Adoption intention of Clound Computing Technologies by enterprises

Wang, Jen-Hua 18 July 2012 (has links)
The cloud technology has become the hot topics of the information technology industry in these recent years, and it is one of the focal point intellectual industry in our government. However, most of enterprises still have some concerns for cloud technology. The information security of the cloud technology, the profitability and the cost saving for the enterprise and the others are the major concerned factors for the enterprises The aim of this study is to comprehend the market of cloud technology does really understand what the enterprise¡¦s intention for using cloud technology, does really understand what the key-points are the enterprises¡¦ intentions about adopting the cloud technology. And the risks influence that enterprise is facing when using the cloud technology. The third one is that using the subjective product knowledge measure how much the enterprises understanding of cloud technology. This study used questionnaire type, and there are the measurable samples of 228 in this study. Using SPSS and partial least squares method (the partial least squares, PLS) analyze the descriptive and path analysis. The results of the research are, the subjective product knowledge positively affects the risks of the enterprises using cloud technology. Most of the risk factors, such as the financial risk, safety risk, technology risk and human risk, negative affect the intension for enterprises using the cloud technology. And the subjective product knowledge positively affects the enterprises adopting cloud technology. According to the research findings, this study provides useful insight for the further development of the cloud technology.

A Study of e-Procurement Adoption by MRO Supplier of Taiwan¡¦s Steel Industry and It¡¦s Impact on Supply Chain

Lin, Shi-Long 16 February 2005 (has links)
The view of procurement and partnership management with the supplier has been drastically changed for many enterprises, because of the emergence of Internet and Electrical Commerce in the present age. The way of competition between enterprises has been combined into the supply chain. We believe that the implementation of e-procurement will contribute to the increasing of gross profit, benefit and competitiveness undoubtedly. For the big firm like integrated steel mill, it is definitely necessary to simplify the complicated purchasing procedure, so that the tactical issue of e-procurement just can create high value from the procurement. In this thesis, an Innovation Adoption model is proposed to study the e-procurement adoption intention by MRO supplier of Taiwan¡¦s steel industry, and it¡¦s impact on supply chain also has been evaluated. Based on relevant research, the Innovation Diffusion adoption model in the thesis is proposed, which is composed of three major perspectives including environment, organization, and e-procurement technology factor. Besides, related issues in each perspectives are also addressed. Furthermore, two perspectives of partnership and achievement of supplier are also proposed to study the impact of the performance of supply chain. The conclusion of this research indicates that supplier will increase the intension of adopting e-procurement depends on buyer¡¦s resource support as well as buyer¡¦s coercive power. In addition, top management support of supplier is a important factor for the adoption. Besides, market share and transaction frequency in the e-procurement represent buyer being a significant customer will enforce the will of supplier to corporate with buyer to adopt e-procurement. Furthermore, result from regression analysis shows that Trust is major influential factor for the performance of supply chain. However, influence of Trust will be reduced, because of perceived cost being emphasized. The transaction mechanism of e-procurement should provide a fair and transparency transaction platform, so that supplier will corporate to enforce the performance of entire supply chain. According to the research result, some of the advisements for the supplier and buyer were also discussed in thesis

The relationships of interpersonal communication, sales people's expertise, relationship benefit and purchase intension

Yu, Chien-hui 06 September 2010 (has links)
Abstract Department Stores are highly interpersonal communicated in the service industry. Products and services should be delivered through the service employees. In the process of interaction with customers , service employees could deliver the expertise of products and services , discover what is customers need , offer them appropriate services and then build the long term relationship with them. So service employees play very important roles in building long term relationship with customers. In reviewing literatures about relationship marketing and purchase intension, previous researches use¡urelationship quality¡vas the mediator mostly to discuss the relationship between relationship marketing and purchase intension, or In the surveys of this study, this research study wants to find how service employees expressions affecting the customers perceived relationship benefits and reach the purposes as below: 1.Discussing the salespersons¡¦ expertise could positive affect the customers perceived relationship benefits. 2.Discussing the interpersonal communication between service sales and customers could positive affect purchase intension. 3.Discussing the customers perceived relationship benefits could positive affect purchase intension. 4.Discussing if relationship benefits play as the mediator between interpersonal communication ¡Bsalespersons¡¦ expertise and purchase intension. Structural Equation Modeling is used in this research. The followings are four points of conclusions¡G 1.Salesperson¡¦s expertise positive affect the confidence benefit and social benefit. 2.Interpersonal communication between service employees and customers positive affect confidence benefit¡Bsocial benefit and special treatment benefit. 3.Confidence benefit and social benefit positive affect customer¡¦s purchasing intension. 4.Confidence benefit¡Bsocial benefit are mediators between interpersonal communication¡Bsalespersons expertise and customers purchasing intension. The conclusions of this research could offer department stores to develop appropriate customer relationship strategies and have great improvement in their business.

A new insight into Gödel's notion of concept through the Max-Phil

Mertens, Amélie 12 December 2015 (has links)
Our work aims at studying the unpublished texts of Kurt Gödel, known as the Max-Phil, in which the author develops his philosophical thought. This study follows the specific issue of conceptual realism which is adopted by Gödel in his published texts (during his lifetime or posthumously), and according to which concepts are independent of our definitions and constructions. We want to show that a consistent interpretation of the Max-Phil is possible. To do so, we propose an interpretation of some excerpts, which, even if it is only hypothetical, can give new elements in order to answer open questions of the published texts, e.g. questions about conceptual realism. This last position is not understandable without explaining Gödel’s notion of concept. For him, concepts are logical and objective entities, and they are at the core of a theory of concepts, which is conceived as an intensional logic, following Leibniz’s scientia generalis. The analysis of the Max-Phil underlines that we can understand the notion of concept and the primacy of conceptual realism over mathematical realism only in the light of Gödel’s metaphysical frame, i.e. of a monadology inspired by Leibniz. Thus the Max-Phil shows how Gödel reinvestigates Leibnizian monadology, and offers some clues on the modifications he makes on it in order to include concepts. The examination of this metaphysical frame tends to elucidate the relationships between objective concepts, subjective concepts (as we know them) and symbols (through which we express concepts), and also the relationship between logic and mathematics.

O projeto davidsoniano de uma semântica composicional para as línguas naturais / The davidsonian project of a compositional semantics for natural languages

Navarro, Michel P. Assis 21 July 2017 (has links)
In this dissertation I carry out a sistematic exposition and examination of Donald Davidsons semantic project to construct a compositional theory of meaning for natural languages by exploring the recursive structure of an interpretative truth theory à lá Tarski. In this strategy, a theory of meaning must be able to capture the general linguistic ability of any speaker of a language to produce and interpret new sentences. The requirement that the theory be compositional is the fundamental criterion that guides Davidson\'s enterprise and ii is at the basis of the project of elucidating the compositional aspect of meaning via the use of a theory of truth of the Tarskian type. I argue that Davidson\'s project attempts to lay the groundwork for a research program on natural language semantics which, while not hegemonic in the field and viewed with skepticism by some, is the only example so far of an attempt to systematically illuminate the compositional aspect of the meanings of broad fragments of natural languages without a direct appeal to abstract entities associated with the expressions of a language, such as properties, senses, propositions, intensions, etc. Two topics about the project received detailed attention. Firstly, I focus on issues of philosophical foundations raised by the proposal. I approach Davidson\'s objections to theories that quantify over meanings by discussing the problems he identifies in analyzes that reify the intensional layer of the meanings of the expressions of a language, especially neo-Fregean systems, such as those proposed by Rudolf Carnap and Alonzo Church. Based partly on Davidson\'s criticism, which is scarcely examined in the literature, and without which there is a risk of a misinterpretation of the ambitions of the project, I maintain, along with the neo-Davidsonian semanticists Ernie Lepore & Kirk Ludwig (2005; 2007), that Davidson does not attempt to provide a semantics which is characterized by substituting or reducing a theory of meaning to a truth theory. The idea is that a compositional theory of meaning can be presented as a body of knowledge about an interpretive truth theory. Davidson does not seek to eliminate the intensional layer of the expressions. What is sought is to avoid its reification. Another part of the thesis focuses on the effort to accommodate in the theory a set of linguistic phenomena proper to natural languages: context-sensitive expressions such as personal and demonstrative pronouns, which force the relativization of the truth predicate of to the contexts of use; Restricted quantification; Sentences with action verbs that describe causal relationships between events; Opaque contexts created by sentences with propositional attitude verbs, and the difficulty of dealing with these contexts without introducing intensional entities. I also examine the foundational aspects of Lepore & Ludwig\'s semantics, which undoubtedly widens the scope of linguistic phenomena that can be explained by a theory motivated by Davidson\'s project. In the authors\' method, it is established, among other conditions - following Davidsons approach - that it is not enough to know the informational content expressed by the axioms of a theory of truth. It is also necessary to know what content the axioms convey. That is, one has to know the meanings of the axioms. By systematizing this knowledge in the form of a theory, they associate, through a list, a sense/intension to each axiom. For each expression of the object language there must be an axiom in the theory, and the meaning of this axiom must be the content of the semanticist / interpreter\'s knowledge so that he is able to employ a truth theory to interpret the subsentential expressions and the sentences of the object language. If my observation is correct, in the structure of the authors theory the reification of the meanings of the axioms occurs, which would be a strong indication that the semantics they construct does not fulfill the purpose of being a theory immune to the introduction of intensional entities. Moreover, this association of a semantic content to each axiom via quantification seems to imply a more serious question: the signaling of intensional objects to the expressions of the object language. Thus, if my considerations are correct, the semantics of the authors seems not to be configured as an alternative to neo-Fregean theories, in the sense of fulfilling what they do, without in the structure of the theory having to postulate intensional entities.

A family business brand image: Associations affecting consumers’ buying behavior : A study on family business Dafgård, frozen foods

Ramdharie, Priscilla, Brinxma, Derk January 2012 (has links)
Family business research is a rapidly growing topic of interest. Nevertheless there has been little research explicitly dedicated to the connection between consumers’ and family businesses. This paper gives insight about the influence of the family business brand image and consumers’ purchase intentions. Hereby it was taken into consideration  that  low-involvement and product knowledge can influence this path. This was done by a combination of qualitative and quantitative approaches. The findings showed that consumers associate family business with high quality, passion, heritage, traditions, small companies and craftsmanship. In general these associations do not influence consumers buying behavior. However, specific target groups showed different results. Implications focus on using the family business as a secondary brand image and family businesses should deal with caution when using their origin as a primary brand image.

Factors that affect the work values and turnover intension of Chinese employees in Taiwanese-owned companies

Yeh, Chih-Hsing 26 February 2004 (has links)
Whether or not the employees have demonstrated all their abilities, or whether the separation is rising. These are all questions that the manager will have to confront.A high separation is a lost of company. Document research showed that employees who have higher performance evaluation have a lower turnover intension to resign. This research discussed the variables that affected organizational commitment. It surveyed Chinese and Taiwanese employees in Taiwanese-owned companies in evaluation (three branches: result evaluation, award evaluation, and improvement valuation) as independent variables to regression analysis Taiwanese business¡¦s performance management and its effects on Chinese employees¡¦ turnover intension. Most of the specialists of organization behavior put personal values and personal character as one of the variables that affect turnover intension. Thus, this research set personal values and personal character as the adjusting factors. The results were that some personal values and personal character interacted with each other and lower the employees¡¦ turnover intension. The interaction between promotional, salary justice, and adjusting factors were most explicit, and had the lower effect on employees¡¦ turnover intension.

Factors that affect the work values and turnover intension of Vietnamese employees in Taiwanese-owned companies

Fang, Hung-wen 17 June 2008 (has links)
The inflation that Taiwan encountered in the 80ies made it difficult for many Taiwan companies to gain profit from their production or make a break-trough in production technology. In addition, due to the increase of labor cost and environmental cost, as well as new policies and issues regarding global trading and custom, many of them have reduced or cut their production lines when the production conditions have become worse and worse. In search of better utilization of existing production resource, facilities and lower labor cost, some of the Taiwan companies have moved their factories to Vietnam. And that brings up two issues that managers have to deal with, which is whether or not the local workforce can work efficiently and whether the turnover rate is too high. A high separation is a lost of company. Document research showed that employees who have higher performance evaluation have a lower turnover intension to resign. This research discussed the variables that affected organizational commitment. It surveyed Vietnamese and Taiwanese employees in Taiwanese-owned companies in Vietnam¡]Ho Chi Minh City¡^. Using promotional justice, salary justice, and management justice (three branches: result evaluation, award evaluation, and improvement valuation) as independent variables to regression analysis Taiwanese business¡¦s management justice and its effects on Chinese employees turnover intension. Thus, this research set personal values and personal character as the adjusting factors.
