Obraz ženy ve filosofické reflexi / The Concept of Woman: Philosophical Reflection

Janatová, Kristýna January 2020 (has links)
The topic of the diploma thesis is "The Concept of Woman: Philosophical Reflection." The purpose of this paper is to discuss the phenomenon of femininity and the position of woman not only in the world but in her own body as well. It examines the relationship between a woman and a man. Attention is focused on sameness and difference in self - concept and thinking of both genders. The primary aim is equality of rights and duties between both genders. The paper expands upon eight basic areas. The first chapter deals with woman and the mental and physical form of love. Furthermore, attention is paid to women and marriage, with attention focused on engagement, wedding ceremony and divorce. The chapter regarding women and family correlates to a high degree with the chapter about women and work, attention is focused on the traditional distribution of roles and on the distribution of work at home and outside of home. The chapter "Women and Feminism" maps the demands of that ideology. The chapter "Women for Women" points to the fact that women are not always supporting each other. The chapter "Women and Cognition" analyses the possibilities and conditions of cognition of women. The last chapter focuses on woman's relationship to her own body and evaluates the impact of today's age on the impression of...

Lusofonie jako minulost, přítomnost a budoucnost / Lusophony Past, Present and Future

Sivčáková, Michaela January 2020 (has links)
This thesis will take a closer look at the relatively new and multifaceted concept of Lusophony. It begins with a brief introduction to Portuguese colonial history and postcolonial development with a focus on the connection between Portuguese national identity, the colonial empire and today's Lusophone world. Subsequently, this thesis will present various conceptions of the colonial empire and the panorama of the transformations of colonial and anti-colonialist narratives through which Portuguese colonization and decolonization were justified. Among other things, this thesis aims to explore the topic of Lusophony in historical contexts, to examine the circumstances of this idea's origin and its development in Portugal, and, finally, to present some conceptualizations in the current academic context. Lastly, the main problems that Lusophony struggles with in the postcolonial context will be considered, specifically its relationship with the colonial past(s). Key-words: Lusophony, Post-Colonialism, Portuguese speaking community, Identity, Lusophone culture, Portuguese language

Gender dysforie u osob s poruchou autistického spektra / Gender dysphoria in persons with autism spectrum disorder

Lukina, Julie January 2020 (has links)
The master thesis copes with gender dysphoria (GD) in persons with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The quantitative research was chosen to study this topic. The main goal was to determine whether people with mild ASD have a higher prevalence of GD or higher rate of GD compared to the general neurotypical population (NT). The main methods used in this research were: Autism Quotient Questionnaire (AQ-10) and the Gender Identity/Gender Dysphoria Questionnaire in Adolescents and Adults (GIDYQ-AA), which made it possible to determine the degree of GD and the potential co-occurrence of a diagnosis of gender incongruence (GI; according to ICD-11). In the research there were 196 subjects with the age ranging from 16 to 74 years. The ASD group was compromised 90 persons and in the NT group there were 106 people. While in the NT group no one admitted transgender identity, in the ASD group 2.2 % of subjects informed about transgender identity and 14.4 % of the autistic group were not sure about it. Based on the GIDYQ-AA results, 4.4 % of people with ASD had a low score indicating a possible presence of a diagnosis of GD (GI). Furthermore, the research found that women with autism had significantly higher rate of GD than both women in the NT group and men with ASD. Overall, subjects with ASD achieved...

Analýza potencionálního vlivu současné hudby a hudebních textů na utváření genderových identit z pohledu posluchačů / Analysis of Potential Impact of Contemporary Music and Lyrics on Gender Construction from the Audience Perspective

Marxtová, Kateřina January 2020 (has links)
This diploma thesis focuses on the topic of gender in music and also its perception by the audience. The research topic was chosen for the increasing consumption of music media and for the lack of research focused on gender in music and on the perception of music lyrics in general. The research part uses both the qualitative content analysis of music lyrics contained in the sample of Billboard Top Charts songs for the past 50 years (between years 1970-2019), and also semi-structured qualitative interviews on a multi-generation sample. Included in the content analysis was the total of 500 songs, interviewed were 8 respondents of various genders and ages to accomplish a diverse sample. The topics of males, females and their relationship proved to be the dominant topics in the research music sample, and it also went through a significant development over time. The research identified a movement from metaphoric language to explicit, at the same time it identified a development of the metaphors. Also observed was the inclination to communicate different topics between male and female artists. Women were more focused on the topics of love, love triangle, end of the relationship, and submission. Men focused predominantly on the topics of sex, intimacy, and in the recent years also on money and addictions,...

Krajina jihočeského pohraničí: vývoj jejího využití a komparace krajinného dědictví (případová studie vybraných katastrů na Novohradsku) / Landscape of the South Bohemian Borderland: Land Use Development and the Landscape Heritage Comparison (Case Study of Selected Cadastral Units in the Novohradsko Region)

Ryant, Filip January 2010 (has links)
The general aim of this thesis is to estimate nature of the man - landscape relationship in selected parts of the Novohradsko region. In the process of working on this thesis, many aspects, which could influence this connection, were considered. One of them was the forced transfer of German population from Czechoslovakia to Germany and Austria after World War II. Different extent of this process was the key to selection of the studied cadastral units. These cadasters were examined from the point of landscape changes and various landscape heritage comparison. The reason for this study was the complexity of the man - landscape relationship and the different aspects which can determine the nature of it. The results were confronted with the local people's perception by interviews. The thesis is structured into several parts. One of the crucial is the theoretical chapter, which presents the various attitudes to landscape, mainly those which emphasize land use discipline, landscape heritage, landscape memory and territorial identity. All these phenomenons appear in the other parts of the thesis. At first, the land use analysis in the South-Bohemian Borderland is made, then selected cadasters are examined in this way as well. An overview of the most important landscape heritage in those units follows....

Počítadlo identifikačních procesů mezi třetí a čtvrtou generací přistěhovalců ve Francii. Případ Marseille a jeho arabské komunity / Counter identification processes among the third-fourth generation of immigrants in France. The case of Marseille and its Arabic community

la Forgia, Enrico Maria January 2020 (has links)
The importance of the thesis derived from the perspective offered: issues concerning immigration and integration often have been dealt with approaches which stress the conflictuality between faiths and cultures, or unload on the immigrant, meant as individual, the burden of a failed or successful "integration". In countries such as France, where concepts such as integration and assimilation continue to engage in the public debate even though they are dealing with the third and fourth generation of immigrants, the fallacy of these approaches is relevantly shared among scholars. Hence, my choice to highlight the negative inputs entered by the State/society, and perceived as threat and discrimination by the French with Arab origins, is justified by the need for a different approach. In fact, among the final results of the thesis, appears the trend (more or less extended among the young "Beurs") of re-establishing their identity on ethnicity and religion rather than their French nationality, since not always perceived by peers and institutions/authorities as pure French.

Jazykový politika jako nástroj budování národa: Případová studie Ukrajiny po Majdanu / Language policy as an instrument of nation-building: The case of Post-Maidan Ukraine

Viktora, Matyáš January 2020 (has links)
In this thesis, the issue of language policies and nation-building as seen by a constructivist perspective are studied, the studied case being the Post-Maidan Ukraine. It is argued that the ruling elites of Ukrainian society are persuading the members of minority-language populations to re-categorize themselves according to the blueprint of national and linguistic identities that the elites are presenting. The thesis studies the responsiveness of the populations of Kyiv, Dnipro, Uzhhorod and Odesa to the identity-building efforts. To assess the success rates of the endeavour, the method of linguistic landscape analysis and a survey among students of Czech in Ukraine are employed. In the linguistic landscape analysis, the behaviours of issuers of official, commercial and informal messages appearing in the studied cities are observed. Looking at the language composition of these signs, the overall responsiveness of the populations towards the official language policies, and, by extension, towards the nation-building efforts overall, are assumed. The survey then provides supporting evidence by asking the respondents questions about their attitudes towards the language legislation and stance on the issue of language use in the country. It is observed that in informal contexts, the messages often revert...

Zahraniční politika Austrálie v asijsko-pacifickém regionu: hlavní faktory vlivu / Foreign policy of Australia in the Asia-Pacific region: major influencing factors

Dašek, Josef January 2020 (has links)
This thesis focuses on Australian foreign policy in the Asia-Pacific region. The research target of this thesis is to identify the major factors that influence Australian foreign policy towards Asia-Pacific in the post-Cold War period with a focus on power and identity. Each of these factors is examined with a different theoretical approach. The concept of power is framed by realism. Specifically, while analysing the role of power in Australian foreign policy practice, the concept of defensive realism of Kenneth Waltz is applied. The concept of identity is framed by constructivism. Concretely, while analysing the role of identity in Australian foreign policy practice, the insights from David Campbell's interpretative approach and Alexander Wendt's structural constructivism are applied. The analytical part of the thesis is divided into two parts (chapters). The first part analyses whether Australian foreign policymaking is guided by the intentions of Waltz's defensive realism. In this part the Australian alliance with the U.S. is presented as well as the rise of China. The second part analyses whether Australian ideas, values and norms are the major constitutive elements of its foreign policy behaviour. In this part the middle power diplomacy is presented as a distinctive practice of Australian...

Tichá revoluce. Proměna identity frankofonního Québecu. / Quiet revolution: Transformation of the Francophone Identity of Quebec

Denemark, Jan January 2021 (has links)
This diploma thesis is covering Québec's policy and Quebec's change of identity from the era of the Quiet revolution. This work covers the changes that were a crucial in the creation of Québec's policy and national identity. From the time of the Quiet revolution in the 60's of the 20th century the society in Québec came through a drastic identity change. And not only in the province itself but also in the whole country of Canada. Because of this change, Québec refused the Canadian policy of multiculturalism. Canadian official policy does not accept Québec as a distinct society and also refuses the principle of the two-nation Canada. Therefore, Québec created its own policy of integration called interculturalism. In the analysis of the development of identity and nationalism, the methodology is a critical examination of the empirical experiences of Québec and the theses of the theoretical concepts of Charles Taylor and Will Kymlicka. It was necessary to study Taylor's and Kymlicka's theses on multiculturalism, identity, communitarianism, and liberalism as a starting point for analyzing the development of Québec. It was important to formulate definitions of identity, nation, and multiculturalism, to determine the main categories of content, and to analyze the development of the Québec identity during...

A blip on the radar? Conceptualising the Czech Republic in the United States before and after the missile defence shift

Ouellette, Megan January 2012 (has links)
Megan Ouellette Abstract Abstract This study constitutes an analysis of American conceptualizations of the Czech Republic as presented in presidential materials from 1989 to 2009 and American media reporting the cancellation of the Third Site of ballistic missile defence from 14-25 September 2009. It draws on the previous research offered by constructivist interpretations of international relations and the field of critical geopolitics to explore how, and for what purpose, certain American sources of geopolitical reasoning have portrayed the Czech Republic. By comparing and contrasting the ways in which the Czech Republic has been conceptualised in presidential materials over a period of twenty years and in media sources over a two-week period relative to a particular event, the study identifies trends and thematic (in)consistencies in American "mental maps" of the Czech Republic. It shows the extent to which media reporting on President Obama's ballistic missile defence policy shift recycled pre-existing conceptualizations of the Czech Republic broadcasted on the presidential level over the twenty years prior to the policy shift. The results of content analyses of each set of texts reveal that the Czech Republic holds specific symbolic and strategic value that ultimately points back to a particular...
