O Brasil nas palavras deles: a cobertura jornalística de correspondentes estrangeiros em tempos de megaeventos esportivos no país / Brazil according to their words: the journalistic coverage of foreign correspondents during sportive mega-events in the country.

Vieira, Maria Clara Nicolau 02 October 2017 (has links)
O estudo extrapolou o âmbito esportivo e analisou as publicações independentemente do assunto tratado, com o objetivo de compreender o que foi escrito sobre o Brasil e quais mensagens foram propagadas internacionalmente a respeito do país / Brazil hosted two mega-events with global repercussion in 2014 and 2016: the FIFA World Cup and the Olympic Games. Their greatness, along with a series of relevant political and economic events, made the country frequently present on the world news. Such journalistic coverage was made, in part, by foreign correspondents established in Brazilian territory. This dissertation aimed to study the current situation of the occupation and to do a content analysis of the journalistic material produced by foreign correspondents living in Brazil during those two years. We studied 214 texts published on the websites of The Washington Post, The Guardian and Clarín. The study extrapolated the sporting scope and analyzed the publications independently of their subject, in order to understand what was written about Brazil and which messages were propagated internationally about the country.

Cidadão-fonte ou cidadão-repórter? O engajamento do público no jornalismo colaborativo dos grandes portais brasileiros. / Citizen-source or citizen-reporter? Audience\'s engajement in major Brazilian Internet portal\'s collaborative journalism.

Madureira, Francisco Bennati 22 September 2010 (has links)
Collaborative journalism emerged in Brazil during 2000\'s first decade. It implies considering every citizen a potential reporter, capable of participate in the news process. In order to evaluate if the practice was adopted in major Brazilian Internet portal\'s - top Web traffic drivers - with the same depth and extent as adopted by international initiatives like OhMyNews, Digg or Slashdot, a series of content analysis were processed in their collaborative content, alongside with interviews with top online journalists and publishers. The collected data revealed the Brazilian Internet user still concentrates in register reality as a mere blatant, considered one of the earlier steps of online collaboration. Fact checking, source research and editing material are still goals to achieve.

Bloggen inom journalistiken : En kvalitativ intervjustudie av bloggens produktionsprocess, funktion och framtid inom journalistiken

Qvarngård, Jens, Skoghäll, David January 2008 (has links)
Under vilka villkor produceras bloggarna?

The Chinese Approach To Web Journalism: A Comparative Analysis

Xin, Jing January 2010 (has links)
This thesis explores the distinctive forms of journalism that have emerged in mainstream news websites in mainland China. Two case studies, the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and the H1N1 influenza pandemic in 2009, are employed to identify features in Chinese and Western news online. Specifically, a comparison is made between the in-depth news sections of popular mainstream news websites in China and those in the United States, the United Kingdom, and New Zealand. The study finds that the Chinese version of mainstream web news genre differs significantly from the Western version. This thesis argues that journalists’ practice is strongly context dependent. Distinctive economic, organizational, social and cultural factors contribute to shaping Chinese web journalism in a way that contradicts the notion of a homogeneous worldwide journalism or of a single set of norms for journalism. The study challenges the dominance of the political explanatory framework that considers political factors as the most important approach to study Chinese web-based media. In the face of a sparse literature and sporadic studies concerning the development of the internet as a novel platform in China for news production and transmission, this thesis aims to bring more academic interest to an overlooked research area and to contribute to a broader understanding of the actual diversity of global communication research.

Hitge, Lize-Mari 03 1900 (has links)
Assignment (MPhil)--University of Stellenbosch, 2007. / ENGLISH ABSTRACT: Globally weblogs have burgeoned since their development in the late nineties. The phenomenon has demystified the technical side of online publishing, allowing individuals without specialised knowledge to create and update their own websites. Weblogs are already used in a number of professional sectors such as journalism, marketing, politics and now also education. This study is approached from a uses and gratifications framework and provides a broad overview of the emergence, structure, applications, pitfalls and future of blogs in education. Weblogs are also investigated in relation to other social software tools and learning theories. Mediakonvergensie as internasionale fenomeen – drie Afrikaanse dagblaaie en werknemerspersepsie

De Beer, Linda 03 1900 (has links)
Thesis (MPhil (Journalism))--University of Stellenbosch, 2006. / The arrival of the Internet and digital technology the past decade has revolutionised the media industry worldwide. Newspapers cannot exist separately from other media forms any longer. Newspaper companies have increasingly started to experiment with the incorporation of the electronic media, such as the Internet, in their newsrooms. The term media convergence originated in an attempt to give meaning to the phenomenon whereby different media forms come together or exist in synergy with each other. The purpose of this study is to investigate the phenomenon of media convergence from a newspaper perspective. The focus is firstly on developments on the international media front, whereafter the emphasis is on South Africa. A Research/field study is aimed at determining the knowledge and perceptions of media convergence of the editorial teams of Media24’s three Afrikaans sister newspapers – Beeld, Die Burger and Volksblad. Different definitions of media convergence were considered in an effort to formulate an appropriate definition for the purpose of this study. In terms of this definition media convergence entails the coming together or synergy between different media entities within the same company. A technologically advanced environment with digital multimedia content management systems is conducive to successful convergence. The characteristics of the digital and multimedia newsroom are discussed in a separate chapter. A literature study was undertaken to give an overview of international media convergence practices and existing research on the topic. The focus is not only on how media convergence manifests itself in different parts of the world, but also on the attitudes toward and perceptions of the phenomenon by journalists. The South African media landscape and examples of convergence is discussed, with specific reference to Media24, owner of Beeld, Die Burger and Volksblad. Non-empirical research by means of a survey amongst 60 respondents was conducted to test the knowledge and perceptions of the editorial teams of these three newspapers on media convergence. Multimedia newsrooms operated with the assistance of digital technology is a common phenomenon in many countries. Cooperation across media also exist in the majority of newsrooms in South Africa, but the phenomenon is not as conceptualised locally as in the rest of the world. Differences in the structures of media companies, as well as divergent legislation, have a significant effect on how media convergence manifests itself in a specific country or newsroom.

The research aims to determine and analyze how these two important online media in Latin America have used new technologies like HTML5 to modernize the information that they present. Therefore, the comparative analysis will stick to the multimedia infographics, which has undergone profound technological changes, changing the format and the content of the news. Besides the theoretical conceptualization and review of literature on infographics, newsgame, transmedia storytelling, online journalism, interactivity and programming languages used to produce multimedia infographics, the paper will bring foward a comparative analysis of the section Infografia, presented by Folha.com, and Especiales Multimedia, by Clarín.com. The analysis, quantitative and qualitative, will check the narrative and informational resources, tools and Internet programming language technologies that are used by the two media, based on the analysis model proposed by Alberto Cairo in the book Infografia 2.0 – visualización interactiva de información en prensa. The research has shown that although the Clarín.com has used Flash technology in most multimedia infographics analyzed, the results of comparative analysis show that the Argentine online newspaper infographics allowed higher levels of interactivity than multimedia infographics in Folha.com, mostly developed in HTML5.
