Rybársky, Matej January 2018 (has links)
Title: Comparison of somatotype profiles in ice hockey players of national team 1976 and national team U19 season 2017-2018. Objectives: The main aim of this thesis is to compare the level of somatotype profile changes between national team of Czechoslovakia from 1976 and Czech republic national team U19 playing in season 2017-2018. Methods: For purpose of study the observation research method was used. Research samples were made of 41 ice hockey players, specifically players of Czechoslovak national team from 1976 (n=24) and players of Czech national team U19 in season 2017-2018 (n=17). The somatotype was determined using Heath and Carter method (1990). To determine the degree of differences between the given parameters, the effect size of Cohen d was used, d ≥ 0,5 a d ≥ 0,8 depending on the hypothesis formulated. Results: Results showed, that the endomorphy of U19 players was significantly greater compared to ČSSR 1976 players (Cohen d = 0,65). The biggest difference was revealed at supraspinale skinfold (Cohen d = 1,06). On the other hand, we found significantly lower mesomporhy in U19 players (Cohen d = 1,63). The cause of this lower mesomoprhy was mainly due to significantly lower bone robusticity of the humerus (Cohen d = 0,81) and femur (Cohen d = 1,19). Keywords: somatotype, ice hockey,...

Another goal of the thesis is to experimentally verify if there is a motoric transfer to agility on ice due to agility training off the ice. Methods: In this experiment, I had seven participants divided into two separated groups. The task for the groups was to undergo two, one month training programs, on - ice and off - ice. Results were measured by method of quantitative analysis of motoric test results. Results: In both of the monitored groups, the results were improved in two out of six tests. For the research, the participants were divided into two groups. Both groups completed a month long training program on ice and off ice. In the direct 6.1m sprint test, direct 35m sprint and S - Corner, the results did not change. In the slalom-puck test, a difference was found in the Cohen d values between the group which began only on ice and in the group that was beginning office after both periods. The result of the reaction test was by Cohen's d same as in the slalom-puck test. Keywords: Ice hockey, agility, training,...

The research part of this thesis was carried out through the method of indirect observation of 14 Tipsport extraliga matches. It is particularly a technique of goalkeeper's selected game activities and the analysis of their success. Results: According to the results of correlation it is obvious that there is no relationship between the body height and the percent success of the goalkeeper. Goalkeepers of the Czech extraliga use the game activity butterfly more than 90 percent while responding to the kicked hockey puck in every hockey match. Fenomenet Timeouter inom Idrotten Ishockey : Sammanställning av matchstatistik från SHL säsongen 2017/18 & spelare, samt tränares och spelares erfarenheter på fenomenet timeouter inom ishockey. / The Phenomenon of Timeouts in the Sport Ice Hockey

Brelin, Rickard, Färnström, Joel January 2018 (has links)
Purpose The purpose of the study is to analyze match statistics of timeouts from the 2017/18 season of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) and based on the analysis obtain coaches and players approach experiences off timeouts. Method Method during the study was a mixed method, whit both a qualitative and a quantitative research through interviews and statistical compilation of statistics from SHL seson 2017/18. The study's selection to the interviews was coaches and players at the elite level in the sports ice hockey and match statistics was taken and compiled from the Swedish Ice Hockey Association's database from the 2017/18 season in SHL. Results The result of the study shows that during the SHL season 2017/18 less than half of possible timeouts were taken and most of the timeouts were taken in the third period of teams in lower positions in games. During the timeouts, the trainers are most active and the interviewees' overall experience is that the powerbreak has a major impact on numbers of timeouts and that coaches are waiting to take their timeouts to the end of the matches. Conclusion The conclusions of this study are that the powerbreak has a major impact on that less than half of the timeouts being use. Powerbreaks has become an extra timeout when teams gets a longer break one time per period during the matches. This means that teams save their timeout to the end of the matches. Most timeouts are taken by teams in lower positions and by teams at the bottom of the table. Which is logical since teams at the bottom of the table are more often in lower position at the end of matches when most timeouts are used.

Does Discrimination Exist in the National Hockey League? An Analysis of Racial Salary Discrimination in the NHL (2012-2017)

Lyandvert, Shayna 01 January 2018 (has links)
This paper examines whether racial salary discrimination exists in the National Hockey League (NHL). I examine data from Hockey Reference and CapFriendly and find some evidence of racial salary discrimination, controlling for a rich set of demographic and performance characteristics. Specifically, when I solely control for race, I do not find any racial wage gap. This gap exists when I control for race and limited place of birth groups, however, the effect is wiped out by performance controls. When controlling for race and detailed place of birth groups, I find some evidence of a race gap even when controls for performance are included. Lastly, I discover that whites from all countries excluding the USA earn more than whites from the USA.

Analýza věkové struktury družstev na MS v ledním hokeji \\ / Age structure analysis at Ice jockey players on World Championships\\

KROPÁČEK, Jan January 2008 (has links)
My thesis deals with the problem of analysis of age structure of the top three ice-hockey teams at the world championships from 1970 to 2007. At the beginning, I put together all the data about players who took part in these championships and finished on the top three places. I evaluated these data with the help of Microsoft Excel programme. The results were divided into three periods given by the changes in play systems of ice-hockey championships. The average age of players at different championships, who placed themselves to the medal positions in years 1970 to 2007, is clearly visible in the graphs and charts.
