The thesis deals with consumer behavior in the United States and the Czech Republic. Economic and demographic situation in these countries, along with classification of consumers and cultural, sociologic and psychographic factors are described in the theoretical part. The practical part is based on a survey which includes topics such as buying habits, selection criteria, attitude to brands and advertising, financial aspects, ecology and CSR. The final part summarizes obtained information to compare buying behavior of the American and Czech consumers.

This diploma thesis focuses on the behavior of consumers in the market of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements. The aim of this paper is to draw conclusions and recommendations to different entities operating on the market by identifying factors influencing the behavior of consumers in the market of over-the-counter medicines and food supplements in the Czech Republic. An indicative analysis enabled to screen the situation on given market and to research the increasing tendencies of the drug consumption, their prices and also to identify the trends in behavior of consumers. Analysis of the time series and regression analysis are used to process secondary data demonstrating the dependence of the number of packages of distributed over-the-counter pharmaceuticals on pharmacies and drug stores and their prices. The questionnaire survey describes trends in consumer behavior in a given market. From the cluster analysis results are defined 4 segments of consumers operating on a given market. Finally, the influence of age, education and gender of consumers on the cost of over-the-counter medications and dietary supplements is examined. The results of the primary and secondary analysis enabled to come to conclusions and recommendations to entities on the given market.

The diploma thesis deals with the identification of the important factors of the shopping environment that influence the consumers during their purchase. In the theoretical part, literature in relation with the retail, merchandising and shop-ping environment is discussed. To obtain the data, an industry analysis in the Czech Republic and a mystery shopping in the selected second hand shops were executed. A quantitative survey was supplemented by a qualitative survey that was processed in a form of controlled interviews. The results from the acquired data were used as recommendations for the second hand shops owners and a concrete plan including changes in a calculation has been developed for Bellitex s.r.o.

This diploma thesis is focused on strategic behaviour of e-shops from the customer's point of view. The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the strategic position of companies that focus on online sales of electronics, based on their strategic behaviour from the customer's point of view. Terms of e-commerce, strategy, strategic management and online shopping behaviour are explained in the theoretical part of the thesis which is based on literature research. The practical part evaluates the factors that influence the customer when shopping online. Furthermore, selected indicators of financial analysis were evaluated. Based on the obtained results, the strategic position of selected e-shops was determined. There are recommendations for e-shops in the conclusion.

Organic food labelling and its influence on Generation Y´s purchase behavior on German market

The Diploma Thesis examines the perception, influence and role of organic food labelling on the German market in connection with the consumer behavior of Generation Y as organic food products have become of high interest over the last decade. This thesis also examines the main factors having an impact during decision-making process while purchasing organic food. In the theoretical part the relevant topics are introduced and discussed, such an organic food, labelling system, consumer behavior or Generation Y. Practical part deals with gathering primary data through online questionnaires (n = 185) and in-depth interviews (n = 14) and their analyzing and evaluation in statistical software. Both information and data gathered from secondary and primary research help form recommendations for economic subjects producing and selling organic food products and placing special labels on their packages.

Eye tracking and controlled in-depth interview were the main research methods which were used to identify factors and motives which influence buying decisions. The attention was paid to preferences and the aim was also to find out the purchase places of cosmetics products including the reasons of natural cosmetics preferences. The aim of the diploma thesis was achieved by the analysis of the factors. For instance, suggestions with appropriate recommendations for marketing communication subjects who do on-line business on the market with natural cosmetics.

This diploma thesis deals with consumer behaviour towards private label food brands. The main objective of this diploma thesis is to identify factors that influence con-sumer purchasing decisions of private label food products. This thesis also describes consumer attitudes towards private label food brands and consumer preferences. In the diploma thesis there are used the techniques of marketing research, namely questionnaire sur-vey (N=409) and cluster analysis. The output of the questionnaire survey highlighted customer‘s most influencing factors, such as experience, percieved quality and price. Another output of this thesis are characteristics of market segments and the recom-mendation for the subject operating on the private-label market.

The aim of this diploma thesis is to explore Generation Y consumers' behavior in the process of buying apparel online and to identify the factors that affect it in order to propose recommendations for subjects operating in the apparel e-commerce market. To this end, a questionnaire survey (n = 254) was used, as well as eye-tracking research (n = 11) supplemented by in-depth interviews (n = 11), which helped to further explain consumer behavior. Based on the results, recommendations are suggested and the results of the research are compared with relevant expert studies in this field.

Data was collected via online questionnaire survey (n = 305) and in-depth interviews (n = 30). Descriptive statistics and calculation of dependencies were employed. The final rec-ommendations were subsequently implemented in a case study.
