Müllerová, Nikola January 2014 (has links)
Criminology is a science dealing with the protection of citizens and state from infringement. Criminology uses mostly biological or genetic methods for crime detection. Forensic traces which are collected by forensic experts on the scene are the key items of those methods. Forensic genetics is among the most important forensic subdisciplines. Forensic genetics uses DNA analysis for identification. The main aims of this study are description and importance of biological, anthropological and genetic methods in criminology, different ways of forensic identification, division and collection of forensic traces, characterization and course of forensic DNA analysis and DNA profiling. Key words Criminology, forensic methods, forensic identification, forensic trace, forensic biology, anthropology and genetics, information systems, forensic DNA analysis, DNA profile.

Empirické ověření nové Keynesiánské Philipsovy křivky v ČR / Empirical Testing of the New Keynesian Phillips Curve in the Czech Republic

Plašil, Miroslav January 2003 (has links)
New keynesian Phillips curve (NKPC) has become a central model to study the relation between inflation and real economic activity, notably in the framework of optimal monetary policy design. However, some recent evidence suggests that empirical data are usually at odds with the underlying theory. The model due to its inherent structure represents a statistical challenge in its own right. Since Galí and Gertler (1999) published their seminal paper introducing estimation via GMM techniques, they have triggered a heated debate on its empirical relevance. Their approach has been heavily criticised by later authors, mainly on the grounds of questionable behaviour of GMM estimator in the NKPC context and/or its small sample properties. The common criticism includes sensitivity to the choice of instrument set, weak identification and small sample bias. In this thesis I propose a new estimation strategy that provides a remedy to above mentioned shortcomings and allows to obtain reliable estimates. The procedure exploits recent advances in GMM theory as well as in other fields of statistics, in particular in the area of time series factor analysis and bootstrap. The proposed estimation strategy consists of several consecutive steps: first, to reduce a small sample bias resulting from excessive use of instruments I summarize all available information by employing factor analysis and include estimated factors into information set. In the second step I use statistical information criteria to select optimal instruments and eventually I obtain confidence intervals on parameters using bootstrap method. In NKPC context all these methods were used for the first time and can also be used independently. Their combination however provides synergistic effect that helps to improve the properties of estimates and to check the efficiency of given steps. Obtained results suggest that NKPC model can explain Czech inflation dynamics fairly well and provide some support for underlying theory. Among other things the results imply that the policy of disinflation may not be as costly with respect to a loss in aggregate product as earlier versions of Phillips curve would indicate. However, finding a good proxy for real economic activity has proved to be a difficult task. In particular we demonstrated that results are conditional on how the measure is calculated, some measures even showed countercyclical behaviour. This issue -- in the thesis discussed only in passing -- is a subject of future research. In addition to the proposed strategy and provided parameter estimates the thesis brings some partial simulation-based findings. Simulations elaborate on earlier literature on naive bootstrap in GMM context and study performance of bootstrap modifications of unit root and KPSS test.

Aplikace vybrané metody identifikace účetního podvodu v podmínkách vybraného podniku / Application of selected methods of identifying accounting fraud in terms of the selected company

STAŇKOVÁ, Naděžda January 2016 (has links)
The aim of my diploma thesis was the application of the selected method of identifying accounting fraud in setting of chosen company. In the first part of this work were used methods based on the comparison of data chosen company with the data of competitive companies in the same industry or with the data of industry. I compare the return on equity (ROE), return on assets (ROA), Daily income and balance of accounts receivable, profit margin. In the next part of this work were used special methods to identify accounting fraud. I used methods Beneish M-score model, cash realization ratio, Jones nondiscretionary accruals. As an additional analysis, I used the bankruptcy Altman Z-score model. In conclusion, I compared the risks identified possible manipulation of financial statements for all tests and analyzes. All performed tests and analyzes in aggregate have identified this risk as low. Yet some of them pointed to further more detailed research in revenues, margins and setting transfer prices.

Identifikace látek v reálných vzorcích pomocí přenosného Ramanova spektrometru / The Identification of Substances in Real Samples Using Portable Raman Spectrometer

HRDINA, Richard January 2012 (has links)
The title of the thesis: The Identification of Substances in Real Samples Using Portable Raman Spectrometer The portable Raman spectrometer Ahura First Defender is a device designated for identifying unrecognized solid and liquid substances. The aim of this diploma thesis was to test the efficiency of the portable Raman spectrometer First Defender and to draw up a draft of the methodology for its manipulation. The objects of the investigation were the accuracy of results and collection of findings coming out of measuring tests using the device mentioned above. The introduction part briefly describes problems of chemical monitoring within Fire Rescue Service of the Czech Republic. As a partly solution of the problems could be the use of the portable spectrometer First Defender. Further are described problems of sampling and possibilities of sample detection through means of chemical reconnaissance. As next, there is described the device itself including the principle of Raman effect that allows the device to identify unrecognized solid and liquid chemical substances. The practical part explains the procedure and the way of applied measuring tests when using the device. The results are summarized in charts and the percentage of successful performed tests analyzed in charts. Findings concerning the manipulation with the device, methods for sample modification and the influence of sample matrix on the identification of selected chemicals in observed samples are introduced in the discussion. Professional knowledge and experience were used to draw up guidelines for the identification of substances in real samples conceived as general informational source describing procedures, rules, and recommendations. Upon all outcomes and findings, there was confirmed the hypothesis of greatly beneficial using Raman spectrometer in Fire Protection Units when identifying unknown substances at places of intervention at the end of the thesis.

Eliášová, Barbora January 2018 (has links)
The identification and development of high potential employees is part of talent management, which is currently one of the priorities of strategic human resources management. According to relevant surveys, high potential employees account for less than five percent of the total number of employees. First, the thesis deals with talent management, its theoretical background and historical development. Subsequently, from the point of view of HR managers, it focuses on the issue of highly potential employees in order to find out which competencies are key to this group of employees. The partial objective is to clarify the extent to which selected companies in the Czech Republic agree or differ in terms of high potential employees. A qualitative survey is used to examine both objectives, consisting of a semi-structured interview with company managers and point scale. The aim of the thesis is to describe the set of key competencies of high potential employees and to distinguish them from the set of competencies of other employees.

Choroušová, Jana January 2021 (has links)
The aim of the diploma thesis "Maternal Identification in Anorexia Nervosa" is to map the developmental context of the onset of anorexia nervosa in female patients related with the formation of relationships with immediate caregivers and the detailed focus on the daughter's relationship with the mother. The theoretical part offers a cross-section of psychoanalytic theories that specifically deal with such process. These are mainly the object relations theory, the attachment theory as well as the recent theory of mentalization. The initial premise of the whole work is the femininity itself, the age of the patients when the period of adolescence and female gender are amongst the main risk factors for the development of anorexia nervosa and contribute to the disproportion between male and female patients. The concept of identification between daughter and mother within the separation-individuation process is described both in early childhood and during adolescence. The empirical part focuses on a particular examination of the patient's relationships with primary caregivers, the immediate environment from childhood to adulthood and the factors involved in the development of the disease. Through a semi-structured in-depth interview, the study monitors key moments of psychosocial development in four...
