The Teradata database system is specially designed for data warehousing environment. This thesis explores the use of Teradata in this environment and describes its characteristics and potential areas for optimization. The theoretical part is tended to be a user study material and it shows the main principles Teradata system operation and describes factors significantly affecting system performance. Following sections are based on previously acquired information which is used for analysis and optimization in several areas of described environment.

The aim of this dissertation is to analyse the costs and their management in the company BAEST, a.s. BAEST, a.s. is a manufacturing engineering firm with a wide production range. In this work, the costs are investigated at first from the global point of view - it is analysed their structure and development here. Further part of the work gives attention to calculations. There are calculation methods characterized here, which are used by the company, and a part of this section is setting of the planned and the final calculation and analysis of variances. Conclusion is aimed to possible production cost saving.

This thesis deals with the optimization of stocks of medicines in the pharmacy. The goal is to find a connection when dealing with inventory optimization drugs. First is the optimization of inventories as such. It is also discussed the situation in the pharmaceutical market in different ATC groups in the Czech Republic. Selected methods is processed inventory optimization of specific drugs in the existing pharmacy equipment.

Goal of the thesis is to explore, evaluate and, if it is possible, suggest new tools or improve the ones, being used at the moment, for operating analysis, which is used as one of the bases for traffic optimalization of public transport. One of the elements of the thesis is exploring standards of quality and finding out, if they standards are being met on the ground of collected data. At first i will describe and evaluate tools of operating analysis. After identifying possible shortcomings, i will create new outcomes or new tools, or just slightly correct the existing ones, if it is needed. Everything is created on a real data collected from traffic surveys from years 2008 and 2012 in specific cities. After that, i focus on standards of quality and if the standards are being met. For that I'm using graphs, written text and pictures for better understanding. Again everything is based on real data either from chosen transport companies or traffic surveys.

Diploma Thesis deals with costing and preparation of bids in the transport department of Logistics Company. Analyzed company annually participates in a large numbers of tenders for logistics provider. The aim of diploma thesis is to find critical points and propose a possible method of calculations, which has been missing. Practical section is split into two parts. In first part is using modified calculation formula calculated cost per kilometer. Work continues with two case studies, where are described the most problematic issues and suggested solutions. In the end of work is proposed new methodology of preparing commercial studies which can company use in future.

The aim of the thesis is to map purchasing activities in specific company then analyze the processes and identify critical points. The last step is to create a list of ideas and recommendations for improvement. The theoretical part is focused on processes and process management, their definition, history, benefits and other aspects. First part also contains a chapter about process mapping using diagrams SIPOC, Swimlanes and Flowchart, process improvement methods such as Kaizen and DMAIC and methods useful for identifying problems, causes and suggestions for improvement. The practical part is focused on introduction of company processes with main focus on the process of purchasing. It is divided into four consecutive processes. Processes are individually mapped and analyzed with identification of points for improvement. Final part of work presents list of recommendations with a selection of main advice for implementation and steps which are implemented by the company based on the presented thesis.

Main target of this Master's Thesis is preparation and evaluation of proposal of selected intercompany processes' improvements within the company of ThysenKrupp Výtahy, s.r.o.. First, theoretical, part is focused on basic terms definition, e.g. what is procces, what is process management, what are the particular elements and definition of main groups of processes. Practical part of the thesis concerns of introduction of chosen company, basic processes and procedures definition; and of description and analysis of their origin and structure. Then, the weak parts of the chain are identified, and the proposal and plan of optimalization measures is presented. Final part evaluates possible impacts of proposed measures in the relation to financial impact of selected project.

The aim of this thesis is to analyze the processes of demand planning and management. This work describes the main assumptions of the successful completion of this process. It also deals with the main methods and techniques of demand planning and management, including the importance of software tools. Thesis topic was chosen due to the extraordinary importance of demand planning in terms of satisfying the constantly growing and changing subject to customer requirements. The methodological part is devoted to a comprehensive description of the main assumptions affecting this process and methods of demand planning. The analytical part focuses on the processes of demand planning in an environment of the specific pharmaceutical company. Critically evaluates these processes and offers their solutions.

The aim of this master thesis is the improvment of selected processes in the organization where a company can save considerable costs and speed up processes with customers, proposes metrics for measuring the performance of individual processes and overall improvement of the organization. First part of the tesis deals with the theoretical aspects and the transformation from functional to process control, modeling based on different methodologies and standards and measuring performance of individual processes. Second part presents the organization and its situation and position on a market and pointed the problematic aspects of processes and suggests how to develop the processes to be more efficient in all directions. Last but not least are the metrics used to monitor and evaluate the goals of the processes and their successful implementation. After the incorporation analyzed processes in the organization should be the company able to move significantly in the overall success of the operation on the market.

As in the stock of trading business is allocated a large part of the capital resources, it is necessary to determine the manner of their control. For this purpose a number of models were developed. Before application to the specific case, these models must be properly adjusted to ensure conformity with reality. The aim of this thesis is to optimize the inventory management of electronic commerce. The stochastic model with loss from unfulfilled orders was chosen as default. First, the necessary adjustments were made to the model and defined input parameters. After filling model with real data, the optimum values of the monitored variables were obtained. The last part deals with the influence of changes in input parameters on the optimal value of variables. Use of the model is not limited to this particular case. Without major modifications, the model is also applicable to other similar problems.
