Aplikace pro monitorování a správu sítě pro ISP / Application for Network Monitoring and Management for ISP

Kmoníček, Tomáš January 2009 (has links)
The objective of this master‘s thesis is to develop an ISP application for service monitoring and management. A fully functioning monitoring software has been developed, which allows the administrator to check the round-trip time and the packet loss in the entire network. Another function of the application is obtaining information from network devices by the SNMP protocol (e.g. packet and byte count etc.). The software uses the information to create hour, day, week or year graphs. All graphs and statistics are visualised at the administration webpages. For the purpose of client administration, a clients database has been developed. This part of the application contains functions of payment administration, IP addresses, contacts etc. Both parts of the web pages have been developed using PHP and AJAX, which makes the application similar to standard desktop applications. The testing application has been developed using Python and the entire application has been designed for modules, which can be later used for the development of other functions.

Nilsson Björk, Marcus January 2022 (has links)
Abstract Every year the Swedish police handle 25,000 reports on missing people. A majority of those gone missing come back home, without the need of outside assistance. For some, help is critical, and many don’t even know that they are missing. These people are persons with dementia and a large percentage of them go missing in Sweden´s largest city, Stockholm. Searching for a person with dementia in a sprawling city creates its own set of obstacles and requires a certain skill from the police in order to execute assistance.   The result of the study is based on interviews with experienced police officers from the  Stockholm police force and their experience of searching for missing persons with dementia in an urban environment. The results of this study indicate that the Managing Search Operations, or “EFP-metoden” in Swedish, is a search method that works when the police search for a person with dementia in an urban environment. Why the method works can`t be explained and the reason is that there is lack of research and verified statistics in the research area of persons gone missing.  This indicates that there is a need of more research studies about people gone missing for the Swedish “EFP-metoden” to develop.    This study is done as a quality interview study and the study has been done to develop new information to the study of missing people who have dementia and to give suggestions to future research data in this field of study.

Mýty české hudební alternativy osmdesátých let / Myths of the czech music alternative in the 1980s

Jonssonová, Pavla January 2013 (has links)
Dissertation "Myths of the Czech Music Alternative in the 1980s" presents an anthropological view of the phenomenon of a parallel culture in a limiting situation. On the basis of biographical narratives, additional interviews and data gained from other types of sources, "myths" are constructed for seven major figures of the Czech alternative scene. This is an insider's ethnomusicological interpretation, based on Mircea Eliade's and Bronislaw Malinowski's concepts of myth as recurrent and exemplary models of behavior. The described personalities, Jazz Section (Prometheus), Miroslav Wanek ("hero's journey") Karel Babuljak ("search for paradise lost"), Pavel Zajíček (Odysseus), Mikoláš Chadima ("Rebel"), Oldřich Janota (Hermes), and Marka Míková (Psyche), represent some of the main trends in creative processes of the Czech music alternative scene with myth being used as a metaphor. The metaphor is understood here in the terms of Timothy Rice, i.e. as an organization principle of our thinking, as well as an illuminating image.

BRISTFÄLLIGT UTNYTTJADE STADSRUM : -En fallstudie av Friaredalen / INADEQUATE UTILIZED URBAN SPACE : -A case study of Friaredalen

Eriksson, Filip, Fredriksson, Tim January 2022 (has links)
Introduction: This master thesis is written within the area building technology at Jönköpings Tekniska Högskola. It is made in collaboration with Arkitekthuset Jönköping AB. The study is supposed to be useful as a basis for the urban planning of growing cities to avoid lost spaces. The thesis will also include proposals for how lost spaces in Friaredalen could be developed. Method: The data collection has mainly been done through observations but also through interviews and a literature study. The people interviewed were professionally active within areas that are related to urban planning, lighting, and urban design in the municipality of Jönköping. Both quantitative and qualitative data has been studied in the thesis. Results: Only the interview answers that most clearly answer the research questions are presented under the title results. The full-length interviews are presented as appendices. The results of the observations are also presented under the same title. They were performed during days of sun, low wind velocity and without precipitation. Analysis: The analysis of the empirical indicates that parts of the park are used to a great extent. It also indicates that parts of the park are used to a small extent and have potential for development. The part that seems to be used to the least is the green areas in the north end of the park. The parts of the park that are frequently used can also be analyzed and eventually developed. Discussion: The case study shows that there are parts of Friaredalen that are lost spaces. One goal of this work was to bring forward suggestions for improvement, which has been made for the spaces that was shown to be lost. The observations made according to Gehl’s proven approach were successful in that they provided data showing that parts of the park have a lack of visitors. This data helps answer the report’s questions. The interviews also provided data that was useful for answering the questions.

Implementation of a Capacity Market in Sweden

Lindberg, Erik, Björns, Jakob January 2021 (has links)
In the coming decades there will be an increaseof electricity consumption as the industry and transportationsectors are electrified. Electrification and the rapid expansionof renewables will have great impact on the electricity market. In order to ensure that there is enough electricity, differentcapacity mechanisms are possible solutions. In this paper, theneed of a capacity market in Sweden is studied. Simulations ofcapacity markets with convex downwards sloping demand curvesdemonstrated possible outcomes of such a market. A comparisonbetween a FCM and Sweden’s strategic reserve is also carriedout. The results of this project show that even though peakingpower plants are not profitable, there is no immediate need fora forward capacity market. / Kandidatexjobb i elektroteknik 2021, KTH, Stockholm

Issues Related to Determining Optimal Management of Patients in Receipt of Disability Benefits

Ebrahim, Shanil 10 1900 (has links)
<p>Approximately 4.2 million Canadian adults suffer from a physical or psychological disability, of whom up to 30% suffer from depression. Those receiving disability benefits versus those not receiving benefits may be at greater risk of unsatisfactory outcomes because their circumstances or psychological status may interfere with successful implementation of standard therapies. This thesis addresses the effectiveness of therapies for depression in patients receiving disability benefits, using an individual patient data meta-analysis of all published randomized controlled trials evaluating Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and a secondary analysis of an administrative database from a large, private, Canadian insurer. Additionally, this thesis addresses an important methodological issue: assessing the impact of missing participant data for continuous outcomes in systematic reviews. Missing participant data may bias results of individual trials or systematic reviews of individual trials if participants with missing data have different expected outcomes from those with available data. No methods have been proposed for investigating the extent to which missing participant data for continuous outcomes might bias the results of systematic reviews, and this dissertation addresses that gap.</p> / Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

Working with graphic design students to promote 'Land of Lost Content' at Leeds Met.

Carver, Kirsty, Parkin, C. January 2009 (has links)
Yes / As Leeds Metropolitan is a university of festivals and partnerships, the library was given the opportunity this year to host a festival to promote the library and all its services to the university. The library festival was a week of events and activities to promote the library and its space in new ways. It was a good way to remind staff and students of the value of libraries, not only as places to learn but also as places to enhance our leisure and working lives ... we chose to promote the database `Land of Lost Content'. This was because graphic design and art students are based at our campus and we also thought this database would attract a wide range of students who might otherwise think that electronic databases contain little of interest for them. Our promotion has been so successful in many ways that we would like to share our experience with other librarians.

Guilbert, Alice 12 1900 (has links)
This project aims to identify the formal and narrative manifestations of the Camusian “sense of absurdity” in Sono Shion’s Suicide Club (2001) and The Taste of Tea (2004) directed by Ishii Katsuhito. In order to determine the extent to which the Japanese economic crisis of the 1990s contributed to the absurd treatment in these works, the project analyzes the inconsistent nature of the violence represented in Sono’s film and the treatment of solitude in Ishii’s. Both films address the concept of generational rupture. In doing so, the presence of the absurd within these films illustrates the worrying reality experienced by young people faced with the absence of job offers and forced societal isolation, known as the Japanese "lost generation".
