1945 års befriade

Mehmedovic, Mirzeta January 2010 (has links)
In today’s society newspapers have an important role. We read the newspapers when we want to find out what is happening in our society and around the world. Based on the above reasoning, the aim of this study is to analyze what three Swedish newspapers wrote about the “1945 liberated”, which arrived to Sweden in spring 1945. The newspapers which are being used in this study are Arbetet, Skånska Dagbladet and Landskrona Posten. When analyzing the newspapers I will be using a descriptive idea analysis. I will also be using a comparative method when I compare what the newspapers were reporting. When analyzing my material I have chosen to use an ethnicity- and gender perspective. The main conclusions of this study are that the different newspapers generally highlight the Swedish help operation, which seemed to be mostly meant for the “Nordic brothers”; the Danish and the Norwegian people. Another conclusion is that some groups were chosen to be excluded and others to be included into the “ethnic Swedishness” based on certain aspect; if they were “Nordic brothers”. Another conclusion is that the newspapers mostly chose to highlight the women.

An open source approach to Sweden's energy system : A review of future energy pathways

Nawfal, Saadi Failali January 2013 (has links)
This paper discusses the development of an energy systems model for Swedenconsidering electricity, heat and direct fossil fuel consumption in the residential, industrial and transport sectors as well as the energy interaction with the other Nordiccountries and its impact on the Swedish energy system. The model is developed in theOpen source energy modelling system (OSeMOSYS) (Mark Howells 2011) andshowcases potential energy investment options for Sweden in the next four decades(2010-2050). It considers different scenarios and provides a technology neutralassessment of how Sweden can invest in energy infrastructure in the most judiciousway. The paper also describes the new user interface developed called ANSWEROSeMOSYS.The paper further discusses the results of the different scenarios. Thebusiness as usual scenario shows an inclination towards investments in nuclear power.Further scenarios consider the gradual phasing out of the use of oil in CHP plants andnuclear power as well as new energy policies and tax reforms. The paper discusses theseresults in detail and demonstrates how Sweden could improve its energy infrastructureconsidering different policy implications and constraints put up by the availability andfeasibility of different resources. Finally, the prospect of wider stakeholder engagementbased on this model is discussed. Building on the open-source nature of the model, inputs and modifications from research institutes, energy modelling experts, government bodies, as well as the wider public will be incorporated into the model. Thesource code and modelling data will be made publicly available.

Omställning till små hållbara bostäder : Hur produktdesign kan påverka och främja en omställning till hållbara bostäder / Transition to sustanible Tiny Houses : How product design can influence and promote a transition to sustainable housing

Andersson, Nicole January 2022 (has links)
The study research how product design can influence and promote a transition to small sustainable homes through research and methods using Design for behaviour change. The study is based on previous research made on The Tiny House Movement (that started in the USA in the late 1990s) and examines the Swedish market for Tiny Houses through interviews with stakeholders in Sweden. The study is also based on theory from the areas of Sustainable development and Design for sustainable development. Through interviews, a target group of children was selected, and a list of requirements was written based on the theory and material collected from the interviews as well as from a supplementary investigation. The Design with intent method was used as a source of inspiration for the development of concepts, where two concepts were selected for further development and then analysed with the Harris profile method to find which concept best met the list of requirements. The final concept: a product intended to influence and promote children’s transitioning into small sustainable homes by allowing them to build different types of Tiny Houses on a small scale with drawings as guidance. The product, Tiny Tiny Houses, is intended to be used in the company of parents as an aid to teach learnings about alternative housing but is just as good for children to use on their own, with siblings, or in the company of other children. The product is similar to a backpack where the front is folded down to build Tiny Houses on a small scale with the help of building pieces similar to puzzle pieces that are pressed together. The product is easy to take out into nature to promote outdoor play. Nature is an important part of the concept as the child’s imagination together with nature will decorate the inside of the small houses.

From Global Justice to National Order?  : An analysis of the newly proposed immigration and integration policies of Sweden

Johansson, Karl January 2023 (has links)
In this Master Thesis, I will examine in what sense the proposed changes in the proposed migration and integration policies of the Tidö Agreement (Tidöavtalet) make current policies of the area even stricter. I will also analyse the agreement and the critique against the agreement using two ideal types. I chose to analyse this agreement because I found it interesting that there was a lot of debate about the proposals and therefore I want to analyse what the agreement is and in what sense it makes the Swedish migration and integration policies more restrictive than what they are now. I will use the dimensions constructed by Reidar Larsson as an analytical framework to write my idea analysis. My two ideal types and theories will be social conservatism and cosmopolitanism. I will go through the agreement point by point with a few exceptions and compare current and proposed legislation as well as using my theories to categorize the proposals and the critique. My conclusion shows that the policies will be noticeably much stricter in many aspects and that there is much presence of social conservatism in the agreement and that the critique is more cosmopolitan in nature.

The Comparative Impact of Family Policies in Sweden and Japan

Puskas-Seeboeck, Ida 26 July 2010 (has links)
What impact do family policies have on women's ability to have a family and participate in the labor market? Drawing on two cases, Japan and Sweden, I will identify different patterns of family policies' impact on fertility rates and women's participation in the labor market. Comparing the countries of Japan and Sweden, I ask how family policies influence choices about family and work life. Within this context, I will highlight the similarities we can find in both countries. Japan and Sweden are both industrialized nations with highly- developed economic structures and people enjoy high living standards. In both countries, we can also find similar elements of family policy. The three types of policies I study, (child allowances, parental leave legislation, as well as the establishment and expansion of childcare institutions) exist in both countries. At the same time, Japan and Sweden differ in the historical patterns of family roles reflected in each country's family policy framework. Due to these particular differences, the two countries show different outcomes concerning fertility rates and women's labor market participation. In my paper, I will closely examine the relationship between the existing circumstances and women's decisions in this context. / Master of Arts
