Previous issue date: 2014-06-20 / The global digital culture, expanded by globalization and neo-capitalism, enhanced
by scientific and technological developments through the prism of political and social
project of the information society is transforming access to information management
in organizations to new forms of knowledge, unveiling the phenomenon of
aprendência. Therefore, the (edu)communication stands as intervention area based
on the principle of communicative ecosystems and the utopia of emancipation, a fact
that led this research to analyze the management of processes and resources (edu)
communication in educational spaces of the State Technical Schools of Pernambuco
(ETES), belonging to the Pernambuco model of technical education. The work was
guiding the following research problem: How does the management of processes
and resources (edu) communication in educational spaces of ETES? This is a field
research, characterized by qualitative approach and the exploratory and descriptive
type, subsidized by interpretative foundations of content analysis. It was regarded as
the universe twenty-seven Pernambuco technical schools and their subjects,
composed of school administrators, coordinators and teachers. As a sample, the
survey focused on the largest of the state technical schools in terms of courses and
enrollment, using the structured interview, applied to four subjects of the categories
already mentioned. With regard to data analysis, we sought to initially describe the
perception of the subjects on the processes edu (communication), then the analysis
is focused on ascertaining the circumstances in which technological mediation is
developed and, finally, found -if such perspectives of media production. As
achievements, the research showed that the mapping of processes and resources
(edu) communication tends to intensify the atmosphere of dialogue training,
contextualized with the educational demands of the twenty-first century, printing
school management possibilities and prospects for a "(re) politicization "pedagogical,
subsidized by foundations of educational communication. / A cultura digital planetária, hiperdimensionada pela globalização e pelo
neocapitalismo, superestruturada pela evolução científico-tecnológica sob o prisma
do projeto político-social da sociedade informacional, está transformando o acesso à
informação da gestão nas organizações às novas formas de saber, desvelando o
fenômeno da aprendência. Diante disso, a educomunicação ergue-se como área de
intervenção fundada no princípio dos ecossistemas comunicativos e na utopia da
emancipação, fato que propiciou esta pesquisa a analisar a gestão de processos e
recursos (edu)comunicacionais nos espaços educativos das Escolas Técnicas
Estaduais de Pernambuco (ETES), pertencentes ao modelo pernambucano do
ensino técnico. O trabalho teve como norteador o seguinte problema de pesquisa:
Como se dá a gestão dos processos e recursos (edu)comunicacionais nos espaços
educativos das ETES? Trata-se de uma pesquisa de campo, caracterizada pela
abordagem qualitativa e pela tipologia exploratório-descritiva, subsidiada por bases
interpretativas da análise de conteúdo. Foi considerado como universo as vinte e
sete escolas técnicas pernambucanas e seus respectivos sujeitos, composto por
gestores escolares, coordenadores pedagógicos e professores. Como amostra, a
pesquisa centrou-se na maior das escolas técnicas do Estado, em termos de cursos
e matrículas, utilizando da entrevista estruturada, aplicada a quatro sujeitos das
categorias já apontadas. No tocante à análise dos dados, buscou-se, inicialmente,
descrever a percepção dos sujeitos sobre os processos edu(comunicacionais),
averiguando as condições em que a mediação tecnológica é desenvolvida e, por fim,
verificando as perspectivas de produção midiática. Como resultados alcançados, a
pesquisa evidenciou que o mapeamento dos processos e recursos
(edu)comunicacionais tende a intensificar a atmosfera da formação dialógica,
contextualizada com as demandas educacionais do século XXI, imprimindo à gestão
escolar possibilidades e perspectivas para uma “(re)politização” pedagógica,
subsidiada pelos fundamentos da educomunicação.

Computer Ratio and Student Achievement in Reading and Math in a North Carolina School DistrictPreswood, Erica 01 December 2017 (has links) (PDF)
This longitudinal research project explored the relationship between a 1:1 computing initiative and student achievement on the North Carolina End of Grade Reading Comprehension and Math tests in the study school district. The purpose of this research study was to determine if the implementation of a 1:1 computing initiative impacted student performance on standardized tests. This study used secondary, longitudinal data to follow a sample of the district’s 2012-2013 3rd grade students through the 2015-2016 school year. The study used student grade level proficiency on the North Carolina End of Grade Reading Comprehension and Math tests for both the district and state levels. The data revealed that in the 2012-2013 school year the study school district was not significantly below the state mean in student grade level proficiency reading or math. At the end of the four-year study period, the district was not significantly below the state mean in student grade level proficiency in either reading or math, but the district did have significant growth in both subject areas.

Previous issue date: 2013-06-28 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES / This work is the result of a Technical Project and is scoped to analyze the life cycle of the Faculdade Independente do Nordeste - FAINOR with an aim to build strategies, to leverage academic policies focusing on designing Learners Organizations. As based on the methodological theory of life cycles as dynamic processes of transformation and or duration in which phases are presented as a continuum. Guided by documentary analysis. The choice of methodology sought to contribute to the production of a vision, capable of embracing life stages within the institution s logic and cyclical rhythm of time. The dilemma of the project upward mobility and sets the tone of the changes needed in the pursuit of management innovation. Actions to improve the quality of teaching was marked by tensions between financial sustainability and building-innovation s indicators. The life cycles of FAINOR were defined by dividing the time of the actions to comply with the Improvement Plan required by the Ministry of Education, in a complex context, in which still coexist traces of traditional management models and traces of innovations. The results obtained in the analysis of life cycles created the bases for the the creation of academic policies of teaching, research, innovation and extension, based on the needs that were identified. / O trabalho é resultado de um Projeto Técnico Aplicado e tem como escopo analisar o ciclo de vida da Faculdade Independente do Nordeste - FAINOR - com vistas à construção de estratégias para alavancar políticas acadêmicas, com foco na concepção de Organizações Aprendentes. Teve como diretriz metodológica a teoria dos ciclos de vida como processos dinâmicos de transformação e/ou duração, nos quais as suas fases são apresentadas como um contínuo. A estruturação dos ciclos foi guiada por uma análise documental. A escolha metodológica buscou contribuir para a produção de um olhar capaz de abarcar as fases da vida da instituição dentro da lógica cíclica e rítmica do tempo. O dilema do projeto de mobilidade ascendente dá o tom das mudanças necessárias em busca da inovação gerencial. Ações de melhoria da qualidade do ensino foram marcadas por tensões entre sustentabilidade financeira e construção de indicadores de inovação. Os ciclos de vida da FAINOR foram definidos pela demarcação do tempo das ações para cumprimento do Plano de Melhoria exigido pelo Ministério de Educação, em um contexto complexo onde ainda coexistem os traços de modelos de gestão tradicionais e traços de inovações. Os resultados obtidos na análise dos ciclos de vida embasaram a criação de políticas acadêmicas de ensino, pesquisa, inovação e extensão a partir das necessidades detectadas.

High school eLearning : an investigation into the desirable and workable features of an Internet eLearning resource to sustain high school learning communitiesCronje, Johannes Christoffel 29 July 2008 (has links)
eLearning is rapidly spreading into the high school learning environment. This research attempts to find desirable and workable features of an eLearning resource that would sustain high school learning communities. The basis of the instrumental case study was the Cambridge International Examination course offered by an eLearning institution over a period of two and a half years. Data was gathered by means of various questionnaires, focus groups, interviews and quantitative analysis of computer log files of activity. Content analysis was performed by comparing research data with information (such as various eLearning models) obtained from the literature review. Similarities and differences were found in the way eLearning is used by high school learners and teachers versus university students and lecturers. Desirable and workable features were identified and the reasons for these explored. Questionnaires and interviews were used to gather data pertaining to the attitudes’ of Saudi Arabian learners to online communication in EFL. Digital literacy : an investigation into perceived competencies of open distance learning students in the Eastern Cape Province in South AfricaDaya, Raseela 01 1900 (has links)
The aim of this study was to investigate and describe the perceived digital literacy competencies of Unisa Open Distance Learning students in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. The association between the socio-demographic variables of the students and their perceived digital literacy competencies was statistically tested. The study examined whether there is a statistically significant relationship between the independent variables: attitudes towards digital technology for academic purposes, usage of the Learner Management System and attendance at regional digital literacy workshops, and the dependent variable, perceived digital literacy competencies. A quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional survey design was adopted using a census sampling method.
The study concluded that the majority of students have high self-perceived digital literacy competencies. Statistically significant positive relationships were found between attitude towards digital technology for educational purposes, usage of the Learner Management System and attendance at regional digital literacy workshops and perceived digital literacy competencies. / Educational Management and Leadership / M.
