Heizelementschweißen von Bauteilen großer Wanddicke

Friedrich, Fabian, Gehde, Michael, Seefried, Andreas 06 December 2023 (has links)

Nanometers-Thick Ferromagnetic Surface Produced by Laser Cutting of Diamond

Setzer, Annette, Esquinazi, Pablo D., Buga, Sergei, Georgieva, Milena T., Reinert, Tilo, Venus, Tom, Estrela-Lopis, Irina, Ivashenko, Andrei, Bondarenko, Maria, Böhlmann, Winfried, Meijer, Jan 02 June 2023 (has links)
In this work, we demonstrate that cutting diamond crystals with a laser (532 nm wavelength, 0.5 mJ energy, 200 ns pulse duration at 15 kHz) produced a ≲20 nm thick surface layer with magnetic order at room temperature. We measured the magnetic moment of five natural and six CVD diamond crystals of different sizes, nitrogen contents and surface orientations with a SQUID magnetometer. A robust ferromagnetic response at 300 K was observed only for crystals that were cut with the laser along the (100) surface orientation. The magnetic signals were much weaker for the (110) and negligible for the (111) orientations. We attribute the magnetic order to the disordered graphite layer produced by the laser at the diamond surface. The ferromagnetic signal vanished after chemical etching or after moderate temperature annealing. The obtained results indicate that laser treatment of diamond may pave the way to create ferromagnetic spots at its surface.

Enhanced Magnetoelectric Coupling in BaTiO3-BiFeO3 Multilayers—An Interface Effect

Hohenberger, Stefan, Jochum, Johanna K., Van Bael, Margriet J., Temst, Kristiaan, Patzig, Christian, Höche, Thomas, Grundmann, Marius, Lorenz, Michael 20 April 2023 (has links)
Combining various (multi-)ferroic materials into heterostructures is a promising route to enhance their inherent properties, such as the magnetoelectric coupling in BiFeO3 thin films. We have previously reported on the up-to-tenfold increase of the magnetoelectric voltage coefficient αME in BaTiO3-BiFeO3 multilayers relative to BiFeO3 single layers. Unraveling the origin and mechanism of this enhanced effect is a prerequisite to designing new materials for the application of magnetoelectric devices. By careful variations in the multilayer design we now present an evaluation of the influences of the BaTiO3-BiFeO3 thickness ratio, oxygen pressure during deposition, and double layer thickness. Our findings suggest an interface driven effect at the core of the magnetoelectric coupling effect in our multilayers superimposed on the inherent magnetoelectric coupling of BiFeO3 thin films, which leads to a giant αME coefficient of 480 Vcm−1 Oe−1 for a 16×(BaTiO3-BiFeO3) superlattice with a 4.8 nm double layer periodicity.

Preliminary Biomechanical Evaluation of a Novel Exoskeleton Robotic System to Assist Stair Climbing

Böhme, Max, Köhler, Hans-Peter, Thiel, Robert, Jäkel, Jens, Zentner, Johannes, Witt, Maren 21 March 2024 (has links)
A novel exoskeleton robotic system was developed to assist stair climbing. This active demonstrator consists of a motor with a cable system, various sensors, and a control system with a power supply. The objective of this preliminary study is a biomechanical evaluation of the novel system to determine its effectiveness in use. For this purpose, three test persons were biomechan- ically investigated, who performed stair ascents and descents with and without the exoskeleton. Kinematics, kinetics, and muscle activity of the knee extensors were measured. The measured data were biomechanically simulated in order to evaluate the characteristics of joint angles, moments, and reaction forces. The results show that the new exoskeleton assists both the ascent and the descent according to the measured surface electromyography (sEMG) signals, as the knee extensors are relieved by an average of 19.3%. In addition, differences in the interaction between the test persons and the system were found. This could be due to a slightly different operation of the assisting force or to the different influence of the system on the kinematics of the users.

Tfap2b acts in GABAergic neurons to control sleep in mice

Hu, Yang, Bringmann, Henrik 06 November 2024 (has links)
Sleep is a universal state of behavioral quiescence in both vertebrates and invertebrates that is controlled by conserved genes. We previously found that AP2 transcription factors control sleep in C. elegans, Drosophila, and mice. Heterozygous deletion of Tfap2b, one of the mammalian AP2 paralogs, reduces sleep in mice. The cell types and mechanisms through which Tfap2b controls sleep in mammals are, however, not known. In mice, Tfap2b acts during early embryonic stages. In this study, we used RNA-seq to measure the gene expression changes in brains of Tfap2b−/− embryos. Our results indicated that genes related to brain development and patterning were differentially regulated. As many sleep-promoting neurons are known to be GABAergic, we measured the expression of GAD1, GAD2 and Vgat genes in different brain areas of adult Tfap2b+/− mice using qPCR. These experiments suggested that GABAergic genes are downregulated in the cortex, brainstem and cerebellum areas, but upregulated in the striatum. To investigate whether Tfap2b controls sleep through GABAergic neurons, we specifically deleted Tfap2b in GABAergic neurons. We recorded the EEG and EMG before and after a 6-h period of sleep deprivation and extracted the time spent in NREM and in REM sleep as well as delta and theta power to assess NREM and REM sleep, respectively. During baseline conditions, Vgat-tfap2b−/− mice exhibited both shortened NREM and REM sleep time and reduced delta and theta power. Consistently, weaker delta and theta power were observed during rebound sleep in the Vgat-tfap2b−/− mice after sleep deprivation. Taken together, the results indicate that Tfap2b in GABAergic neurons is required for normal sleep.

Jean Baudrillard und die Ära des Verschwindens, oder: Das Verschwinden des Jean Baudrillard?: Überlegungen zur deutschen Baudrillard-Rezeption

Horlacher, Stefan 10 March 2020 (has links)

Comparison of the Dissipation Factor of Insulating Resins With and Without Anhydride Curing Agents

Linde, Thomas, Backhaus, Karsten, Stahl, Jürgen, Kaffenberger, Theo 03 November 2021 (has links)
The most main wall insulations of rotating electrical high voltage machines consists of several layers of wound mica tape impregnated with epoxy resins. Methylhexahydrophthalic anhydride and Hexahydrophthalic anhydride are the state-of-the-art curing agents in epoxy insulations and are therefore essential components of the insulation system. Both anhydrides were proposed to the candidate list of Substances of Very High Concern and are therefore part of the European REACH authorization process. The prohibition or restricted use of both anhydrides in Europe in the future is possible and puts high pressure on the European manufacturers of electrical devices. Possible substitutes are available, but have to be qualified e.g. with respect to their dielectric properties. Hence, this paper compares several insulating resin systems with and without anhydride curing agents regarding their dielectric loss behavior. The results reveal that the curing agent has a measurable effect on the dielectric losses. Furthermore, the investigated anhydride-free insulation systems are a viable substitute at least with regard to their dielectric losses.

Induktion der Eicosanoide bei Gesunden und Patienten mit Sepsis

Ludwig, Ute 08 December 2015 (has links)
