Bilhetes reais e/ou virtuais = uma análise construtivista da comunicação entre escola e família / Real and/or virtual schoolNotes : a constructivist analysis of communication between school and family

Dedeschi, Sandra Cristina de Carvalho 18 August 2018 (has links)
Orientador:Telma Pilleggi Vinha / Dissertação (mestrado) - Universidade Estadual de Campinas, Faculdade de Educação / Made available in DSpace on 2018-08-18T20:10:44Z (GMT). / Abstract: This is a joint research that used quantitative and qualitative methods, with the general aim: to analyze in the light of constructivist theory, the contents and implications of the school notes that the school sends to the family. As for specific goals, the intention was to characterize the structure of those sent to parents to inform the occurrences at school; see the similarities and differences between the content and structure present in the 'tickets' sent to parents of students in the 2nd, 5th and 8th year of elementary school, to compare mechanisms of written communication in public and private school. The sample consisted of six groups, three public schools and three private. Data were collected from two main strategies: collection of documents sent by schools to communicate with family members and conducting interviews, based on the clinical method. In interviews, we selected about 25% of students in each class, half of those being considered a "disciplined" and one of the "undisciplined." We interviewed other individuals involved in the communication process: parents or guardians, teachers and pedagogical staff. After collection, we performed a content analysis, which was organized into three parts. At first, they were categorized content present on school notes and other forms of notification, in the latter, we analyzed the structure of messages written by teachers of elementary school, having their data processed quantitatively and qualitatively, and the third part, the information available in the interviews were analyzed qualitatively. The results showed that the content sent to members of the family, dealing mostly in "conventional rules", followed by addressing "conflict", almost always sent by the private school. Rarely inform about the problems related to "learning." In structure, it was found out that the school notes sent by the private institution had more descriptive language, respectful, objective and clear than those of the public. Regarding the implications that can generate on family relationships, it was observed that, when they receive a notification, they understand that half of those being considered a "disciplined" and one of the "undisciplined." In structure, it was found out that the school notes sent by the private institution had more descriptive language, respectful, objective and clear than those of the public. Regarding the implications that can generate on family relationships, it was observed that, when they receive a notification, they understand that teachers expect some action. Parents, in most cases, use of expiatory punishments such as removal of something the child likes, physical aggression or verbal, conversations or sermons. It was identified that some children and adolescents change their behavior for fear of receiving new school notes or other punishments at home. It is believed that the school can be considered co-responsible for these implications, as it recognizes what can happen and even then sends school notes indiscriminately. Based on the theory of Piaget and his followers for the analysis of the data, we infer that such a strategy is used as a means of coercion, not validating the discourse that serve to maintain the partnership with parents. Moreover, this procedure usually excludes the subject of the search for solutions to their conflicts, and withdraws the opportunity for reflection, exchange of perspectives and recognizing the feelings, which are factors essential to reach their moral autonomy. / Mestrado / Psicologia Educacional / Mestre em Educação

Development of database support for production of doubled haploids

Engerberg, Malin January 2002 (has links)
In this project relational and Lotus Notes database technology are evaluated with regard to their suitability in providing computer-based support in plant breeding in general and specifically in the production of doubled haploids. The two developed databases are compared based on a set of requirements produced together with the DH-group which is the main users of the databases. The results indicate that both Lotus Notes and the relational databases are able to fulfil all needs documented in this project, although both systems have their limitations. An often expressed opinion is that it is difficult to combine biology and databases. The experience gained in this project however suggests that it does not need to be the case in instances where data is not as complicated as often discussed. Observations made during this project indicate that data warehousing with integrated data mining and OLAP tools are surprisingly similar to how the DH-group at Svalöf Weibull works and could be a suitable solution for the production of doubled haploids.

Johansson, Sara January 1999 (has links)

Nordlinder, Johan January 2010 (has links)

Stridh, Frans January 2005 (has links)

Filologické marginálie v Janově evangeliu Blahoslavových překladů Nového zákona / Philological Marginal Notes in John's Gospel of Blahoslav's Translations of New Testament

Dušek, Jan January 2015 (has links)
The diploma thesis Philological Marginal Notes in John's Gospel of Blahoslav's Translations of New Testament deals with the characteristics of the philological marginal notes in John's Gospel of Blahoslav's New Testament from the year 1564 and 1568. The life of Jan Blahoslav, the information about Blahoslav's New Testament and the history of the research about his translation of New Testament are summarised in the thesis as well as the tradition of Bible commentary and marginal notes in their European and Czech contexts. In the practical part the thesis presents the number of philological marginal notes explored in both editions, the number of variants in marginal notes and their word class distribution. It tries to find possible sources for the text in marginal notes. It uses Czech printed translations of the Bible (Klaudyán's New Testament, Lukáš's New Testament, Optát's New Testament, Melantrich's Bible of 1556-1557) and Latin translations by Erasmus and Beza and their annotations and Vulgate. As a supplement to the thesis there is also a list of excerpted philological marginal notes from both editions of Blahoslav's New Testament and corresponding places in Bible translations examined.

International monetary flows of non-declared origin

Madsen, Frank G. January 2009 (has links)
Through an analysis of the presence and nature of international monetary flows of non-declared origin and their relation to deviant knowledge, the thesis determines that both terrorism and organised crime are nurtured by a constant trickle from minor sources rather than by large financial transfers; and that anti-money laundering provisions are misapplied, taken too far, too expensive, and incapable of demonstrating their effectiveness. In lieu of more traditional policy recommendations, the thesis develops a complexity-theory based intelligence function, capillary intelligence, to improve the present information-gathering systems and generate consistent and context-relevant intelligence for the consideration of policy-makers. The intelligence function takes into account also the concept of self-organised criticality. The thesis fully adheres to the principle that efficiently applied intelligence-led approaches for detection of organised crime are demonstrably superior to a 'follow the money' approach. An extended concept of deviant knowledge is developed and five methodological techniques employed: Complexity theory, network theory, self-organised criticality, scaling theory, and intelligence treatment. The thesis is multidisciplinary and calls on contributions from International Law, Economics, Criminal Justice Studies, and Governance and Ethics. Its approach is illustrative and fits Baudrillard's 1981 methodological principles known as bricolage. Using five methodologies and six major case studies, the thesis reaches four conclusions. First, the rapid expansion in the currency component of the US money supply (M1) has no domestic explanation and can best be explained by an increase in overseas illegal traffics of various sorts. Second, terrorism and major organised crime are, for a large part, nurtured by a constant trickle of funds originating from minor crime, such as, respectively, smuggling of tobacco product and retail fencing, and sale of counterfeit luxury goods. Third, calculation of the cost of the application of anti-money laundering shows these to be cost-inefficient, apart from being highly intrusive. The thesis' calculations as well as prior literature makes it certain that such provisions, although inefficient, are enforced in a forceful exemplification of the deviant knowledge concept. Fourth, the thesis demonstrates the importance of organised crime in resource depletion and emphasises the nefarious consequences of such criminal behaviour, in particular as regards deforestation, since organised crime can apply the necessary pressure on the local population - in conjunction with extensive corruption of police or military personnel - and provide the managerial expertise to have the trees felled, transported internationally by ship and sold in another country often with false documentation as to the origins of the forest product. In a final case study, the tragic concept of resource curse is considered, in casu the island of Bougainville, PNG.

Mýtus Julius Fučík. Spory o život a dílo v dějinném kontextu. / Myth Julius Fučík. Disputes about his life and work in historical context.

Suchá, Hana January 2014 (has links)
This master thesis is a result of historical analyses of past interpretation of Julius Fučík. Attention is focused on how the cult of Julius Fučík was built, how was his image changing and how this contributed to maintain communist ideology. For better understanding of the whole issue, this thesis describes Fučík's work, especially his most famous artwork Notes from the Gallows, which is important for understanding manipulations with Julius Fučík's legacy. It also examines how changing political situation transformed his role from hero to traitor and collaborator. As a counterbalance, complex expert studies dealing with Fučík's case are introduced. The end of the thesis is focused on the 70th anniversary of Fučík's death in the year 2013 in a perspective of contemporary media. This documents today's social debate which no longer deals with the question of guilt but is rather targeted on Fučík's literary output.

An application of Gascoigne’s Certayne notes of instruction to a bouquet of his Posies

Forbes, Alexander Malcolm January 1976 (has links)
The critical literature on George Gascoigne suffers from a serious omission: there has been no attempt to apply Gascoigne's Certayne Notes of Instruction concerning the making of verse or ryme in English, written at the request of Master Edouardo Donati¹ to any extended portion of his poetry, in a thorough way, toward an interpretative end. That a poet's poetics would not be so applied to his poetry is certainly ironic. The irony is intensified in this instance, because in all probability Gascoigne wrote the Notes after most of the poetry was composed.² In consequence, there is a considerable likelihood that the Notes might have been in part formulated through a process of inductive reasoning from patterns found in the poetry, not simply through logical deduction. Therefore, they are naturally applicable to the body of poetry which they follow (The Posies of George Gascoigne Esquire: Corrected, perfected, and augmented by the Author).³ My study is directed toward rectifying this omission in the critical literature on Gascoigne. In the first chapter, I examine the published critiques of Gascoigne which bear upon the relation between Gascoigne's poetic theory and his poetic practice. As I hope to show in that chapter that there has indeed been a failure to examine thoroughly any body of Gascoigne's work in terms of his own stated poetic principles, I should note here that, accordingly, I shall not incorporate critical references in the concluding chapter devoted to my reading of the poems (for there are no. critical references to the poems considered herein that are the products of any method of interpretation that is at all similar to my own). Occasional similarities in the literature on Gascoigne, either of observation or of interpretation with respect to particular poems, are at most representative of parallel methodologies or conclusions. They may sometimes be similar to, but they lie in distinctly different currents from, the new interpretative channel that I hope to establish. In Chapter II, I anatomize the poetic principles enunciated by Gascoigne in his Notes. I also attempt in this chapter to place Gascoigne's theories in the historical mainstream of ideas similar to his own. In the last chapter, which justifies the first two, I apply Gascoigne's principles to a coherent body of his poetry. Since I cannot treat all of Gascoigne's poems within the limits of a thesis, I restrict my selection to the "Flowers" division of the Posies. It makes sense to deal with those which are found in the first set of his poems (as established in the edition that he "Corrected, perfected, and augmented"). As suggested by the titles of these sets, "Flowers" exemplify more fully the application of his beliefs than would poems included as "Herbes," and exemplify that application better than would those classified as "Weedes." The principles that guide my selectivity within this framework will be explained at the beginning of the chapter in which the poems are analyzed. This chapter will conclude my thesis. As interpretative conclusions cannot be generalized, as the critical generalizations that can be made will be made in it, as the test of interpretative application of the Notes is the conclusion of all that precedes it, and as the reader must be the final judge of the method and interpretations contained in it, I shall not follow this chapter with another which, given the nature of this thesis, would be either unwarranted or redundant. I conclude this study, therefore, with this chapter. / Arts, Faculty of / English, Department of / Graduate

EXTRACTING SYMPTOMS FROM NARRATIVE TEXTUSING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

Priyanka Rakesh Gandhi (9713879) 07 January 2021 (has links)
<div><div><div><p>Electronic health records collect an enormous amount of data about patients. However, the information about the patient’s illness is stored in progress notes that are in an un- structured format. It is difficult for humans to annotate symptoms listed in the free text. Recently, researchers have explored the advancements of deep learning can be applied to pro- cess biomedical data. The information in the text can be extracted with the help of natural language processing. The research presented in this thesis aims at automating the process of symptom extraction. The proposed methods use pre-trained word embeddings such as BioWord2Vec, BERT, and BioBERT to generate vectors of the words based on semantics and syntactic structure of sentences. BioWord2Vec embeddings are fed into a BiLSTM neural network with a CRF layer to capture the dependencies between the co-related terms in the sentence. The pre-trained BERT and BioBERT embeddings are fed into the BERT model with a CRF layer to analyze the output tags of neighboring tokens. The research shows that with the help of the CRF layer in neural network models, longer phrases of symptoms can be extracted from the text. The proposed models are compared with the UMLS Metamap tool that uses various sources to categorize the terms in the text to different semantic types and Stanford CoreNLP, a dependency parser, that analyses syntactic relations in the sentence to extract information. The performance of the models is analyzed by using strict, relaxed, and n-gram evaluation schemes. The results show BioBERT with a CRF layer can extract the majority of the human-labeled symptoms. Furthermore, the model is used to extract symptoms from COVID-19 tweets. The model was able to extract symptoms listed by CDC as well as new symptoms.</p></div></div></div>
