Personcentrerad vård i hemmet - en kvalitativ studie ur ett sjuksköterskeperspektiv

Bågenholm, Anne, Carlsson, Åsa January 2022 (has links)
Person -centered care is a commonly known concept, despite that the understanding of the phenomenon differs. Nurses seems to talk past each other when the subject of person-centered care is discussed. A common language and understanding for each other’s understanding of what person-centered care in ordinary living includes, seems to be missing.Purpose: The purpose is to give a description of the nurse´s understanding about person-centered care in ordinary living within community healthcare.Method: Phenomenography has been used in this Master Thesis as a method. Phenomenography is an empirical qualitative inductive method. Interviews have been conducted with nurses working within the community health-care systems. Semi-structured open interview questions are designed and used. The analysis of data was carried out according to Sjöström and Dahlgren (2002) and Åkerlind (2012) descriptions. Results: The results are reported in a sample space which consist of four description categories:  see the whole person, support the person to an active roll in their own care,  to use each others skills in the care team and create personal and close relations. These descriptive categories depict the nurse´s perception of person -centered care in ordinary living. Keywords: care, phenomenography, homecare, the person in center

Måltidens sociala betydelse inom äldreomsorgen : en intervjustudie

Olsson, Lena, Phillips, Madelaine January 2019 (has links)

Equilibria in Quitting Games and Software for the Analysis / Gleichgewichte in Quitting Games und Software für ihre Analyse

Fischer, Katharina 08 August 2013 (has links) (PDF)
A quitting game is an undiscounted sequential stochastic game, with finitely many players. At any stage each player has only two possible actions, continue and quit. The game ends as soon as at least one player chooses to quit. The players then receive a payoff, which depends only on the set of players that did choose to quit. If the game never ends, the payoff to each player is zero. In this thesis we give a detailed introduction to quitting games. We examine the existing results for the existence of equilibria and improve an important result from Solan and Vieille stated in their article “Quitting Games” (2001). Since there is no software for the analysis of quitting games, or for stochastic games with more than two players, we provide algorithms and programs for symmetric quitting games, for a reduction by dominance and for the detection of a pure, instant and stationary epsilon-equilibrium.

Fighting the jar of gherkins

Hentschel, Christian 31 May 2012 (has links) (PDF)
Opening food packages without additional aids is a common problem, which especially affects elder people. A study carried out at the Professorship of Human Factors and Ergonomics shows results of opening successes at a variety of packages. Opening a jar of gherkins proved to be a challenging task for the majority of the test persons. Further examples of badly designed packages as well as good solutions are introduced.

Genetic association of objective sleep phenotypes with a functional polymorphism in the neuropeptide S receptor gene

Spada, Janek, Sander, Christian, Burkhardt, Ralph, Häntzsch, Madlen, Mergl, Roland, Scholz, Markus, Hegerl, Ulrich, Hensch, Tilman 12 June 2014 (has links) (PDF)
Background: The neuropeptide S receptor (NPSR1) and its ligand neuropeptide S (NPS) have received increased attention in the last few years, as both establish a previously unknown system of neuromodulation. Animal research studies have suggested that NPS may be involved in arousal/wakefulness and may also have a crucial role in sleep regulation. The single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) rs324981 in NPSR1 has begun to shed light on a function of the NPS-system in human sleep regulation. Due to an amino acid exchange, the T-allele leads to an increased sensitivity of the NPSR1. In the only genomewide association study to date on circadian sleep parameters in humans, an association was found between rs324981 and regular bedtime. However, the sleep parameters in this study were only measured by self-rating. Therefore, our study aimed to replicate these findings using an objective measure of sleep. Methods: The study included n = 393 white subjects (62–79 years) who participated in an actigraphic assessment for determining sleep duration, rest duration, sleep onset, rest onset and sleep onset latency. Genotyping of the SNP rs324981 was performed using the TaqMan OpenArray System. Results: The genotype at rs324981 was not significantly associated with rest onset (bedtime) or sleep onset (p = .146 and p = .199, respectively). However, the SNP showed a significant effect on sleep- and rest duration (p = .007 and p = .003, respectively). Subjects that were homozygous for the minor T-allele had a significantly decreased sleep- and rest duration compared to A-allele carriers. Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that the sleep pattern in humans is influenced by the NPS-system. However, the previously reported association between bedtime and rs324981 could not be confirmed. The current finding of decreased sleep duration in T/T allele carriers is in accordance with studies in rodents reporting similar results after NPS application.
