Inflytande i teori och praktik : En kvalitativ maktanalys över arbetet med individuella planer enligt LSS

Hallström, Maria, Olofsson, Maria January 2010 (has links)
<p>People with certain types of disabilities have the legal right to ask for an individual plan. The idea is that the plan should be a tool for the disabled to get more power and influence over the planned actions that involves their lives. The aim of this thesis was to study the individual circumstances of interpersonal power and influence in the work of individual plans. The study was done with a qualitative approach, where three executing officers and three individuals were interviewed. The results show that the conditions for the individual’s influence are far more complicated than at first glance. The influence depends on a number of parameters, from the executing officer’s response and inclusion of the individuals, to how the staffs of the operators receive and implement the individual plan. The shortcomings in the implementation were due to the staff having different views than the individual, representatives and executing officers on what to do and what the individual wanted. The thesis conclusions were that the individual's influence depends on the discourse about disability and the work culture prevailing in the workplace. Influence is given from the person that has the power position in the relationship.</p>

Responding to diversity, constructing difference : a comparative case-study of individual planning in schools in England and Portugal

Figueiredo Alves, Ines January 2015 (has links)
This thesis is a comparative case-study of how teachers in England and Portugal conceptualise and respond to pupil diversity in the context of individual planning. The purpose is to compare the processes and underlying assumptions in the two countries, in order to understand the impact of cultural aspects and of system characteristics on the phenomenon of individual planning. The research was conducted through a nested case-study approach in 10 schools in England and six schools in Portugal. The methods used were interviews with practitioners and analysis of individual planning documents. This study was done by following the cases of 41 pupils, who were identified by their teachers as ‘needing individual planning’, over a two-year period. The most common form of individual planning mentioned in educational policy are Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for pupils with ‘Special Education Needs’ (e.g. UK SEN 2001 Code of Practice, Portuguese Law 3/2008). Despite the apparent similarities, what is meant by IEPs in educational policy varies significantly. In this study, a comparative analytical cultural-historical framework (Artiles & Dyson 2005) and a ‘societal approach’ (Hantrais & Mangen 2007) were useful theoretical resources to overcome these challenges. This thesis presents an original approach to individual planning by looking beyond ‘special needs’ and national boundaries. The research identifies responses associated with individual planning and problematizes this practice as a solution to the challenges posed by student diversity to schools. This process is done with reference to the unstated assumptions about normality and difference proposed by Minow (1990).The study concludes that teachers conceptualise and respond to pupil diversity through a formulaic problem-solving approach. This approach is based on limited repertoires that are underpinned by contextual factors such as educational policy. These repertoires are wider and more flexible in England than in Portugal.

Arbetsterapeuters erfarenheter av samordnad individuell planering upprättad tillsammans med strokepatienter / Occupational therapists’ experiences of coordinated individual planning established together with stroke patients

Forsgren, Lena, Garnes, Maria January 2022 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to describe occupational therapists’ experiences of coordinated individual planning [CIP] established together with stroke patients. In order to answer the purpose the authors chose to use a qualitative method with interviews to collect data. Nine occupational therapists working in region and municipality in Sweden were interviewed. Data was analyzed based on a descriptive qualitative content analysis which resulted in four categories: Important but disregarded; Digital communication and collaboration in CIP; Patient focus; Difficulties and obstacles in coordinating the plan. The results of the study showed that occupational therapists’ had varying experiences of collaboration in CIP after the introduction of the law on collaboration in discharge from inpatient health care [LUS]. Overarching agreements that were interpreted differently limited communication and systems used were not perceived as user-friendly and difficult to work with. The discharge process had changed after the introduction of LUS, which has led to uncertainty about the procedure with CIP. The results of the study can help to shed light on the role of occupational therapists in CIP established together with stroke patients after the introduction of LUS. There is a need for research that focuses on clarifying the occupational therapist's role in CIP for both their own and other professions, as well as research on collaboration between organizations.

Jana Súkeníková The thesis is focused on the importance and effectiveness of individual planning for children from socially disadvantaged environment in low-threshold services for children and youth. Part of the work concerns the threshold services, followed by a general description of the target group, list of interventions with which social workers operate. As an important part of my job I see definition of living situations, reflexive environmental management and social functioning. The theoretical part is further given a pivotal chapter on individual planning that underpins the empirical section. The practical part includes qualitative research strategy, the main technique was chosen semi-structured interview. The survey is focused on how clients of low-threshold services perceive individual planning. Considering the results of, which I was gone, I realized that the low-threshold services is an appropriate way we can explain to clients that with them we need to create individual planning to a specific period. So I think that from the foregoing that I fulfilled a goal that I set a positive is overlap in my other practical work...

Habiliteringsplanering - begripligt, hanterbart och meningsfullt : Förbättringsarbete för att öka familjernas delaktighet i habiliteringsplanering / Habilitation planning - comprehensible, manageable and meaningful : An improvement project to increase families' participation in Habilitation planning

Sällvin, Maja January 2018 (has links)
Metod: Ett lokalt förbättringsarbete kring habiliteringsplanering genomfördes enligt strukturen i Nolans förbättringsmodell. / Background: The work process of Habilitation planning embraces several central aspects in healthcare today, such as person centered care, participation, shared decision-making, co-production and individual planning. The work process represents a view that combines the patient’s knowledge and experience with the clinician’s professional knowledge, to create good care.    Aim: An improvement project was conducted at a habilitation center, aiming to increase families’ perceived participation in Habilitation planning. The aim of the study was to explore the co-workers’ experiences of Habilitation planning.   Method: A local improvement project was conducted based on the Improvement model. A case study with focus group interviews and a qualitative content analysis was performed. The analysis was connected to espoused theory and theory-in-use.   Result: All nine parents asked, perceived themselves as involved and the percentage of Habilitation planning judged as being of good quality increased from 14 to 19%. The study results showed great gaps between espoused theory and theory-in-use, e.g. for team work.   Conclusion: To make Habilitation planning a work process really adding value to the patients, the gap between espoused theory and theory-in-use needs to decrease. Addressing this with improvement knowledge requires useful measurements.

Individuální plánování jako nástroj sociální integrace uživatelů služby Domova pro seniory Třebíč / Individual planning as a tool for social integration of service users Retirement Home Třebíč.

DOLEČKOVÁ, Olga January 2015 (has links)
In my diploma thesis I deal with the issue of individual planning as an important tool for social integration of seniors after their entering into the residential social services - Retirement Home Třebíč. The issue of population aging and the seniors seeking residential social services becomes an important issue today and it is related to the increasing length of human life. This thesis consists of a theoretical and an empirical part. The theoretical part is divided into eleven chapters and includes the basic issues related to the main research question. In the empirical part of the diploma thesis there is the goal stated, which is to chart a setting of the individual planning process in the Retirement Home Třebíč. A qualitative research method was applied for a data collection and a sub-analysis method was chosen to create groups (clumps). The major research question for this thesis was established: "Does the individual planning in the Retirement Home Třebíč serve for social integration of the service users?" To answer the main research question, five specific research questions were defined: 1. Are the physiological needs of the users being fulfilled? 2. Is the clients' need for security being fulfilled? 3. Are the social needs of clients being fulfilled? 4. Is the need of clients' autonomy being fulfilled, 5. Are clients satisfied with the individual planning? The research work itself was conducted in two phases. A preliminary research was performed in the first phase and only then the research itself followed. The resulting data were structured and presented according to the specific research questions. The research showed that the respondents are satisfied with individual planning in the Retirement Home Třebíč. In order for the social integration of service users to be complete, not only social but also physiological needs, the need for security and autonomy of residents' needs should be fulfilled. Only if a full range of needs is fulfilled completely, one can speak of a functioning social integration. The research also revealed that all respondents have a key worker and know her name. They identically also answered the question whether they have an individual plan of care formed for them. It reflects wishes of the user if the provided services of the home allow that. To answer the main research question "Does the individual planning in the Senior Home Třebíč serve for social integration of the service users?" my answer is yes. One of the important areas that affect the individual planning and service users' satisfaction is a mutual communication between the residents and staff of the facility. Their proactive approach is of great importance in all areas assessed. In the interviews, clients also repeatedly praised the friendly atmosphere in the home. This thesis should expand awareness of an individual planning in a retirement home among students, home workers, especially key employees, but also the general public.

Individuální plánování jako nástroj pro zvyšování kvality sociální služby osobní asistence u lidí s těžkým tělesným postižením a seniorů v Praze / Individual planning as a tool of quality increasing social service of personal assistance in people with disability and seniors in Praha

SEDLÁKOVÁ, Kateřina January 2013 (has links)
This diploma thesis is concerned with individual planning with regard to the social service of personal assistance. The theoretical part contains a description of the origin and history of personal assistance in the world and in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part elaborates in detail on the no. 5 standard of quality of services provided and its four criteria. It also provides an overview of existing approaches toward individual planning of the social service of personal assistance for the target group of people with physical disabilities and seniors, including their positives and negatives, which the system of individual planning brings to providers of the social service of personal assistance and its users. The diploma thesis had two goals. The first was to ascertain the value of individual planning for users of the social service of personal assistance. The second was to assess the benefits that individual planning brings to organizations that provide the social service of personal assistance to people with serious physical disabilities and seniors with regard to improving the efficacy of the work of their employees. The practical part is based on qualitative research, with the main method of data collection being semi-structured interviews. The results showed that users do not see a major change in the way personal assistance is provided after the introduction of the individual planning system when compared to the situation before. Users mainly appreciated the fact that assistants are well-prepared even before the provision of assistance starts. This factor was unequivocally praised as a positive and a reason why individual planning should be introduced. In conclusion, the only negative aspect of individual planning for the employees was considered to be a higher administrative load, which, however, they were able to handle in the end, according their responses. On the other hand, both groups considered the greater level of preparedness of the social workers ? personal assistants during their social work a big benefit.
