[en] The widespread use of satellites for communications demands na ever increasing effort from the telecommunications Agencies acceptable limits of mutual interference. The TV carriers, in particular, due to their high power characteristics, have been the subject of recent studies aimed at reducing their interference potential.
The present work analyzes the use of different TV carrier energy dispersal waveforms from the point of view of interference into narrowband digital carriers, called SCPC (Single Channel Per Carrier), and indicates possible ways of reducing such interference potential through the appropriate choice of alternative energy dispersal waveforms.

A new anharmonicity correction method is proposed in this work. The aim of this method is to simplify the reprodution of the harmonic force fields, the harmonic frequencies and potential energy distribution by application of the anharmonicity correction coefficients to the normal coordinate analysis force field. The simplification proposed consists in grouping the coefficients according of their numerical similarities, producing results similar to those obtained without grouping. The grouping and non grouping anharmonicity correction coefficients were calculated for trans-formic acid and applied to the force fields of the cis- and dimer of this molecule. The results obtained for the harmonic frequencies for the trans-, cis- and dimer species by the proposed method are very close to those obtained Dennison method / Mestrado / Físico-Química / Mestre em Química

[en] MODEL FOR THE HIGH FREQUENCY RESPONSE OF LAMINATED CYLINDRICAL SHELLS / [pt] MODELAGEM DO COMPORTAMENTO EM ALTAS FREQUÊNCIAS DE CASCAS CILÍNDRICAS LAMINADASCARLOS ENRIQUE RIVAS ARONI 17 March 2003 (has links)
Nestes casos,as teorias
acuracidade a resposta dinâmica destas estruturas.
método dos elementos / [en] This dissertation addresses the problem of modeling the
dynamic response of laminated cylindrical shells in the
high frequency range -short wavelength-. In this range of
frequency, traditional theories fail to provide an
accurate result of the vibratory structural response; So,
in order to overcome this shortcoming, we employed a model
based on Reddys discrete layer-wise theory. In this method
the cylindrical shell is discretized in an arbitrary number
of layers in the radial direction, and a three dimensional
stress state is assumed in each one. Hence, the application
of this method let the representation of complexes
displacement elds through the thickness of the shell. This
characteristic is representative of displacement elds
associated to guided waves in the high frequency range. In
the frequency domain, the governing equations were written
in a state space form by applying a variational principle.
The solution of this state equation was obtained by
employing an algorithm based on a discrete version of the
Ricatti transformation. To validate the method proposed in
this dissertation, comparisons of the present work to the
exact wave-dispersion spectra were assessed with
excellent results. It indicates that the present method can
predict an accurate description of the dynamic response in
the high-frequency range. In the low frequency range, the
results of the theory of Reddy were compared with the nite
element method and, again, a good accuracy was obtained.

[en] BUCKLING AND VIBRATION OF SLENDER RINGS AND PIPES ON AN ELASTIC FOUNDATION / [pt] FLAMBAGEM E VIBRAÇÃO DE ANÉIS E TUBULAÇÕES ESBELTAS EM UMA FUNDAÇÃO ELÁSTICAMARIANA BARROS DOS SANTOS DIAS 19 May 2021 (has links)
[en] It is known that thin-walled elastic rings and pipes are subject to instability when under a state of compressive stresses. A particularly interesting example is the buckling of an elastic ring under hydrostatic pressure. The buckling load is strongly influenced by the following nature of the force due to the hydrostatic pressure and, if this effect is neglected, the forecast of the critical buckling load can be up to 50 per cent for slender rings. This work studies, using a non-linear variational formulation, the buckling and vibration characteristics of rings and pipes supported by a Pasternak elastic foundation, the Winkler foundation being considered as a particular case. First, the equation of motion of the preloaded ring
is derived and the analytical solution of the eigenvalue problems is obtained. Parametric analysis shows the influence of the geometric and physical parameters of the ring and the foundation on the critical load, natural frequencies and nonlinear load-frequency relationship, considering the force following effect of the
hydrostatic pressure. Additionally, the effect of the foundation on pre-critical deformations is studied. Finally, the effect of an initial geometric imperfection is assessed using the Galerkin method. The results show that the parameters of the Pasternak foundation have a considerable effect on the critical load and mode as well as on the natural frequencies of the ring.

[en] FREQUENCY SHARING BETWEEN UBIQUITOUSLY DEPLOYED FIXED SATELLITE SERVICE EARTH STATIONS AND STATIONS OF THE TERRESTRIAL SERVICES / [pt] COMPARTILHAMENTO DE FREQUÊNCIAS ENTRE ESTAÇÕES TERRENAS DO SERVIÇO FIXO POR SATÉLITE IMPLANTADAS DE MANEIRA UBÍQUA E RECEPTORES DO SERVIÇO FIXO TERRESTREERMINIO DA CAS NETO 23 March 2018 (has links)
[en] The growing interest in High-Density Fixed Service Satellite systems (HDFSS) has led to studies at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) aiming the development of a recommendation for guidance on its implementation in order to minimize interference affecting other telecommunications services. Such systems are of interest due to their flexibility in the ubiquitous deployment of small terminals, Without the need for coordination. In order to regulate the implementation of such systems, the Study Group 4 of the ITU Radiocommunication Sector, responsible for the fixed-satellite service, has developed and suggested studies aimed at creating a recommendation containing methodologies for frequency sharing involving earth stations (terminals) ubiquitously distributed. Thus, in 2003, at the World Radiocommunication
Conference of the ITU, specific frequency bands for HDFSS systems operation have been addressed, and most of the frequency bands identified are shared, on a primary basis, With the terrestrial fixed service systems (FS) and, for this reason, such studies for regulation and control of this share has become
important. The ITU main motivation for these studies is the analysis of the interference caused by the HDFSS systems deployed in a country, into the communication sevices of neighboring countries. In this scenario, this paper proposes a methodology for evaluating interference produced by a ubiquitously
distributed terminals into FS systems. This method aims at determining a coordination region, thus enabling terminals to be freely deployed outside this region, without producing unacceptable levels of interference into the FS receivers.

Autofunções e Frequências de Vibração do Modelo Euler-Bernoulli para Vigas Não-ClássicasMigotto, Dionéia 18 July 2011 (has links)
This paper presents a methodology for determining eigenfunctions and frequencies
of the Euler-Bernoulli model for elastic beams that can include damping and devices
located at intermediate or end points of the beam. The eigenfunctions or vibration
modes of the beam are obtained by using solution basis generated by the dynamic
solution of a fourth-order differential equation, through a block matrix formulation
of the boundary and compatibility conditions. The use of the dynamic basis has been
often used to reduce the calculations in obtaining the modes and frequencies. Forced
responses are obtained with the Galerkin method by modifying the classical modal
analysis with the inclusion of new conditions of orthogonality between modes that
are suitable for problems with viscous damping or non-classical boundary conditions.

[en] INFLUENCE OF NON LINEAR NORMAL MODES AND SYMMETRIES ON THE DYNAMIC OF A SLENDER GUYED TOWER / [pt] INFLUÊNCIA DE MODOS NORMAIS NÃO LINEARES E DE SIMETRIAS NO COMPORTAMENTO DINÂMICO DE TORRES ESTAIADASICARO RODRIGUES MARQUES 29 September 2020 (has links)
[en] The guyed towers are among the tallest man-made structures. These structures are usually very slender and their guy/mast interaction leads to highly nonlinear behaviors. Due this, simplified models are developed for simulating these structures. The discrete model of tow-degree of freedom investigated by several authors exhibits characteristic phenomena of nonlinear structures such as a superabundance of similar nonlinear normal modes and non-similar normal modes (NMNs), bifurcations of NMNs, internal resonance, and modal interaction. The present work aims to investigate the behavior of a continuous structural model of a tower with one to three guyed levels. The nonlinear finite element method (FEM) is used to parametric analyzes of the influence on static and dynamic responses, linear and nonlinear, of the geometric and materials characteristics of the guys, of the mast and guys self-weight and initial imperfections of the tower s natural frequencies and critical loads. The symmetries generated by the uniform distribution of guys have a great influence on the response, given rise to coincident critical loads and natural frequencies. This generates modal interaction in the buckling and 1:1 internal resonance, increasing the effect of the geometric nonlinearity on the response. A qualitative analysis is developed, comparing as the response of the nonlinear vibration of the continuous model as those of the two degrees of freedom model. This comparative analysis indicates the existence of the multiple NNMs and multimodes. The influence of theses modes and tower inherent symmetries are investigated through a parametric analysis of the tower under lateral harmonic excitation. tower modes. The results show that the tower exhibits a highly nonlinear response, even at low load levels, which must be considered with care in the design stage and indicates the necessary of further investigations of the nonlinear dynamic response of these structures considering the different guys distribution used in practice.
