Pošustová, Veronika January 2020 (has links)
The purpose of this Master thesis is to verify migration of mesenchymal stem cells on the principle known as chemotaxis. First part of this study is focused on cell migration in order to explain the whole migration process. Next part describes various chemotaxis methods and selected studies dealing with clinical applications of mesenchymal stem cells in different medical and biomedical fields. The following step describes confocal microscopy, which is used for acquiring images of the cells. The experimental part is focused on cultivation of mesenchymal stem cells in a laboratory, which is necessary for cell vitality. Furthermore, there are designed two main experiments. Firstly there is a 2D experiment with adherent cells for chemotaxis using -Slide Chemotaxis. Secondly Transwell migration test is designed and executed. Finally, the acquired images from confocal microscope are used for image processing, which was done in Matlab R2020a programming environment. The result of this processing is evaluation of cell confluence and migration. In the end, experimental part of this study was optimized according to recommended studies. The results are summarized in the conclusion with proposal for improvements of those methods.

Pracovní migrace Mongghulského rodu Ha do Aksu v Xinjiangu / Labour migration of the Hawan Ha Clan Mongghul to Aksu in Xinjiang

Ha, Mingzong January 2012 (has links)
Labour Migration of the Hawan Ha Clan Mongghul to Aksu in Xinjiang Abstract: The current work focuses on the ongoing labour migration of the Mongghul Ha Clan from Hawan, Gansu Province to Aksu in southern Xinjiang. It presents the motivation for the migration, and examines the social, economic and cultural changes the migration has catalyzed. Impacts on local Uyghur engendered by in-migrants are discussed. The work also features an overview and a generalization of the contemporary labour migration in China and Xinjiang in particular. Interviews with migrants are transcribed in Mongghul and translated to English and serve as an important source for the work.

Chromosom Y v hybridní zóně myší / Y chromosome in the mouse hybrid zone

Rubík, Pavel January 2011 (has links)
The contact zone between subspecies of house mouse Mus musculus musculus and Mus musculus domesticus is one of the most intensively studied hybrid zones. It is also due to extensive introgression of the Y chromosome of M. m. musculus subspecies to the genetic background of M. m. domesticus. One theory of the origin of the introgression explains it by intragenomic conflict between the sexes. With a set of variable microsatellite markers on the Y chromosome, I have examined the validity of this theory by simple approaches revealing the history of the introgression area. It turned out that overly big variability of our markers makes the revelation of this theory impossible. Our markers have been found suitable for use in the analysis of population structure of house mouse. Thanks to them, we can identify migrants between localities and estimate the level of closeness of the population structure in relation to migrants from the neighborhood. Populations in our analysis proved to be relatively closed and resistant to the influx of migrants. Despite the conclusions of previous research where the dispersion of males ran up to one kilometer, I have discovered a relatively large number of migrations to a distance of thirty kilometers. Keywords Mus musculus musculus, Mus musculus domesticus, Y chromosome,...

Sňatkové migrace v městském prostředí: Náchod 1550-1750 / Marital migration in urban environment: Náchod 1550-1750

Matyska, Jan January 2018 (has links)
Presented diploma thesis deals with issues of marital migration in early modern town milieu. By quantitative analysis of written records of marriage contracts and parish registers from Náchod domain (Eastern Bohemia), marriages of Nachod burghers with persons from other localities are tracked. Initially the town itself and the domain of the same name, constituting its hinterland, is characterized by their population and administrative and economic conditions. Then the marital migration is examined by sex and marital status of immigrants, distance and legal status of the place of their origin, or proportion of migration across the boundary of the domain. Apart from the pursuite to describe the main features of the migration phenomenon, the attention is focused on its consequences, which are the issues of integration of immigrant into the community of the town. The final part of the thesis deals with some qualitative aspects of marital migration and its reflection in contemporary ego-documents. Keywords: marital migration; Náchod; town; country; integration; burghers; parish registers; marital contracts; early modern period

Přenosové efekty v rámci ročního cyklu rákosníků velkých: celoareálová studie se zaměřením na rozdíly mezi pohlavími a populacemi / A range-wide assessment of carry-over effects within the full annual cycle of the Great Reed Warbler with a focus on sex and population differences

Brlík, Vojtěch January 2019 (has links)
Movements of long-distance migratory birds are frequently well timed and routed in order to maximise individual fitness. However, individual timing of events or environmental conditions experienced have a potential to carry over into subsequent annual cycle stages and may have delayed fitness consequences. Therefore, knowledge of these seasonal interactions is crucial to identify key periods and regions that limit survival beyond the breeding period and thus to fully understand population dynamics of migratory species. Despite current evidence for seasonal interactions, there is no detailed knowledge of the complex of relationships within the full annual cycle, differences between sexes and populations or impact of environmental conditions during moult in one species. To unveil this system of seasonal interactions within the annual cycle, we directly tracked 103 great reed warblers (Acrocephalus arundinaceus) using light-level geolocators from five breeding sites across the breeding range to obtain information on timing and positions of annual cycle events. We then combined this information with various remotely sensed habitat condition metrics and stable isotopic composition of feathers from the non-breeding grounds to identify and quantify carry-over effects within the full annual cycle. Our...
