Förväntningar och övergångar från skolans värld ur ett mångfaldsperspektiv - en jämförande studie mellan elever på handelsprogrammet och på Ky-utbildningen inom Haninge Kommun

Lindberg, Susanne January 2007 (has links)

I have chosen in my study, to do a comparison between pupils´ expectations of the future, how they would meet adult life or working life after their education. These pupils are ending their programmes during this term. One program is Business and Administration Programme and the other programme is Qualified Vocational Education in Business, which is a post-secondary education and training programme. This investigation is done in Haninge municipality.

The purpose of this study has been to investigate if these students´ expectations differ between each other, compared with factors such as age, sex, ethnical origin and different study programmes. Further it has been interested to see how teachers and future employer meet these pupils´ expectations in education or in their planning working life.

There have been two other important questions to investigate in this study. One of the questions has been, how these people see pluralism in today´s society. The other question to investigate has been the importance of these programmes in this municipality. Finally it has been interesting to see if theory tells us something about expectations and changes of younger pupils´ choices in school, and if that differs from this investigation.

This study is based on an investigation through a questionnaire and it is also based on interview surveys. 25 pupils have filled in a questionnaire. In addition I have interviewed one teacher responsible for each programmes, one headteacher from the programme of Qualified Vocational Education in Business, one pupil from that programme and two future employer. The results of my study show that the expectations of the future do not differ between these pupils. They found it important to put up goals to strive for after ending education. Finally all of the people participating in this investigation think that pluralism is important to society.

Key words: Pupils, Expectations, Changes, School, Adult life, Working life, Pluralism,

Business and Administration Programme, Programme of Qualified Vocational Education in Business

Underwater observations of fish attractors in a final cut coal mine lake

Rold, Robert E. 03 June 2011 (has links)
Two types of fish attractors, brush attractors made of cedar trees and Berkley and Company's Fish-Hab modules, were placed in a final cut coal mine lake and evaluated for fish concentrating effectiveness. Dives were conducted biweekly and numbers and species of fish at attractors were recorded. Data were then evaluated using Analysis of Variance tests.A total of 623 fish were recorded on attractors during the eight dives made from July 21 to October 24, 1986. Brush attractors held 485 fish or 78% of the total. Module attractors concentrated 105 fish (17%) and 33 fish (5%) were observed in the control areas. Brush attractors concentrated nearly five times as many fish as the modules and 15 times as many fish as the control area. The modules concentrated over three times as many fish as the control area. Results indicated there was no significant difference (0.05) in numbers of fish attracted by brush and modules with an Analysis of Variance With Repeated Measures test but density of individual species was not considered. Furthur analysis of attractors by date and specie over the study period using a One-Way Analysis of Variance revealed that brush attractors concentrated significantly (0.05) more fish than modules in mid to late summer, but not in the early fall. Modules were much less effective at concentrating fish and were never significantly different than the control areas.Scuba diving worked well as a method of evaluation for the attractors. Water clarity was adequate for visual observations and fish did not display a fright response or leave when the diver approached. At no time was there difficulty in identifying or counting fish greater than 10 cm.Ball State UniversityMuncie, IN 47306

An Isotopic Examination of Cave, Spring and Epigean Trophic Structures in Mammoth Cave National Park

Compson, Zacchaeus Greg 01 January 2004 (has links)
AN ISOTOPIC EXAMINATION OF CAVE, SPRING AND EPIGEAN TROPHIC STRUCTURES IN MAMMOTH CAVE NATIONAL PARK Name: Zacchaeus Greg Compson Date: October 15, 2004 Pages: 56 Directed by: Philip Lienesch, Doug McElroy, Michael Stokes and Richard Bowker Department of Biology Western Kentucky University Abstract High-water events in the Green River result in flow-reversals which flush native and introduced fishes into Mammoth Cave, posing threats to indigenous cave fauna. However, little is known about the trophic interactions between cave and epigean aquatic systems or their connectivity via natural springs. The purpose of this study was to use stable isotopes of C and N to describe and compare the trophic structure of epigean, spring and cave aquatic systems within Mammoth Cave National Park. Fourteen sites were sampled from fall 2002 to fall 2003; four in the Green River (epigean), four in spring-heads, and three inside Mammoth Cave. Two a priori hypotheses were tested: fish and invertebrates living in spring heads should express delta 13C values intermediate to those of organisms in cave and epigean aquatic systems and overall trophic levels in cave and spring samples should be compressed, showing lower delta15N values compared to epigean sites. Though cave and spring systems were dominated by allochthonous leaf litter, characteristic of headwater streams, the epigean system was also largely dependent on detrital inputs. Primary differences in delta13C were seen at higher trophic levels, particularly in top consumers such as Lepomis species, where delta13C values decreased from epigean to spring to cave habitats. Though all three habitats supported a similar number of trophic levels (N: 5), the trophic structure was compressed in cave and spring compared to epigean habitats. This trend, however, was obfuscated by delta15N values of accidental species in caves, which tended to be enriched, even when compared to epigean signals. This was attributed to either trophic enrichment from yolk sacs or starvation and subsequent self-processing. Overall, spring trophic structure was found to be intermediate to cave and epigean trophic structures in terms of delta13C values of upper-level fish consumers, but spring trophic structure was more similar to the cave trophic structure in terms of delta15N values, excluding cave accidentals.

En studie om två olika utbildningskoncept : Cooperative Education & Kvalificerad Yrkesutbildning

Richthoff, Andreas January 2011 (has links)
Syfte: 1.
