At present Getinge can offer a new generation of trolleys that they produced in 2011. The trolley used to Getinge various autoclaves and has the primary task to help the user/sterilization personnel to transport shelves or baskets, with or without cargo, from a packing table to the autoclave. The purpose of this thesis has been to develop a primary solution how the docking process between Getinge trolleys and autoclaves can be improved. The work has in most part followed Fredy Olsson principle and primary construction method. The work has included product research, study visit and development of a requirements specification, to satisfy Getinge, their clients and circumvention products requirements. Using this information, it was taken up various product proposals were screened out by testing prototype and study of Cad-model, until only one product suggestions residue. The product proposal led to a primary solution that was designed and calculated in CATIA V5 and a simple prototype of the primary solution. The work resulted in a new loading area to Getinge trolleys. The loading area will help users on sterilization stations through an increased precision tolerance, which facilitate the docking process between the trolley and autoclave.

This thesis describes possibilities for Metso Paper to lower their costs of spray pipes for their pulp wash press TRPE, with maintained good functionality and quality. Information that can be used by competitors has been censored in this version of the essay. To find solutions, alternative suppliers have been contacted and asked to quote. There has also been a new spray pipe designed. The manufacturing costs of the new design have been calculated. The thesis also contains a concept generation of an alternative product to the spray pipes in installations where a high pressure washer is used. To be able to ask other manufacturers of spray pipes to quote, a demand specification based on the currently used spray pipe was made. This was then sent to two alternative suppliers. An investigation of earlier used spray pipes, and the currently used, shows that the nozzles are a big part of the total costs of the spray pipes. To attempt to reduce the nozzles high cost an concept generation was made to find the best solution for a new design. There was a request that it should be possible to change the internal brushes in the spray pipe without cutting and welding. A concept generation was made to find a solution to easily change the brushes. When the results of the projects different parts were delivered, they were compared to each other to find the best overall solution to lower the costs of the spray pipes. The conclusion of this project is that the currently used spray pipe not is overpriced and therefore in short term the best option is to continue using the current supplier. There have though been some discussions regarding manufacturing of the newly designed spray pipe in cost competitive countries. It seems like the costs can be reduced if manufacturing the spray pipe or parts of the spray pipe in E.g. China.

The purpose of the project is to make the adjustment of the sealing station more userfriendly and less time consuming. The employer Norden Machinery is a manufacturer of tube filling machines. The project is a part of the course degree project for bachelor in mechanical engineer at Karlstad University. The goal with the project is to investigate different concepts off adjustment of the sealing station. Theoretical investigation will need to be complemented with 3D-model and CAD-model. The assignment was carried with help of different methods in product development and started with a project plan that is divided into smaller steps. Subsequently, product specification containing a requirement specification clarifies what should be accomplished at the assignment. A concept generation was made in terms of generating as many concepts as possible. In order to choose the right concept, concept evaluation is carried out containing the elimination matrix and relative decision matrix. Finally, the layout design takes place where closer calculations and CAD-modeling in Creo Elements/Direct Modeling are performed. The result is a construction based on two angled wedges that slide on a slope. By using angles, desired gear can be obtained. Between the wedges is a shaft threaded on each side. Bevel gear wheels were implemented in the construction to enable the 90 degree rotation needed for the linking shafts. With the help of bevel gear, the movement can be started by a hand crank. In this concept, the exchange can be changed in several different ways. A risk analysis on the construction completed the project. To get a better sense of the constructions movement, a 3D-model has been printed.

The work is comprised by concept development of cargo side flaps with focus on finding more independent cost-efficient solutions. The concept development process took place in cooperation with BAE Systems located in Örnsköldsvik, where they carry out design and production of vehicles as well as development of vehicle systems and marketing, primarily for military applications. The starting point for this work has been that BAE System's cargo side flaps for the all-terrain vehicle BvS10 are today manufactured by a subcontractor, who also holds the rights for a component vital for the construction. The purpose was, thus, to find a more supplier-independent alternative to the current concept, enabling manufacturing to take place at least at two of BAE System's “built to print” suppliers. In the initial part of the work, various possibilities for solutions have been studied and as an outcome, two concepts of cargo side flaps are presented through CAD models as a part of the works result. The result also includes an estimate of the product costs and an evaluation of the concepts with focus on independent design properties is presented. The outcome is that savings can be made, but the greatness of production will probably affect the costs. The limitations of the work were to only look at the flat bed flaps associated with the all-terrain vehicle, and not its adjacent parts. / Arbetet innefattar konceptutveckling av lastflakslämmar med fokus på att hitta mer leverantörsoberoende och kostnadseffektivare lösningar. Konceptutvecklingen har skett i samarbete med BAE Systems i Örnsköldsvik, som bedriver verksamhet inom allt från konstruktion och produktion av fordon, utveckling av fordonssystem och marknadsföring, främst inom militära applikationer. Utgångspunkten för arbetet var att BAE Systems lastflakslämmar till bandvagnen BvS10 idag tillverkas av en underleverantör som även innehar rättigheterna till en vital ingående komponent. Syftet med projektet var att finna ett mer leverantörsoberoende alternativ till dagens koncept där tillverkningen ska kunna ske hos minst två av BAE Systems ”built to print” leverantörer. I arbetets inledande del har olika designkoncept för lastflakslämmar studerats, varav två koncept har valdes ut och presenteras genom CAD modeller som en grund för arbetets resultat. Resultatet inkluderar även en kostnadsuppskattning samt en utvärdering av konceptens leverantörsoberoende konstruktionsegenskaper. Det visas att besparingar kan göras i en stor utsträckning, men att produktionsvolymens omfattning troligen påverkar kostnaderna. De avgränsningar som gjorts är att endast titta på de lastflakslämmar som sitter monterade på bandvagnen, och inte dess intilliggande delar.
