The thesis deals with motivation as a tool that influences the performance. The first part discusses the issue of motivation in theoretical way and incudes concepts as human resources management, performance, efficiency, motivation, incentive program or frustration and stress. The theoretical part is based on the study of literature sources that deal with certain issues. Gained knowledge are subsequently transferred into practice and use in examining the motivation of specific group of employees in Hays Recruitment Agency, Czech Republic. Motivational process of the company is solved in the second part of the thesis. This part also determines how employees perceive the current incentive program. One of the steps is also discover if the company satisfies the 3 main areas of needs of their employees. (existence, relatedness, growth).

This diploma thesis addresses the question of work motivation, while it focuses on employee performance as a key factor in performance management. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part was processed as a literature review of scientific resources. This part explains the basic concepts like the theory of motivation or historic evolution of management styles, human resource management, motivation, efficiency and incentive programs. Furthermore we can find explanation of such terms as job performance and some specific methods of evaluation of job performances in this theoretical part. The second part, which is the practical part of the thesis, focuses on the selected company Mall.cz where a brief description of company's history is provided, as well as its business plan and structure of the company. We can also find the basic overview of those motivational factors that are used as a support for the performance management. The analyzed survey focuses on the perception of the company and loyalty, working environment and interpersonal relationships, personal development and support of the employees, benefits and monetization and motivation to change. The outputs and outcomes are described in forms of various charts for better understanding. The detailed plan for improvement was conducted based on the findings of the described survey.

Study consists of two parts, theoretical and the research one. The theoretical part is mainly devoted to the achievement motivation and its development. We consider for the theoretical starting point Heckhausen and Rheinberg{\crq}s Extended Model Achievement Motivation which comprises of level aspiration, attribution and reference norm. Influence of the reference norms of teachers (N = 20) on the variables of achievement motivation of their pupils (N = 405). It concerns of the following variables {--} Hope of Success (HS), Passive Fear of Failure (PFF) and Active Fear of Failure (AFF). It was revealed that students of their teachers with preference of individual reference norm will be different from the students of teachers with predominance of social reference norm in the above mentioned motivational characteristics (HS, PFF). No significant diferences were revealed in the variable Active Fear of Failure. It is valid in the sum score and for the school and sport activities. Our results are in line of the international research in this field . Results may be sample specific and should not be generalized.

The Thesis was aimed at evaluation of the level of motivation and stimulation of work performance in a company upon a worked out analysis and proposal of suitable measures for improvement in this sphere. I chose Stora Enso Timber Planá s. r. o. The first part of the Thesis summarises theoretical knowledge of motivation and stimulation of work performance. It also characterizes the company, its history, size and number of staff. I performed an analysis of motivation and stimulation based on a questionnaire survey, evaluation and gave proposals for improvement. I would propose the following recommendation to the company: a simpler form of lodging suggestions and complaints by means of a dedicated letterbox,improvement of staff information, motivation component of salary, use of moral stimulation and extra work benefits.

The diploma thesis first describes basic motivation theories and other, motivation related, subjects. Further, in reference to several extensive investigations via questionnaires taken in two different companies with more than one year gap, evaluates the motivation and satisfaction of employees. It also examines how the motivation and satisfaction changed after implementing several organizational changes; more efficient work time management, more transparent organizational structure, improved communication between managers and employees, etc. The thesis also compares the results of the questionnaires taken in those two companies and tries to find common motivators despite the fact the each company finds itself in a very different field and has diverse employee structure. All the questionnaires were based on Stoewer's test.

Diploma thesis focuses on issues of motivation for doing business of graduates of University of Economics in Prague. The aim of this diploma thesis is to clarify the context of the start of their business and to make sense of their motivation to start and to do business. In the first theoretical part there are defined basic definitions of business and the approaches to entrepreneurship issues. The second part deals with "business environment" in the Czech republic, this is the first key factor which encourages to start a business. The second key factor is personality of businessmen itself. Subsequently, diploma thesis generally explains problems of motivation, as well as in relation to business. The research was accomplished by the method of the "depth interview" with the absolvents of University of Economics in Prague who run a business. The main conclusions are introduced in the practical part of this thesis.

The thesis is consists of theoretical and empirical part. The theoretical part is analysis with of relevant specialist literature answers how to define the concept of motivation. If it is clearly defined. Than it answers, which self-adjustment motivation factors motivate or demotivate pupils in study of geography as a whole and then which ay self-reflection can be useful for motivation in teaching geography. Results of questionnaire inquiry reveal about preferences and pupils motivation in geography lessons, which should lead to reflection and self-regulation of geography teachers that can give positive motivation to pupils learning. The thesis also created a questionnaire revealing preferences, factors, activities and topics for teaching geography, usable for everyday school practice, used to diagnose of pupils and to self-regulation teachers of geography.

The first part is focused on theoretical and methodical area; it describes the importance of personal management and human resource management, influence employees in the procedure and effective communication. The second section represents the current situation of personal management, motivation and communication tools in the company. In the third part founds own analysis which was carried out by interview, it presents results of research. The fourth part shows possible solutions for problems of stimulation and communication with the staff.
