O poder negociado: os crimes contra a pessoa e sua honra no reinado de D. João II / The power negotiated: the crimes against the person and his honor during the reign of John II

Nascimento, Denise da Silva Menezes do 04 December 2009 (has links)
In this work we propose the analysis on the concession of pardon for the crimes against the person and his honor throughout the reign of John II [1481 1495]. We consider that though this concession was a kings attribute, an attempt of the royal power to regulate the other powers that had judicial competence, this gracious act implied, fundamentally, in a negotiation between the monarch and his subjects. Such negotiation involved obligation and reciprocity that placed the king and the three states of this society in a complex relation of subordination and dependence. Therefore we will attempt to show that the exercise of justice and mercy contributed to strengthen the image of John II as a supporter of justice and the common good as well as the maintainer of order in the social body. Hence punishment and forgiveness, justice and mercy will be worked as complementary aspects in the process of legitimacy and fortification of the royal power, expressed in a very peculiar way in the motto adopted by the Perfect Prince: polla ley polla grey.

It uses biblical commentary from the Old and New Testaments to verify the strength of origin. In a second moment it resorts to the philosophical reflection of Emmanuel Levinas, a contemporary Jewish thinker who has elaborated the biblical category of mercy in anthropological and ethical terms. Finally, the dissertation draws on the pontifical teaching of John XXIII, John Paul II and pope Francis, summarized in three perspectives: a merciful Church, a merciful God, mercy is the very name of God. CHURCH BASED INTERVENTIONS WITH HUMAN TRAFFICKING IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA: A DENOMINATION STUDY

DeWit, Michael Dale 01 June 2017 (has links)
The focus for this research project was to explore the development of human trafficking mercy ministries within South Coast Presbytery. South Coast Presbytery consists of 21 churches belonging to the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA), a Christian denomination with member churches throughout the United States. The study was conducted following a constructivist paradigm with a PCA church belonging to South Coast Presbytery to determine the role of the church and the presbytery in addressing human trafficking through the development of mercy ministries. Interviews were conducted with 11 church members. Five major themes emerged from analysis of the interviews: 1) Effects of the existence of human trafficking on participants; 2) The role of the church/presbytery in addressing human trafficking; 3) Service provision to victims of human trafficking; 4) Partnerships with outside agencies; and 5) Ministry development in South Coast Presbytery. An action plan was developed based on the following subthemes: raising awareness, teaming up, the need for specialists, and the need for oversight. The action plan includes the following: the development of a presentation to raise awareness, plans to visit each church of South Coast Presbytery to promote a shared vision, and building a database of available church resources to link with needs identified by service providers in the community.

Dufault, Olivier 04 1900 (has links) (PDF)

Gailestingumo dorybės samprata Jono Pauliaus II mokyme ir jos aktualumas X ir Y mokyklų 14 – 15 metų amžiaus mokiniams / Concept of the Virtue of Mercy in the teaching of John Paul II and it‘s relevance to the 14 - 15 years old pupils of the X and Y schools

Petraitienė, Natalija 20 January 2014 (has links)
2. Apibūdinti Jono Pauliaus II ir šv. Faustinos Kovalskos mokymų apie gailestingumo dorybę sąsajas. 3. Atskleisti Dievo gailestingumo Bažnyčios misijoje būtinumą. 4. Įvertinti 14 -15 metų amžiaus mokinių žinias apie gailestingumo dorybę. 5. Nustatyti šiandieninių mokinių požiūrį į gailestingumo dorybės aktualumą. / Relevance of the Theme: Nowadays when the quality of life is expressed in economic efficiency and inordinate consumerism, when physical beauty and pleasure becomes a background, young people often feel insecure and anxious in such a world. Seeking for truth, insatiable need of goodness and happiness, hunger for freedom, longing for beauty, voice of conscience, which all are in the depth of a human being, pulsate in this anxiety and insecurity. Therefore Christian teaching about mercy is emerging with more importance and relevance.Relevance of the Theme: Nowadays when the quality of life is expressed in economic efficiency and inordinate consumerism, when physical beauty and pleasure becomes a background, young people often feel insecure and anxious in such a world. Karitatyvinės veiklos Vilkaviškio vyskupijoje raida / The development of the charitable work in the diocese of Vilkaviskis

Burnys, Žydrūnas 31 May 2013 (has links)
[toliau žr. visą tekstą] / Aim of work: to investigate charitable activities in Vilkaviskis diocese. Object of work: organization “Caritas“ in Vilkaviskis diocese. The goals: to give a concept of Merciful Love, overview interwar social activities in Vilkaviskis diocese and identify consequences of occupation, to introduce with organization “Caritas” activities in Vilkaviskis diocese after regain of independence. The methods: descriptive, exploratory, synthetic. Many people in Lithuania do have faulty opinion about charitable activities. “Caritas” is imagined as a place where you can get some clothing for free or a place where you can give away unused clothing or other things. “Caritas” is a love, charity, mercy. It is showing effort to help others, to care for other wellbeing, talking about virtue. Charitable activities should be born out of love for God, and love for your relatives comes from it. The very person of Christ and his life example is the entire testimony of charity. “Caritas” tries to implement that in a world full of worries. This work provides an overview of charitable work in Vilkaviskis diocese given changes in life of that historical period. Some of activities in diocese are related to all activities of the Catholic Church. A lot of trouble for charitable activities where caused by lack of charitable sources at a time of interwar and at the time when Lithuania was occupied. The work was based on archival documents, press, internet sources, memories by activists, interviews of... [to full text]

Dievo gailestingumo kulto sklaida Lietuvoje / The Divine mercy cult spread in Lithuania

Zinkevičius, Žilvinas 06 June 2014 (has links)
Vilnius city is called the city of Mercy, because in this city people pray for patronage not only at the Gate of “Aušros“ - of merciful intercession of the Mother of God, but also pray for mercy of Jesus In the city of Vilnius, in the year of 1946 servant of God Archbishop Mečislovas Reinys responded to the appeal of the Sisters’ Faustina’s Spiritual father Sopočka and for the first time at the Easter Sunday allowed to celebrate the Feast of Divine Mercy in the St. Johns church in Vilnius. It is necessary to get to know ones again both - the new cult itself and Faustinas’ message which gives an allowance to contribute to the new Evangelization, the importance of which was stressed by the emeritus Pope Benedict XVI and the current Pope Francis. The holy mystery of God's merciful love was the centre of the whole pontificate of John Paul II. In the concept of “mercy" he envisaged the whole mystery of Salvation that he imparted anew to our era. This study consists of four chapters. The first part provides an overview of the manifestation of God's mercy in the Scriptures In the Old Testament God's mercy manifested through the creation of man and concern for him, even after the man have sinned. In the New Testament, God's mercy is revealed perfectly in the Incarnated Son of God Jesus Christ: in his works, words, and especially in the death and resurrection. In the second part of the...
