Michael Kácha a česká literatura / Michael Kácha and Czech Literature

Machková, Barbora January 2015 (has links)
This thesis presents the personality of Michael Kácha, anarchist editor and publisher. Biographical sketch shows not only his editorial activity and journalism (for instance in journals Práce, Zádruha, Mladý průkopník, Klíčení) and his work as a publisher (Družstvo Kniha, Kacha Verlag), but pays attention also to his activities within workers' and anarchist, respectively anarcho-communist organizations, which is inextricably connected with his literary activity. A bibliography of texts of Michael Kácha and a list of books published with his participation is the part of this thesis.

Training Chinese house church leaders: Factors influencing leadership development strategies

Yoo, Jong Keol (Jacob) 23 March 2005 (has links)
There is an enormous, urgent, crucial need for leadership training to support the rapid growth of the Chinese house church. This dissertation examines ten factors that should be considered when outsiders, such as Western missionaries, develop effective strategies: (1) economic and geographic factors, (2) relationship with the TSPM church, (3) cultural and historical factors, (4) Chinese intellectuals, (5) political factors, (6) influence of four leaders, (7) Korean people's role, (8) groups in the house church, (9) women in church leadership, and (10 )effect of the "One-Child Policy." Chapter 1 mainly introduces the dissertation's thesis, the proposal's background, and the research methodology. Each of the ten factors is briefly explained as the thesis, and the purpose is clarified. Chapter 2 presents an early history of the Chinese church, which is divided into three sections: (1) the early history of Christian missions to China, 635-1784; (2) imperialism and Protestant missions to China, 1807-1900; and (3) nationalism and the independent church movement, 1901-1949. Chapter 3 deals with a history of the Chinese house church movement under the Communist regime from 1949 to the present. First, the formation and survival of the Chinese house church movement under Mao Zedong's rule are explained. Next, the growth and current situation of the Chinese house church movement are described. Chapter 4 identifies the urgent need for, and the current situation of, Chinese house church leadership training, compared with those of the TSPM church. Chapter 5, as the dissertation's conclusion, explores the ten factors that should be considered in developing Chinese house church leadership-training strategies. Besides authoritative sources, the survey results are used extensively to support my assumptions. Some effective models are suggested. / This item is only available to students and faculty of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Monetary policy transmission and house prices, a VAR approach: a case study of South Africa (1994 to 2011)

Mutsvunguma, Priscilla Tatenda 21 August 2013 (has links)
Thesis (M.M. (Finance & Investment))--University of the Witwatersrand, Faculty of Commerce, Law and Management, Graduate School of Business Administration, 2013. / We analyse the role of financial and macro-economic variables in the conduct of monetary policy, particularly the role played by monetary policy in the house price boom of the early 2000s. The analysis is performed in the setup of a New Keynesian open economy. We estimate a five variable Recursive Vector Autoregressive model consisting of the short term interest rate, house prices, inflation, output and the exchange rate. Quarterly data from 1994 to 2011 was inputted in Eviews (6) to run the model. We find a significant causal relationship between the short term interest rate and house prices; the impulse response results show an instant response of house prices to a shock in monetary policy. We conclude that the house price boom of the early 2000s was partially attributed to an overreaction to a shock in monetary policy. We also find evidence of exchange rate pass- through to the consumer price index as in (Mishkin, 2008).We conclude that perhaps monetary policy should take cognisance of asset price fluctuations and exchange rate volatility in determining the policy instrument

Hur hoppar man högst?

Berger, Axel, Nyman, Max January 2019 (has links)

A casa Bettega de Vilanova Artigas: desenhos e conceitos / The Bettega house by Vilanova Artigas: concept and design

Oliveira, Giceli Portela Cunico de 23 April 2009 (has links)
A House projected by Vilanova Artigas for a physician and his family in Curitiba in 1949 receives very little attention in the publications as well as being strange that it never commented on by its creator. The modernist concrete and glass box surpasses barriers of time. It was not demolished like the other six in the native land of Artigas. Its design, six decades later, still validates the discourse of the young communist architect and translates his theoretical discourses and temerity, and at the same time reveals his dominance over the technique at that time, always together with the kindnesses that the architect proposes for the homes he builds, and in this case, a whisper of knowledge of the manner of living in Paraná. Simple and regional materials that are easily executed still remain whole, conserving at any price the magic of light and color. The House that was born during a bourgeois period of the city, and at the same time, Artigas projected his second house in São Paulo. If it was a huge experiment it worked out, and we may easily see in it some seeds launched into the future that were transformed into paradigms for a type of architecture, not from Curitiba or São Paulo, but truly Brazilian. The Bettega House, restored in 2004, is the object of this study.

Essays in Macroeconomics with Frictions and Uncertainty Shocks

Kang, Taesu January 2012 (has links)
Thesis advisor: Fabio Ghironi / This dissertation consists of three essays on macroeconomics with frictions and uncertainty shocks. The first essay is "Collateral Constrained Workers' Unemployment". Financial market and labor market are closely interconnected each other in the sense that unemployed workers have difficulty not only in borrowing new loan but also in repaying outstanding loan. In addition, if unemployment entails loss from default and no new loan, credit constrained workers will accept lower wage to avoid the loss from losing job. In this paper, we try to investigate the role of the interaction between financial market and labor market over the business cycle. To do that, we assume credit constrained workers can borrow against their houses and repay outstanding loans only when they are employed. We also introduce labor search and matching framework into our model to consider unemployment and wage bargaining process explicitly. With this setup, we find that adverse housing preference shock leads to substantial negative impact on labor market by reducing the benefit from maintaining job. As a result, high unemployment significantly amplifies the business cycle by reducing supply of loan and increasing default. This result would be helpful to understand recent "Great Recession" which was originated from the collapse of housing market and accompanied by high unemployment and default rate. The second essay is "International Financial Business Cycles". Recent international macroeconomics literature on global imbalances explains the U.S. persistent current account deficit and emerging countries' surplus, i.e., the U.S. is the borrower. Little research has been done on the banking-sector level, where U.S. banks are lenders to banks in emerging countries. We build a two country framework where banks are explicitly modeled to investigate how lending in the banking sector can affect the international macroeconomy during the recent crisis. In steady state, banks in the developing country borrows from the U.S. banks. When the borrowers in the U.S. pay back less than contractually agreed and damage the balance sheet of the U.S. banks, with the presence of bank capital requirement constraint, U.S. banks raise lending rates and decrease the loans made to U.S. borrowers as well as banks in the developing country. The results are a sharp increase in the lending spread, a reduction in output and a depreciation in the real exchange rate of the developing country. They are the experience of many emerging Asian markets following the U.S. financial crisis starting in late 2007. Another feature of our model captures an empirical fact, documented by Devereux and Yetman (2010), that across different economies, countries with lower financial rating can suffer more when the lending country deleverages. The third essay is "Uncertainty, Collateral Constrained Borrowers, and Business Cycle". Standard RBC model fails to generate the co-movement of key macro variables under uncertainty shock because precautionary saving motive decreases consumption but increases investment and labor. To fill this gap, we build a DSGE model with collateral constrained borrowers who can borrow against housing and capital. In the model with modest risk aversion, we can generate the desired co-movement of key macro variables under uncertainty shock and the co-movement comes from the collateral constraint channel through drop in housing price. Under uncertainty shock, highly indebted borrowers sell collaterals to avoid uncertainty in future consumption. As a result, housing price goes down and it makes credit crunch to borrowers through collateral constraint channel. The negative effect of uncertainty shock is strengthened in the economy with higher indebted borrowers. / Thesis (PhD) — Boston College, 2012. / Submitted to: Boston College. A política habitacional para a população de baixa renda, em Belo Horizonte, a partir de 1990 / House politics focused on low income population from Belo Horizonte City since 1990

Santos, Cynthia de Souza 27 October 2006 (has links)
This thesis has as its object of analysis house politics focused on low income population from Belo Horizonte city since 1990. That politics was analyzed in terms of its configuration, which took shape through production model for new settlement of social interest and through urbanization of slums. Given different contexts and political moments examined in the 80 and 90 years, house politics assumed several contours. Such contours were ascertained on emergence, summation, simultaneity and flexibility of those models which nowadays are polarized. The understanding of a dual logic for those polarized manifestations was sought. It was confirmed that the logic of that house politics, which oscilates betwen production of new settlement and urbanization with regularization of slums, is related to the different ways of capital production, land market and housing. It was also ascertained that in environment of contradiction one model bears itself with the existence of another, and at the same time tends to consider a blend of interest from different actors reiterating social and spacial inequalities.

O mobiliário infanto-juvenil da casa paulistana na década de 1950 e suas relações com o espaço físico da criança / Child and teenager furniture in São Paulo houses in the 50\'s and its relations with the child\'s physical space

Dantas, Thereza Christina Ferreira 02 May 2012 (has links)
Apoiada no levantamento de imagens efetuado nos jornais e nas revistas especializadas da época procurou analisar quais móveis (cama, berço, cômoda, armários) eram produzidos, quais os materiais empregados na sua produção, e quais desenhos eram utilizados na sua concepção / This dissertation deals with the production of child furniture in São Paulo, Brazil, in the period between 1950 and 1960. The research intended to present an overview of the country\'s social, cultural and economic aspects in the first half of the 20th century, and to examine educational precepts of that time, in order to develop hypotheses that could help to understand both the place that children held in the home, and the furniture produced for their space. This work also attempted to register and analyze the production of the child\'s furniture and space, with no specific focused age. The adopted criteria was that the furniture had some kind of relation with the child -- either a newborn baby, a child or a teenager. The key point considered here was to analyze of what was being done for the child, and when this specific doing had occurred. Based on the research of images published in newspapers and magazines of the period, this work intended to analyze which pieces of furniture (bed, cradle, chests of drawers, wardrobes) were produced, the array of materials employed, and the design considered during their creation
