Filosofický revizionismus v Československu mezi lety 1956-1968 / Philosophical Revisionism in Czechoslovakia between 1956 and 1968

Chramosta, Jaroslav January 2018 (has links)
The diploma thesis deals with Marxist philosophy in Czechoslovakia between 1956 and 1968, it focuses especially on Marxist humanism. The XX. Congress of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union in 1956 and the Khrushchev's critique of Stalinism gave opportunity for critical approach in Marxist philosophy. Marxist humanism came with the turn to questions of man and his world and it refused the dehumanizing system of Stalinism. The campaign against revisionism was led in regimes of the Eastern Block between 1956 and 1960 as a reaction to critical efforts in Marxist theory and practice. The campaign against revisionism was led in Czechoslovakia against efforts of separation philosophy from ideology or emphasis to Hegelian origins of Marxism. Areas where was evolving critical thinking and original approach to Marxism were arising in the 1950s and especially in 1960s in Czechoslovakia. Examples of this areas were the Institute of Philosophy of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences and the dialogue between Marxists and Christians. In this thesis I examine thinking of Karel Kosík, Robert Kalivoda and Milan Machovec on questions of history and man. Through these themes I show different approaches to Marxist humanism in Czechoslovakia between the 1950s and 1960s. Marxist humanism is often seen as an unitary...

Karel Velebný a třetí proud / Karel Velebný and the Third Stream

Pudlák, Jan January 2020 (has links)
This Master's thesis focuses on the specific features and phenomena in the Czech third stream in the 1960s. These specifics are identified, on the one hand, through the analysis of Karel Velebný's third streams compositions, but also through their comparison with third stream works by other Czech authors in the observed period. The resulting characteristic of the Czech third stream is then confronted with the third stream of an American author and ideological founder of this style movement, Gunther Schuller. The criterion for the inclusion of the analyzed compositions in this thesis was the presence of a certain avant-garde ambition, which, in this thesis, is understood as the use of dodecaphony or other New music compositional techniques in the context of jazz music. In the analysis, the thesis focuses on the way these compositional techniques were implemented into the structure of jazz music, but the author also observes which musical components are through this stylistic synthesis modified the most. Key words: Third stream, jazz, Karel Velebný, Pavel Blatný, Gunther Schuller

Překladové varianty Apollinairova Pásma / Translation Variations of Apollinaire's Zone

Cihlářová, Eva January 2014 (has links)
The main goal of this dissertation is comparison of different translations of the poem Zone in the czech languague. The key part of this work is an analysis of the translation of selected passage od Zone. The summary which describes each translation of the poem is elaborated on the basis of this part. We can divide the translations of Zone into three basic streams: Karel Čapek and Petr Kopta hold the reproducing style of translation. Petr Skarlant and Karel Sýs prefer a less precise translation enriched with their own invention. Gustav Francl tends rather to the reproducing concept, but we would describe his style more as modernizing. To create sufficiant information foundations for the analysis of translations, the whole first part of the dissertation is dedicated to the theory of artistic translation, the personage of Guillaume Apollinaire, the analysis of Zone and the personages of the Czech translators. Život pražských malířů v 17. a 18. století / The painter's life in Prague in the 17th and 18th centuries

Sekyrka, Tomáš January 2016 (has links)
The painter's life in Prague in the 17th and 18th centuries Tomáš Sekyrka For more than a century, the life stories of Prague-based painters in the Baroque era (which I define as 1620-1780 for the purposes of this work) have been a focus of research by art historians and other specialists. Research in this area was based to varying degrees on an analysis and interpretation of artworks and data offered by a multitude of written documents, primarily drawing information from the registers of Prague parishes (providing major dates in painters' lives), various official records of municipal authorities (corroborating, among other facts, the circumstances of painters' admission to the estates of Prague burghers or facts on property title, particularly ownership of houses), a wealth of accounting materials (about the relationship between those commissioning the artworks and the artists themselves, in particular the client's requirements and deadlines and artist's compensation). Nor did researchers neglect the unique manuscripts of the Prague painters' guilds (one in each of Prague's three towns), which provide membership lists and meeting minutes. However, a considerable amount of the historical data discovered by researchers has been used mostly to study the origin of specific artworks or to capture a certain...

Proměna tváře města Pelhřimova v 2. polovině 19. století a na počátku 20. století / The change of face of the town Pelhrimov during second half of 19th century and the early 20th century

TOMŠŮ, Jaroslava January 2010 (has links)
This thesis takes an interest in urbanistic development of Pelhrimov at the turn of 19th and 20th century. It tries to show process of the urbanization basically with an example of this town. It takes a note of evolution of small-towners` esthetical feelings and their approach to the care of historical monuments and it wants to find movers and initiators of architecture changes in the town. From this poit of view it takes an interest in regional section of Club For old Prague mainly. Mambers of the section became advisory authority in questions of rebuilding Pelhrimov during the early 20th century. They arranged contacts with Prague{\crq}s architects and historians of art. There have been realized some interesting projects thanks to them. The most telling was a cooperation with architect Pavel Janak and historian Zdenek Wirth. Pelhrimov rose from small-town{\crq}s culture for a while. But the promotion of new trends in art faced to protests of still conzervative inhabitants.

De Stijl a avantgardní umění meziválečného Československa / De Stijl and Avant-Garde Art in the Czechoslovakian Interwar Period

Pražanová, Kristýna January 2020 (has links)
The diploma thesis De Stijl and Avant-Garde Art in the Czechoslovakian Interwar Period focuses on the Dutch art movement De Stijl (1917-1931) and the relationship of its protagonists to the Czech avant-garde scene of the interwar era; both on the practical as well as theoretical level. The work aims to examine the yet rather insufficiently mapped interconnection between the creative output of De Stijl's artists, led by the movement founder Theo van Doesburg, and the body of work of Czech artists active in the First Czechoslovak Republic period. The figures of Theo van Doesburg and Karel Teige are prominent throughout the whole thesis. These two artists were considered as leading personalities and ambassadors of the avant-garde movements in their respective countries. The thesis focuses especially on architecture as the relations between the Dutch and Czech artists were the most salient and most intensive in this area.

Karel Kramář, Roman Dmowski a Rusko / Karel Kramář, Roman Dmowski and Russia

Eidrnová, Markéta January 2013 (has links)
The thesis introduces the comparison of political approaches of Karel Kramář and Roman Dmowski towards Russia or rather towards the Russian factor. At the beginning of the 20th century these two politicians from the national-democratic circles decided independently of each other to look for a help in order to achieve independence of their nations within Russia. They were not lead only by objective reasons because Russia seemed to be the most acceptable and the most appropriate variant but also by subjective feelings, like for example their antagonism towards Germans and Germany itself or in case of Karel Kramář his affection for anything Russian. The Russian factor did not disappear from their conceptions even after the creation of an independent Czechoslovakia and Poland and it continued to be a permanent part of these conceptions. Kramář was faithful to his idea of future democratic Russia and the Slavic federation headed by this new Russia and even the Bolshevik Revolution could change his mind. Kramář assumed that Czechoslovakia could only be permanently safe by the union with democratic Russia. Although Kramář laid more emphasis on the Russian factor than Dmowski, Russia did not lose its importance for Dmowski. However, the importance gradually declined after the creation of independent...

In my diploma thesis I deal with the history of the Německý (today Havlíčkův) Brod in the nineteenth century. I am watching the fate of Josefa Menšíková, Czech patriot and the local mayor's wife. But the diploma work is not limited to one region. Partly I devoted to the town history of Třebíč and Tišnov or phenomenon of Czech emigration to the United States related to the area of Nebraska. Throughout my diploma thesis, I notice the local self-government of the Německý Brod, transformation of the city and its inhabitants and fates of Josefa Menšíková friends.
