Des azacalix [4] arenes aux benzoquinonediimines pour la complexation des anions et des cations / Azacalix[4]arenes and benzoquinonediiminess derivatives for applications with anions and cations

Andeme Edzang, Judicaelle 03 December 2015 (has links)
The first pat of this manuscrit deals with the synthetis and fonctionalization of azacalix[4]arnes derivatives while the second part describes a new syntetic access of benzoquinonediimines ligands. In the first part, differents approaches were used to introduce fonctional groups on the peripheral positions of alrealdy formed azacalix[4]arenes. the introduction of hydrogen donor groups such as amides groups generated azacalix[4]arnes based anions receptor that preferentially bind chloride anions. These host-guest complexes are built on supramolecular interations and are one of the main topic of this manuscrit. In the second part, a new synthetic procedure of benzoquinonediimines is described and studied. The simple and efficient one-pot reaction involves a transamination between 1,2,4,5-tetraaminobenzene and primary amine and allows to prepare a large range of N-substituted benzoquinonediimines derivatives. The impact of the N-substitution is enlightened through the study on bimetallic complexes containing a bridging benzoquinonediimine unit.

Supramolecular assemblies with organophosphorated based derivatives for potential applications in optoelectronics / Assemblages supramoléculaires à base de dérivés organophosphores pour l'optoélectronique

Elsayed Moussa, Mehdi 05 November 2013 (has links)
In this work, we have prepared organophosphorated ligands based copper(I) or gold(I) dimers that act as efficient molecular clips thanks to metallophilic interactions. Firstly, a bimetallic copper(I) complex bearing bis(2-pyridyl)phosphole ligands was used as a molecular clip to organize monotopic cyano-capped pi-systems carrying various pi-conjugated fragments into self-assembled pi-stacked dimers. These dimers organized in the solid state within infinite columnar pi-stacks. Secondly, a bimetallic gold(I) complex bearing a biphosphole ligand was used as a molecular clip to organize ethynyl-capped [6]helicene moieties into self-assembled dimers. These dimers showed an enhancement of the chiroptical properties as compared to the free ethynyl[6]helicene ligand. Thirdly, a bimetallic copper(I) complex bearing 1,1-bis(diphenylphosphino)methane (dppm) ligands has revealed a powerful molecular clip to design self-assembled supramolecular architectures by reaction with different cyanometallates. These supramolecular derivatives have different topologies and are emissive in the visible spectrum upon UV excitation and in some cases they showed intriguing thermochromic luminescence properties.

Tamoxifen in leishmaniasis treatment: activity in combined therapeutic schemes and study of mechanism of action.

Cristiana de Melo Trinconi Tronco 04 December 2015 (has links)
Leishmaniasis is a parasitic disease with wide distribution and limited treatment. Recent reports demonstrate that tamoxifen is an effective drug for experimental leishmaniasis treatment. In this work, we evaluated the combined therapy of tamoxifen with current drugs used in leishmaniasis chemotherapy. The drug interaction was additive both, in vitro and in vivo. We also evaluated tamoxifen effect on in Leishmania sphingolipids biosynthesis. We found a reduction in phosphatidylinositol and inositol phosphorylceramide (IPC) synthesis and an accumulation of acilceramide. The reduction in IPC biosynthesis could not be assigned to the reduction observed in inositol transport, but probably is related to IPC synthase inhibition. These results show new strategies to circumvent shortcomings of leishmaniasis treatment using tamoxifen, a multitarget drug in Leishmania and widely used in the chemotherapy of breast cancer.

Odporová pila / Resistance saw

Kalčík, Petr January 2009 (has links)
This work is focused on the design and construction of component parts of resistance saw. Mechanical parts consist of a movable bracket and a taut cutting wire of Constantan. Electrical parts are designed to supply and control temperature of the cutting wire. The current intensity in the cutting wire is compared with the required current intensity. The difference of these two measurements is fed into a PI - controller. The next part is a PWM generator which generates the square wave signal. The pulse ratio of this signal is proportional to the required temperature of the cutting wire. This signal switches a switching converter that consists of a power transistor P-MOSFET IRF5210 and a diode MBR20100CT. Choking coil with a ferrite E core and with the cutting wire is connected to the output of the converter.

Performance evaluation of Raspberry pi 3B as a web server : Evaluating the performance of Raspberry pi 3B as a web server using nginx and apache2

Basha, Israel Tekahun, Istifanos, Meron January 2020 (has links)
Context. During the usage of a product, evaluating its performance quality is a crucial procedure. Web servers are one of the most used technological products in today’s modern world[1]. Thus, in this thesis we will evaluate and compare the performances of two web servers. The servers that are tested in the experiment are a raspberry pi 3B and a personal HP laptop. Objectives. The main objective of the study is to evaluate the performance of a raspberry pi 3B as a web server. In order to give a clearer image of how the raspberry pi performs, the laptop will also be evaluated and its performance will be used as a contrast during the study. Realization. To fulfill our objective, an experiment was conducted with the help of a performance testing tool called apache bench. To provide comprehensive performance results, the served content and the server software were altered throughout the experiment. The number of simulated users sending the requests were also altered. Results. The results were gathered by sending more than 1000 HTTP-requests to the two servers that served static and dynamic websites. The number of served requests per second and the CPU consumption of the servers were the recorded results. The raspberry pi exhibited response times as high as 1164 requests per second and CPU consumption that varied between ≈6% and ≈40%. In comparison to the laptop, on one occasion it exhibited a better processor utilization serving HTTPrequests of one user. Conclusions. Regardless of the used server software, although the laptop was slightly performing better, the raspberry pi had a closer response time in comparison to the laptop when both of them were serving a static website. On the contrary, when both were serving dynamic content the raspberry pi had a very low response time in the comparison. Out of the two used server software, nginx gave it a better CPU consumption in contrast to the laptop that had a better processor. That is irrespective of the served content type.

Studium elektronových přeskoků v systému konjugovaných molekul metodami kvantové mechaniky. / Quantum mechanical study of the electron hoping processes of conjugated systems.

Fatková, Kateřina January 2020 (has links)
This thesis uses previously proposed methodology for simulations of all-trans- polyenes with conjugated systems. Dynamic properties, especially the mean lifeti- mes of the excited states, of these molecules were systematically simulated. Obta- ined data shows that the method is still too time-consuming for polyene molecules with more than 20 carbon atoms, including most carotenoids. Thus, a study of active space reduction was performed with the model tetradecaheptaene molecule with regards to excited state mean lifetimes. A new, less time-consuming method would need further simulation studies. Moreover, static spectra of the these mo- lecules were studied as well, yielding a comparison of different DFT and ab-initio approaches. 1

Real-time Object Detection on Raspberry Pi 4 : Fine-tuning a SSD model using Tensorflow and Web Scraping

Ferm, Oliwer January 2020 (has links)
Edge AI is a growing area. The use of deep learning on low cost machines, such as the Raspberry Pi, may be used more than ever due to the easy use, availability, and high performance. A quantized pretrained SSD object detection model was deployed to a Raspberry Pi 4 B to evaluate if the throughput is sufficient for doing real-time object recognition. With input size of 300x300, an inference time of 185 ms was obtained. This is an improvement as of the previous model; Raspberry Pi 3 B+, 238 ms with a input size of 96x96 which was obtained in a related study. Using a lightweight model is for the benefit of higher throughput as a trade-off for lower accuracy. To compensate for the loss of accuracy, using transfer learning and tensorflow, a custom object detection model has been trained by fine-tuning a pretrained SSD model. The fine-tuned model was trained on images scraped from the web with people in winter landscape. The pretrained model was trained to detect different objects, including people in various environments. Predictions shows that the custom model performs significantly better doing detections on people in snow. The conclusion from this is that web scraping can be used for fine-tuning a model. However, the images scraped is of bad quality and therefore it is important to thoroughly clean and select which images that is suitable to keep, given a specific application.

Röstin, Martin January 2016 (has links)
As the world population ages, the healthcare system is facing new challenges in treating more patients at a lower cost than today. One trend in addressing this problem is to increase the opportunities of in-home care. To achieve this there is a need for safe and cost-effective monitoring systems. Biosignal PI is an ongoing open-source project created to develop a flexible and affordable platform for development of stand-alone devices able to measure and process physiological signals. This master thesis project, performed at the department of Medical Sensors, Signals and System at the School of Technology and Health, aimed at further develop the Biosignal PI software by constructing a new flexible software framework architecture that could be used for measurement and processing of different types of biosignals. The project also aimed at implementing features for Heart Rate Variability(HRV) Analysis in the Biosignal PI software as well as developing a graphical user interface(GUI) for the Raspberry PI hardware module PiFace Control and Display. The project developed a new flexible abstract software framework for the Biosignal PI. The new framework was constructed to abstract all hardware specifics into smaller interchangeable modules, with the idea of the modules being independent in handling their specific task making it possible to make changes in the Biosignal PI software without having to rewrite all of the core. The new developed Biosignal PI software framework was implemented into the existing hardware setup consisting of an Raspberry PI, a small and affordable single-board computer, connected to ADAS1000, a low power analog front end capable of recording an Electrocardiography(ECG). To control the Biosignal PI software two different GUIs were implemented. One GUI extending the original software GUI with the added feature of making it able to perform HRV-Analysis on the Raspberry PI. This GUI requires a mouse and computer screen to function. To be able to control the Biosignal PI without mouse the project also created a GUI for the PiFace Control and Display. The PiFace GUI enables the user to collect and store ECG signals without the need of an big computer screen, increasing the mobility of the Biosignal PI device.   To help with the development process and also to make the project more compliant with the Medical Device Directive a couple of development tools were implemented such as a CMake build system, integrating the project with the Googletest testing framework for automated testing and the implementation of the document generator software Doxygen to be able to create an Software Documentation.    The Biosignal PI software developed in this thesis is available through Github at https://github.com/biosignalpi/Version-A1-Rapsberry-PI / Allt eftersom världens befolkning åldras, ställs sjukvården inför nya utmaningar i att behandla fler patienter till en lägre kostnad än idag.
