Imagens da infância na obra de Clarice Lispector / Images of childhood in Clarice Lispector\'s workTeixeira, Mona Lisa Bezerra 30 November 2010 (has links)
This thesis examines to what extent Clarice Lispectors work draws its inspiration from the world of childhood. This world of sensations becomes the root and source of the aesthetic representation in her short stories, chronicles and novels, irrespective of the theme or focus which has been chosen. This research tries to uncover the childs point of view as a key to understanding her work, as opposed to the idea of a naïve view of childhood. It proposes that the theme of childhood is a constant spirit in the content and form of her work, as a way of showing resistance to the false postures and fake characteristics of the status quo. In fact, her literature represents a pure view of situations of angst, abandonment and helplessness which are themes explored elsewhere in modern narratives. By searching for childhood as a source of literary aesthetics, this thesis aims at proving that on the one hand, the form and expression of Lispectors literature, in its essential plenitude of expression, show the first sensations of a childs sensitivity when discovering the world and, on the other hand, the form and expression of her work can also call attention to the unfortunate subjection of mankind to the administered world man has invented to himself.

À procura de objetos gritantes: um estudo da narrativa de Clarice Lispector / Looking for other forms of art: a study about Clarice Lispector\' s writingsSiqueira, Joelma Santana 11 June 2008 (has links)
This work is focused on readings of Clarice Lispector\'s writings produced in the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s: the novel Perto do coração selvagem, short stories in Laços de família and texts and short stories in A legião estrangeira. Aiming at investigating the inter relations between literature and other forms of art, the writer\'s work corpus was confronted with texts on modern art\'s sources and traditions, Brazilian modern art critique and modern space studies. Based on the concepts of \"polysensorial space\" proposed by Pierre Francastel, and \"space at work\", proposed by Alberto Tassinari, structural homologies were studied between Ms. Lispector\' s narrative space and that of modern painting. The two concepts are related to two complementary functions which we believe exist in the narratives analyzed: figuration and exposition. The former introduces characters, actions, events, etc...in the narrative; the latter presents signs of acting. The painter Wassily Kandinsky wrote that the artist seeks to find in music, the most immaterial among the arts, a form of self-expression, without imitation being an end in itself. Since this is an aspect observed in the narrator of Perto do coração selvagem, we have attempted to discuss in which ways music, often alluded to in the narrative, is related to the novel\'s structure.

Previous issue date: 2012-05-04 / It is possible to notice that the modern narrative increasingly seeks to invest its characters with a broad and complex nature, away from the well-defined beings of the traditional narrative. Through this work, we aim to make a study of Marcela, a character of the novel A ostra e o vento, by Moacir Costa Lopes, taking into account the way the complexity of the fictitious being is constituted through an analysis of structural,
semantic, and thematic elements. We first will bring up a brief theoretical discussion about the character in a novel, and we also will carefully analyze the diagetic universe, presenting the complex path of the character further. Subsequently, we will focus on the structure of the narrative which creates a complex picture of the character, using the technique of crossed points of view as well as the technique of temporal fragmentation.
Finally, we will investigate conflicting social relations that portray Marcela s disturbed inner side, as well as the metaphoric symbolic language, which furnishes a number of different representation of this character, impeding the creation of a well-structured coherent character. Studies of scholars such as Antonio Candido, Anatol Rosenfeld, Vitor Manuel de Aguiar e Silva, Fernando Segolin, Gerard Genette, Michel Z?raffa,

The potential use of a personal portfolio for identity development of an adolescentQuinn, Magdalena Katarzyna 15 June 2011 (has links)
This study focuses on how a Personal Portfolio can facilitate the narration of an adolescent’s life story and the outcome on self understanding. An instrumental case study that was exploritative and descriptive in nature was used to gain insight into the potential value of using a Personal Portfolio to reflect an adolescent’s quest for identity development. Data were collected by means of Personal Portfolio activities, open-ended interviews, tape-recordings of participant interviews, reflective reports written by the research participant as well as observations and field notes recorded in a diary by the researcher. The thematic analysis of the data was done within a constructivist-interpretivist framework. Five core categories: Identity Crisis/Confusion, Identity Exploration,Identifying Developmental Assets, Unresolved Past Issues, and the Experience of Compiling a Personal Portfolio emerged. These core categories were further linked to sub-categories and related themes. This study found that compiling a Personal Portfolio supported the research participant’s quest for identity. In particular, it facilitated a process of self exploration regarding career choice and sexual identity and resulted in increased self-knowledge, an awareness of personal assets and an overall improved sense of self-worth and self-confidence. This study also provided the research participant with a platform to work from and the means to solve some personal problems. The study further more concluded that a Personal Portfolio is a cost effective method that is suitable for use in a diverse South African context which could be utilised by counsellors and educators with their task to assist adolescents with their identity development. / Dissertation (MEd)--University of Pretoria, 2010. / Educational Psychology / unrestricted
