OPTIPAC: A User-Oriented Computer System for Optimization in Engineering Design

McDonald, John Franklin 05 1900 (has links)

A description is given of the multi-technique nonlinear optimization system called OPTIPAC.

The overall organization of the program is outlined and the significant features of each of the method subroutines are discussed. Considerable emphasis has been placed on the documentation for the system, and the two manuals which have been written are described briefly. The results of three test problems are included to demonstrate the value of having a variety of techniques in the package.

A preliminary evaluation of OPTIPAC's performance is given, with relevant suggestions for further development.
/ Thesis / Master of Engineering (MEngr)

Uticaj oblika i vrste aerodinamičke opreme privrednih motornih vozila na otpor vazduha / The impact of shape and type of aerodynamics equpment on the commercil vehicle's drag force reduction

Galamboš Stjepan 23 October 2020 (has links)

Usavršavanje aerodinamike privrednim motornih vozila putem optimizacije aerodinamičkih dodataka u svrhu postizanja boljih aerodinamičkih performansi u vidu umanjenja sile otpora vazduha.
/
The improvement of commercial motor vehicle's aerodynamics through optimization process of aerodynamic equpments in order to achieve better aerodynamic performance in the form of drag force reduction. The expansion of the air flow around the model is enhanced by optimization accessories, which is all reflected in the reduced of fuel consumption of the commercial motor vehicle. In addition to virtual simulations of computational fluid dynamics, the paper presents the validation of results by experimental measurement in the wind tunnel.

Optimalizace webu pro mobilní zařízení a analýza jejího vlivu / Web optimization for mobile devices and analysis of it's effects

Pospíšil, Jan January 2011 (has links)
The thesis is about the phenomena and benefits of design and development for mobile devices. Theoretical part of the thesis is focused on describing the mobile market's and devices' specifics and their future development and reasoning their values. In-depth description of the methods and problems of mobile applications' design with focus on web applications is included as well as the overview of technologies for mobile web development. Capability comparison of these technologies with the possibilities of native applications are described too. The practical part of the thesis aims to verify these theories by applying them to a real project (news portal). After an implementation part the thesis provides an analysis of the benefits this implementation provided to the project. The main goals of this thesis are providing complex overview of the methods and technologies for mobile web development and the analysis, which verifies the benefits and outcomes of these theories in real practice. Results of this analysis are as well the main contribution of this theses as it provides valuable information about the benefits of described methods on real project which is used by many users. Other contribution is the part describing the implementation which unveils practical information and real problems of described theoretical methods on practical examples.

Optimalizace konstrukce zvedače dutinky spřádacího stroje / Optimalization construction tube lifter of spinner machine

Jeník, Jan January 2012 (has links)
The first part of this thesis describes the current technologies of mechanical spin-ning. This is a ring, rotor and air-jet spinning. The product of spinning machines is yarn, the basic material for production textile. The next section describes in detail the current state of the node manipulator lifter tube on spinning machine TORNADO J20, by concern RIETER. It describes the structure, kinematics, duty cycle and requirements for the manipulator. The following optimization options which are described more options for solutions of individual functions of the manipulator, on the end is selected by multi-criteria analysis. The best solution that is elaborate in the next section. The author has created 3-D model optimized lifter tube. Positioning mechanism maintains the current kinematics, it is very similar. But gripper was designed as a passive, thus reduce the load positioning mechanism. Optimization was performed primarily to reduce overall production costs and to reduce weight manipulator. The conclusion is a comparison of current and new solutions. There are also eco-nomic recovery to.

Fazekaš, Slavomír January 2015 (has links)
This thesis describ es a design of co oling channel for the engine installation to the L-410NG aircraft. Firstly, it was compiled on the basis of analytical calculation of channel mo del and afterward underwent CFD analysis. In conclusion, the flowing of analytic calculation characteristics are compared with CFD analysis and there are also describ ed p ossibilities of flowing improvement for next channel mo dification.

Analysis Of The Influence Of Non-machining Process Parameters On Product Quality By Experimental Design And Statistical Analysis

Yurtseven, Saygin 01 September 2003 (has links) (PDF)
This thesis illustrates analysis of the influence of the non-machining processes on product quality by experimental design and statistical analysis. For the analysis objective / dishwasher production in Arcelik Dishwasher plant is examined. Sheet metal forming processes of dishwasher production constitutes the greatest portion of production cost and using the Pareto analysis technique / four pieces among twenty six pieces are determined to be investigated. These four pieces are the U Sheet, L Sheet, Inner Door and Side Panel of the dishwasher. By the help of the flow diagrams production process of the determined pieces are defined. Brainstorming technique and cause&amp / effect diagrams are used to determine which non-machining process parameters can cause pieces to be scrapped. These parameters are used as control factors in experimental design. Taguchi&amp / #8217 / s L16(215) orthogonal array, Taguchi&amp / #8217 / s L16(215) orthogonal array using S/N transformation and 28-4 fractional factorial design are used on purpose. With repetitions and confirmation experiments the effective parameters are determined and optimum level of these parameters are defined for the improvements on scrap quantity and quality of production.
