual classroom) level. To optimally design an elementary school, the designer needs to be thoroughly aware of the past and current conditions. This understanding will bridge the gap between the teaching methodologies and the teaching environment.

Revised History of Fort Watauga.

Compton, Brian Patrick 07 May 2005 (has links) (PDF)
The history of the Revolutionary War Fort Watauga located in present day Elizabethton, TN has yet to be completed. The critique of several Tennessee historians including J. G. M. Ramsey, Lyman C. Draper, Samuel Cole Williams, and others uncovered discrepancies and errors in Fort Watauga’s written history. These problems forced a rethinking of the fort’s actual location, which raised questions as to the reliability of the archaeological excavation in 1974 as well as to the historians who wrote about the fort during the last 200+ years. Evidence found pointed to new accounts of the fort’s history never before published as well as possible alternate locations of the original fort. An updated version of Fort Watauga’s history was included to serve as a new starting point for future historians and students interested in the Fort Watauga’s history. The history of Sutter's Fort, 1839-1931

Gwinn, Herbert D. 01 January 1931 (has links) (PDF)
Of all the stories and articles written about Captain J.A. Sutter in recent years, not one of them has adequately covered the history of his famous Fort. To the layman the fort itself may seem unimportant, but when we stop to consider that it was an outpost of civilization penetrating the wilderness of Central California, offering shelter to those who pioneered before us; we must confess that its existence was necessary to protect and usher into full City-hood, the infant Sacramento, then known as New Helvetia.

Monthly Average Prices of Cattle at Fort Worth, 1951-1952, With Some Consideration of Factors Involved in the 1952 Price Drop

Baker, Henry Grady 06 1900 (has links)
This report consists of a presentation of prices paid for the various classifications and grades of cattle sold in the Fort Worth Livestock Market during 1952; a comparison of 1951-1952 prices showing a sharp decline in the price of all grades and classifications which began in June of 1952; and an examination of some of the major factors contributing to the decline in cattle prices as reflected in the Livestock Market, Fort Worth, Texas. From a study of cattle prices that prevailed in the Fort Worth market during 1951 and 1952, and a consideration of some of the factors contributing thereto, the following conclusions are drawn: First, prices of all grades of cattle soared to unusually high levels during 1951, thereby accentuating the drop in price which occurred in the latter part of 1952. Second, the withholding of cattle from slaughter, during a cattle build-up process, rather than a scarcity of cattle in this country was primarily responsible for extremely high prices in 1951. Third, cattle production in this country has progressed in cycles of eight to ten years duration of each; the period under consideration was on the build-up side of the present cycle which began in 1949; and prices for 1951 and 1952 were definitely affected by cyclical influences.
