Fysioterapeuters syn på skadeförebyggande träning för knäskador inom fotboll : -en kvalitativ intervjustudie / Physiotherapists view on injury prevention for knee injuries in soccer. : -A qualitative interview studyForsberg, Sandra, Englund, Emilia January 2020 (has links)
Background: Soccer is one of the largest sports in the world and one of the foremost in Sweden. Injuries are common in the sport where knee injuries are one of the most common. Research shows that injury prevention reduces the injury incidence, but few studies have explored Swedish physiotherapists views on injury prevention in soccer. Purpose: The purpose was to investigate physiotherapists views and experiences of injury prevention for knee injuries, among physiotherapists employed by Swedish soccer teams. Method: A qualitative design was used. Five semi-structured interviews were conducted. Qualitative content analysis was used in data processing. Results: The result shows that the participants have a varied view of injury prevention. The physiotherapists describe the importance of good training planning, training of stability and control, neuromuscular control and time for recovery. Furthermore, knowledge should be communicated to players and coaches about injury prevention to increase implementation. Mental preparation is also seen as an important factor in reducing the risk of injury. The physiotherapists in the study all knew about the knee control program and felt that it is a well-designed program with good and simple exercises, but the program can be shortened. Conclusion: The knee control program, neuromuscular warm up and that players have good knee control are an important aspects of injury prevention. The physiotherapists emphasized mental preparation as an important factor, which was not emphasized in previous studies. Further studies are needed to investigate the importance of mental preparation.

The effect of the Anderson Knee Stabler on various components of knee functionTedeschi, Alfred J. 01 January 1984 (has links)
The use of knee braces in the past has been to protect and prevent further injury to a previously damaged knee. An Example of one such knee brace is the Lennox-Hill Derotation knee brace. This brace is used to assist the athlete who has a rotatory knee instability from a previous injury. (Klafs and Arnheim, 1977.)
The problem of this study is to determine the possible effects of the Anderson Knee Stabler on mean isometric torque output in the knee extensor, mean isokinetic torque output at several speeds in the knee extensors and performance on the SEMO Agility Test in college football
This study is important because it will assess the functional capability of an athlete wearing this given brace. Also, if significant differences are not achieved it will serve as a means of promoting this brace to those who may be reluctant to use it. If significant results are achieved then athletic trainers and coaches may have to rethink whether this brace is impairing the performance of their athletes.

Occlusion Training as Rehabilitation after ACL-injury : A Review and Meta-analysis / Ocklusionsträning som rehabilitering efter skada på främre korsbandet : En översikt och meta-analysAndersson, Isak January 2022 (has links)
A common issue after injuries with or without surgery is muscular atrophy. Every year approximately 8000 individuals injure their ACL only in Sweden and 4000 undergo surgery. Rehabilitation usually consists of strength training and 70 % of 1RM is a preferred weightwhen trying to build strength and muscle. This systematic review and meta-analysis were investigating the effect of occlusion training after ACL injury compared to traditional rehabilitation, measured with knee function, muscle strength, pain and muscle mass. In this review PubMed, Cinahl, Sportsmedicine & Education index, Cochrane Library, SportDiscus and Web of Science were used for the database search. Two independent authors performed the selection process, GRADE and risk of bias assessment. A total of nine studies were included for the synthesis where four could be included in the meta-analysis. No significant difference were found in the meta-analysis looking at muscle mass. No meta-analysis could be performed on knee function, muscle strength or knee pain. There was a significant difference in the intervention group performing occlusion training compared to the control group when looking at knee pain and knee function, but could not be verified bymeta-analysis. In conclusion occlusion training compared with traditional rehabilitation occlusion training seem to reduce experienced pain during training, increase knee function, preserve more muscle mass and give similar results in strength after 16 days to 16 weeks post ACLR.

Artiklar har sökts i databaserna Pubmed, Discover, Medline, Scopus, Web of Science.

A Finite Element Analysis of Tibial Stem Geometry for Total Knee ReplacementsBautista, Aaron Isidro 01 June 2015 (has links) (PDF)
The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of tibial stem geometry on stress shielding of the tibia for patients with a total knee replacement. Finite element analysis was used to study different tibial stem geometry types, as well as a vast array of different geometric sizes. Both a peg and stem type geometry were analyzed and compared in order to determine what type geometry causes the least amount of stress shielding. A static loading condition with a dynamic loading factor of three was used for the system and the stress responses were analyzed at regions of interest at various depths. Regions of interest include the posterior and medial regions, at depths ranging from the resurfaced tibial surface to 100 mm below the surface. It was found that the smallest stem/peg sizes produced the least amount of stress shielding, indicating that the less amount of foreign material within the tibia, the more natural the bending and stress response of the tibia. It was also concluded that for the loading conditions used in this study, peg type geometry yields a decreased amount of stress shielding when compared to stem type geometry. This is due to the fact that the peg type geometry allowed for more natural bending and a distributed loading transfer between two pegs rather than one long central stem. Further studies should be completed on other geometry types in order to understand how to best replicate the natural bending of the tibia.

Design and Prototyping of an Integrated Powered Hip and Microprocessor-Controlled Knee Unit for Hip-Knee-Ankle-Foot ProsthesesBader, Yousef 04 July 2023 (has links)
Hip-knee-ankle-foot (HKAF) prostheses are full lower limb devices for people with hip amputations. They are designed to enable individuals to regain their mobility and move freely with little restriction. HKAFs typically have high rejection rates among users, as well as gait asymmetry and increased trunk anterior-posterior lean and pelvic tilt. In this thesis, a novel integrated hip-knee (IHK) unit was designed and evaluated to address the limitations of existing solutions. This IHK combines powered hip and microprocessor controlled knee joints into one structure, with shared electronics, sensors, and batteries. The unit is also adjustable to the user leg length by a prosthetist. ISO-10328 standard mechanical testing demonstrated acceptable structural safety and rigidity. Successful functional testing involved three able-bodied participants walking with the IHK in a hip prosthesis simulator. Hip and knee joint angles and pelvic tilt angles were recorded, gait characteristics were analyzed using video recordings. Testing showed that the participants were able to walk using the IHK, and data showed that participants used different walking strategies. Points of improvement were identified for future development of the thigh unit, including completion of a synergistic gait control system, improved battery holding mechanism, and amputee user testing.
