The History and Development of Casa Mañana Musicals, 1958-1980

Jones, Jan Lynn 05 1900 (has links)
The investigation is a historical survey tracing the development of Casa Mañana Musicals, Inc., Fort Worth, Texas, from its experimental beginning in 1958 as the first permanent musical arena theatre in the United States, through twenty-three subsequent seasons. The study includes a chapter on the origins of theatre and the influences behind its concept dating back to the 1936 Casa Mañana produced by Billy Rose. Subsequent chapters deal with the theatre's seasons and its struggle to gain acceptance. The theatre's more recent financial and labor problems are also considered. Major sources include such unpublished data as production and financial records of the theatre, contracts, correspondence, minutes of the board of directors, and interviews. Published sources include accounts in newspapers and periodicals.

The Growth and Development of the Recreation Program of Fort Worth, Texas as a Related Factor to the Growth of the City from 1888 to 1947

Vick, Harold V. 08 1900 (has links)
This study was made to show the relationship of the growth and development of the city, and the park system to the recreation movement of Fort Worth, Texas from 1873-1947. This information was gathered from the following sources: annexation files of the city secretary and city engineer, annual reports of the city of Fort Worth, Texas, the charter of the city of Fort Worth, Texas, the History of Fort Worth Park system, the minutes of Public Recreation Board, and the personnel of city officials.

The Influence of Al Panzera Upon Sports Photography at Dallas-Fort Worth Metropolitan Newspapers

Wilhite, Ben W. 08 1900 (has links)
This problem's investigation deals with the influence of sports photographer Al Panzera upon staff photographers at four major metropolitan newspapers in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Information was gathered through interviews, periodicals, and the pages of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. The study found Panzera to be influential in varying degrees upon all photographers interviewed. He proved most influential with beginners, especially in the 1940's and 1950's. He influenced advanced photographers to a limited extent. Areas of influence included his techniques, abilities, personality, and tenure with Star-Telegram.

A Study and Evaluation of the Lighting in the Industrial Arts Shops of the Fort Worth Public Schools

King, Marvin D. 02 1900 (has links)
There are many factors to be considered when studying the lighting of industrial arts shops. Adequate light is one of the most important factors, and by adequate lighting is meant light that is sufficient in quantity and quality. Other factors to be considered include the location of the shops in the building, the windows, interior painting, width, and length, and the ceiling height of the shoprooms. The study herein is directed toward better lighting in the industrial arts shops for more efficient work.

A Comparative Sociometric Ethnological Study

McElroy, A. L., Jr. 06 1900 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to compare sociometric data obtained from Negro and white pupils in fourth, fifth, and sixth grade public school classrooms in Fort Worth, Texas. An attempt will be made to determine, as nearly as possible with the methods available and other limitations of this study, to what degree socialization is affected by racial factors in groups which are comparable in terms of socio-economic status.

Beaudoin, Félix January 2011 (has links)

Burel, Benjamin January 2015 (has links)

The Angoff Method and Rater Analysis: Enhancing Cutoff Score Reliability and Accuracy

Baker, Charles E., 1957- 12 1900 (has links)
At times called a philosophy and other times called a process, cutting score methodology is an issue routinely encountered by Industrial/Organizational (I/0) psychologists. Published literature on cutting score methodology appears much more frequently in academic settings than it does in personnel settings where the potential for lawsuits typically occurs more often. With the passage of the 1991 Civil Rights Act, it is no longer legal to use within-group scoring. It has now become necessary for personnel psychologists to develop more acceptable selection methods that fall within established guidelines. Designating cutoff scores with the Angoff method appears to suit many requirements of personnel departments. Several procedures have evolved that suggest enhancing the accuracy and reliability of the Angoff method is possible. The current experiment investigated several such procedures, and found that rater accuracy methods significantly enhance cutoff score reliability and accuracy.
