Rejha, Adam January 2016 (has links)
(in English): This diploma thesis introduces Prince Vincenz Karl Auersperg's travel diary from his journey to Great Britain undertaken in summer 1837 (title on title page: "Vincenz Carl Fürsten v. Auersperg's Reise nach England"). Diploma thesis has theoretical and practical part (in which there is Auersperg's diary edited). Vincenz Karl (1812-1867) was member of wealthy landed nobility. Thesis tries to describe his education, as well as important educator Alexis Du Rieux. Mature work (after 1837) is addressed as well: He is known as owner of Žleby Castle during castle's romantic renovation. He published two political (anonymous) brochures. Importance of the British journey (or traveling in general) in Auersperg's biography has been recognised for a long time, but was not known in detail. Most of the information about his particular British travel we have in diary (it has form of transcripts of letters addressed to his mother): Prince began his journey at the beginning of May in Vienna; stayed in Bruxelles for a week; he stayed in London between May 25th - June 28th ; after that he visited Scotland and Wales; he left Great Britain August 3rd ; he stayed in Paris from August 7th for a few weeks. Karel Hynek Mácha na střední škole / Karel Hynek Mácha: The Image of the Author at the Secondary School Level Textbooks

Chromý, Jan January 2015 (has links)
The poet Karel Hynek Mácha belongs to one of the classic writers of the Czech literature. That is the reason why this personage and his work play an important role in the teaching of literature at secondary schools. This diploma thesis analyses an important element of teaching practice. It focuses on Mácha from the point of view of literature textbooks. On the basis of synchronous comparison of these textbooks, we can find out the striking similarity since all the texts choose the same events of Mácha's life. He is appraised nearly with the same terms. The texts create an image of Mácha, the image of the author, which as a significant paratext highly influences the way new texts and other didactic materials are created and literature taught. This diploma thesis is from its bigger part a casual study bringing a detailed analysis of the contemporary image of Karel Hynek Mácha in the literature textbooks. Moreover, it offers a look at its diachronous perspective as well. The key theoretical concept of this thesis is the term image of the author which has not been a fixed part of literary criticism terminology. That is why it is widely described in the first chapter together with its relations to other concepts about the author. Keywords author, the image of the author, Karel Hynek Mácha, literature...

Osobnost a dílo autora literatury faktu v mediálních a společensko-politických metamorfozách doby / Personality and work of Karel Richter, author of the non-fiction literature in the medial and socio-political metamorphoses of time

Beneš, Martin January 2011 (has links)
The Thesis entitled "The Personality and Work of the Author of the Non fiction literature in the Media and the Socio-Political Metamorphoses of the Time" describes the influence of the various aspects of the communication process and its development (changes of the socio-political situation and the non fiction literature itself) in relation to the publicist, writer, historian and translator Karel Richter. He lived through the 1960s, the period of "normalisation" and the 1990s, when the market economy witnessed a rapid development - including the publishing sector. The work describes the metamorphosis of the communication process in retrieving information, the pursuit of political communication in relation to the non fiction literature and other aspects of this genre of the author's works. It focuses on the political and economic influences, which affected Richter's work, and the influence of his work in the media back on him. The Thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part sums up scientific works written about the non fiction literature genre. In his own analyses Richter, too, tries to characterize the genre and its basic problem, which rests in non-established and diverse definitions often contradicting each other. This chapter also sums up the development of...

Fiksie en identiteitskonstruksie: 'n beskouing van selfnarratiewe

Burger, Willem Daniël 31 October 2008 (has links)
M.Phil. / This study is undertaken against the backdrop of the "narrativistic turn" in the human sciences. While narratives were traditionally regarded as the terrain of literary studies, it has increasingly become a focus in various disciplines since the 1970s. The usefulness of the concept "narrative identity" is investigated as a means to deal with the problematization of the subject (and personal identity) in postmodern thought. The influence of 20th Century language theory and constructionism on the problematization of the subject is also discussed. It is argued that the self (and personal identity) can not be regarded as a pre-existing subject that simply finds expression in narratives (as sometimes happens in narrative therapy). Such a view would presuppose a pre-linguistic cogito. The self (and personal identity) is not readily available for examination by the self. From a hermeneutical point of view, the self is always an interpretation. Paul Ricoeur's discussion of "narrative identity" is used tot discuss the processes of identity construction in self-narratives. The way in which a "narrative identity" is constructed in a self-narrative is examined with reference to Karel Schoeman's autobiography (Die laaste Afrikaanse boek – literally "The Last Afrikaans Book"). An autobiography is a representation of a life in which a subject is self-consciously constructing an identity. This specific autobiography makes explicit, self-conscious use of literary devices and refers to literary texts which makes it possible to examine the influence of fiction on self-narratives. In the process of this study it is demonstrated that insights provided by literary studies could contribute to narrative psychology and in this sense it is demonstrated that the strict boundaries that often exist between disciplines could be dissolved. Various ways by which the study of literature could contribute to the expansion of the hermeneutical basis on which individuals base their self-narratives, and the spin-offs for narrative therapy, is the most important result of the study. Some gains of narratology (within literary analysis) for narrative therapy are also examined.

Karel Havlíček Borovský jako zakladatel českého ekonomického učení? Příspěvek k dějinám českého ekonomického myšlení. / Karel Havlicek Borovsky founder of Czech economic thought? Ppart of the history of Czech economic thought

Brožek, Jan January 2012 (has links)
The aim of my paper is a critical examination of the thesis, held by Czech public professionals, that Karel Havlíček Borovský was the founder of Czech economic thinking. I begin with the premise that Havlíček was primarily an economic journalist with a basic knowledge of liberal thinking, which he wanted to interpret for the general Czech public in his articles, in order to familiarize the upcoming "Czech national movement" with the basics of economic theory. Based on the methodology of the History of Ideas, I want to show how liberalism looked in the Czech region of the 19th Century, to focus on the social stratification of Czech society and illustrate the difference between a scientist and journalist. In my work, I want to not only deal with That Havlíček wrote in his texts, but would also like to take into account an analysis of the interests of the "Czech national movement" in the 19th Century.
