[pt] O trabalho investiga o papel que o design de livros impressos adquiriu na cultura disciplinar da arquitetura desde a última década do século XX, principalmente em monografias produzidas por expoentes com fama e atuação internacional. Compreendendo que o design de livros tem sido crescentemente usado como instrumento de constituição de uma identidade ou atitude pública de arquitetos., o objetivo do estudo é analisar se e como certos atributos do discurso profissional e mesmo da obra arquitetônica dos escritórios (que são tanto o autor quanto o assunto) se fazem presentes na configuração formal dada aos livros e, especialmente, na linguagem gráfica das apresentações de projeto contidas neles. Para isso, o trabalho contextualiza a inserção cultural e potencialidade expressiva do livro impresso em face à recente realidade de mídias eletrônicas e, especificamente, ao desenvolvimento histórico das relações entre a disciplina da arquitetura e suas mídias de difusão, apresentando também uma reflexão metodológica sobre os fatores, elementos e conceitos a serem considerados para uma análise do design de livros de arquitetura. A tese apresenta em seguida três estudos de caso, dos quais o principal é o influente S,M,L,XL, monografia de Rem Koolhaas e seu escritório OMA feita em parceria com o designer Bruce Mau (1995). Os outros estudos, mais sucintos, tratam de livros inspirados nesse primeiro caso: FARMAX: Excursions in Density, do escritório MVRDV (1998), e Yes is More: an archicomic on architectural evolution, de Bjarke Ingels Group (2009). A partir de paralelos e divergências entre esses três casos, a tese procura ressaltar aspectos relevantes das dinâmicas profissionais e culturais internas à disciplina da arquitetura na contemporaneidade. / [en] The dissertation investigates the role of book design in architecture s disciplinary culture since the last decade of the twentieth century, especially in monographs produced by firms internationally famed. Considering that book design has been increasingly used by famous architects as a tool for the construction and display of public identity and attitude, the goal of this work is to analyze whether and how some attributes of professional discourse and even of designs from the architecture offices (who are both authors and the subjects), are incorporated in the formal configuration given to books and, especially, in the graphic language of project presentations in them. The dissertation examines the cultural role and expressive potential of the printed book medium in the context of recent times electronic media and, specifically, in the historical development of relations between the discipline of architecture and its media of diffusion. It presents a methodological reflection on factors, elements and concepts to consider for a design analysis of architecture books. Then, it makes three case studies, the main case being the influential S,M,L,XL (1995), monograph by architect Rem Koolhaas and his Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA) made in partnership with graphic designer Bruce Mau. The two other shorter analysis address books inspired by the first case: FARMAX: Excursions in Density, from MVRDV (1998), and Yes is More: an archicomic on architectural evolution (2009), from Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG). Through comparing the similarities and divergences between those three books, the dissertation seeks to highlight relevant aspects of professional and cultural dynamics internal to the architecture discipline in contemporary times.

In this scenery, we can perceive meaninful changes in her economical, profissional and familiar trajectories. Using, employing this cartography as a certain context, this work has consisted os analysing the multiple activities developed by woman (in her domestic and profissional fields of action) and the possible resonanges upon her healthiness. Seven women from the Metropolitan Region of Recife, having in their daily work routine, two or more day s labor. Their ages varied from 30 to 49 years old . Relating to profession, one of them was a taxical driver; two of them were teachers from state of pernambuco s official schools, locates in risking areas; two of them from women military police, and one from armed-weaponed safety. We had perfomed, accomplished semidirect interviews in the participants better convenience place. Later on, we have elected, chosen, as the inverviwed persons speeches organization, description and analysis proceeding, content thematic analysis. We have identified meaning three units of senses, multiple activities overload; identification with profession and resonanges upon healthiness and confronting strategies-fieds a great satisfaction presence and fruition in their tasks and in the commitments assumed by these women. However, notwith-standing, we have found out some negative impacts. Price for high fulfillment and high changes, exigences on demands have reached their clímax, their highest point in suffering several ways and emotional overload wchich we can emphasize: some depressive syntoms and anxiety syntoms presence, as well as high pressure, sleeplesness, height excess, stress and headaches. The supporting nets search -the familiar and social ones - has taken shape has (configurated itself) as the most important factor of protection to healthiness risk and maintenance in this studied group. These partnerships have assumed, have developed a fundamental locus - place in these women confronting strategies texture. Nesse cenário, percebe-se mudanças significativas, nas suas trajetórias econômica, profissional e familiar. Tomando essa cartografia como contexto, este trabalho consistiu analisar, as múltiplas atividades desenvolvidas pela mulher (nos âmbitos domésticos e profissionais) e as possíveis ressonâncias sobre a saúde. Participaram desse estudo, sete mulheres residentes na Região Metropolitana do Recife, e com rotina diária, de duas ou mais, jornadas de trabalho. Suas idades, variaram entre 30 e 49 anos. No que se refere à profissão, uma era taxista; duas professoras do estado, locadas em área de risco; duas policiais militares; e uma segurança armada. Realizamos entrevistas semidirigidas, no local de melhor conveniência das participantes. Posteriormente, elegeu-se como procedimento de organização, descrição e análise das falas das entrevistadas, a análise temática de conteúdo. Identificaram-se três unidades de sentido, a saber: sobrecarga das múltiplas atividades; identificação com a profissão; e repercussões sobre a saúde e estratégias de enfrentamento. Neste contexto, identificamos a presença de uma grande satisfação e realização nas tarefas e nos compromissos assumidos por essas mulheres, contudo, alguns impactos negativos foram notados. O preço pelo alto desempenho e, elevadas cobranças, culminaram em diversas formas de sofrimento e sobrecarrega emocional. Entre os quais, destacamos: presença de alguns sintomas depressivos e de ansiedade, assim como, pressão alta, insônia, excesso de peso, estresse e dores de cabeça. A busca por redes de apoio familiar e social, se configurou como o mais importante fator de proteção ao risco e manutenção da saúde no grupo estudado. Essas parcerias assumiram lugar fundamental, na tessitura das estratégias de enfrentamento para o grupo estudado. O estudo da interação, entre as múltiplas atividades desenvolvidas pela mulher e, as ressonâncias sobre a saúde permitiram fornecer informações e recursos para o desenvolvimento de intervenções clínicas, como também, de subsídios para o fortalecimento de políticas públicas, que visem o atendimento e proteção das necessidades da mulher no exercício de suas variadas funções

[pt] A presente tese é uma pesquisa sobre o Curso de Comando e Estado-Maior do Exército Brasileiro e tem como objetivo o estudo da formação dos oficiais de carreira bélica do Quadro de Estado-Maior da Ativa e os impactos das políticas de Defesa nos conteúdos e monografias de conclusão do curso, após a criação do Ministério da Defesa. Para isso, foram investigadas as legislações de ensino, os Planos de Disciplinas, os títulos e as palavras-chave das monografias, nos dando uma parte da dimensão de como essa classe militar é formada e uma premissa de como pensam os temas relacionados à Defesa. Constatamos que as Políticas e as Estratégias de Defesa nacionais, bem como as novas conjunturas no campo da segurança e defesa internacional, após a Guerra Fria, estabeleceram mudanças na formação do Estado-Maior do Exército no período de 1999 a 2013. Identificamos as influências das legislações, diretrizes e ações estabelecidas pelo Ministério da Defesa, demonstrando que o Exército não é totalmente refratário e se ajusta, mesmo que lentamente e a seu modo, às transformações exigidas por outros órgãos e pelos eventos externos à instituição. Porém, cabe destacar, que as mudanças afetaram, mas continuam não interferindo na autonomia militar. As mudanças observadas foram protagonizadas pelos próprios militares, que estabelecem os critérios de mudanças de acordo com seus interesses e perspectivas, reafirmando a autonomia institucional. Este trabalho contribui para as discussões sobre o ensino militar brasileiro e sobre quais Forças Armadas desejamos, tendo como contexto o perfil estratégico planejado pelo país e os princípios democráticos. / [en] The purpose of this research is to study the formation of Army career officers in the Course of Command and Staff College of the Brazilian Army, by verifying the impacts of defense policies in course content, and graduating papers, after the creation of the Ministry of Defense. For this, we investigated the related legislation, the curriculum, the titles of thesis and key-words that gave us a partial idea of how military are formed, and how they think the issues related to defense. We found that policies and national defense strategies, along with new situations in the field of international security, and defense after the Cold War, established changes in the formation of career officers during the 1999-2013 period. Thus, we identified the influences of law, guidelines and actions established by the Ministry of Defense, demonstrating that the Army is not entirely refractory and adapts to transformations required by other agencies and by events external to the institution, though in a low way and at its own path. However, it is worth noting that the changes affect, but still do not interfere with military autonomy. The observed modifications were created by the military themselves, who set the changing criteria according to Army interests and perspectives reaffirming institutional autonomy. This work contributes to the discussions on the Brazilian military education, and on the desired Armed Forces within the context of the strategic profile planned by the country according to democratic principles.
