Le placement de marques dans une expérience de consommation musicale : enjeux et mesure / Brand placement in a musical consumption experience : stakes and measurement

Degorre, Aline 01 December 2017 (has links)
Facing increasingly violent anti-advertising movements and a diversion of individuals from a strong advertising pressure, marketing has to rethink traditional communication strategies. From this perspective, brand placement appears to be an effective way to promote a brand, a product or a service to individuals. We study the impact of brand placement on the behavior of the consumer in a musical consumer experience. In this context, we present the development of the real-time measurement tool, the Continous Responses Digital Interface. Through an experiment with 240 individuals, we test and validate the research model and the CRDI tool, on two different audiovisual supports. The statistical processing carried out using SmartPLS software highlights short-term memorial effects of brand placement in the audiovisual medium. In addition, our research model highlights the role of flow as a mediator of the relationship between immersion and satisfaction.

Towards an architecture for tag-based predictive placement in distributed storage systems / Vers une architecture pour le placement prédictif dans les systèmes de stockage distribué

Delbruel, Stéphane 27 January 2017 (has links)
This thesis gathers and presents the most important part of the research we carried out over the last few years on decentralised storage systems. In this thesis, we argue that user-generated meta-data in fully distributed user-generated-content systems constitute a reliable source to determine where uploaded content will be consumed in the future. This makes it possible to predictively place this content close to future consumers, thereby maximizing the suitability of proximity caches.

Survey of clinical placements within pre-registration diagnostic radiography programmes in the UK and Ireland

Wilkinson, Elaine 21 June 2023 (has links)
Yes / Placement capacity is a challenge in supporting the clinical education of diagnostic radiography students within the UK at a time where growth in the workforce is required if service delivery needs are to be met. COVID-19 has been one of the catalysts in the growth of innovative and simulated clinical placement models. This survey seeks to understand the current picture of clinical education models and the drivers for it. A short online MS Forms survey with mixed question types was distributed to higher education institutions (HEIs) delivering pre-registration diagnostic radiography programmes in the UK and Ireland. Descriptive and thematic analysis of data was undertaken to gain insight into the clinical placement models used. Responses related to 24 programmes from 17 HEIs were collated. Capacity issues, increased student numbers and ability to achieve the learning outcomes were the drivers for the model and arrangement of clinical placements. Clinical practice hours varied widely across programmes as did the proportion of simulation-based education. Respondents felt an increase in the use of placements in modalities and other settings could further increase training capacity. Opportunities to further change the clinical placement model have been identified which may alleviate some pressure points on capacity. Guidance around clinical practice hours may facilitate a sustainable approach to workforce training. Innovative placement models will require assessment strategies that align in order that students demonstrate relevant capabilities in a range of settings and value varied learning opportunities. The collective engagement and innovation of higher education institutions and service providers will be needed to create sustainable quality models of clinical training and assessment to meet diagnostic radiography workforce requirements.

A Practical Comprehensive Approach to PMU Placement for Full Observability

Altman, James Ross 27 March 2008 (has links)
In recent years, the placement of phasor measurement units (PMUs) in electric transmission systems has gained much attention. Engineers and mathematicians have developed a variety of algorithms to determine the best locations for PMU installation. But often these placement algorithms are not practical for real systems and do not cover the whole process. This thesis presents a strategy that is practical and addresses three important topics: system preparation, placement algorithm, and installation scheduling. To be practical, a PMU strategy should strive for full observability, work well within the heterogeneous nature of power system topology, and enable system planners to adapt the strategy to meet their unique needs and system configuration. Practical considerations for the three placement topics are discussed, and a specific strategy based on these considerations is developed and demonstrated on real transmission system models. / Master of Science

Analysis of an online placement exam for calculus

Ho, Theang January 1900 (has links)
Master of Science / Department of Mathematics / Andrew G. Bennett / An online mathematics placement exam was administered to new freshmen enrolled at Kansas State University for the Fall of 2009. The purpose of this exam is to help determine which students are prepared for a college Calculus I or Calculus II course. Problems on the exam were analyzed and grouped together using different techniques including expert analysis and item response theory to determine which problems were similar or even relevant to placement. Student scores on the exam were compared to their performance on the final exam at the end of the course as well as ACT data. This showed how well the placement exam indicated which students were prepared. A model was created using ACT information and the new information from the placement exam that improved prediction of success in a college calculus course. The new model offers a significant improvement upon what the ACT data provides to advisers. Suggestions for improvements to the test and methodology are made based upon the analysis.

Analysis on an online placement exam for college algebra

Ostapyuk, Nina January 1900 (has links)
Master of Science / Department of Mathematics / Andrew G. Bennett / An online placement exam was administered to 2800 entering freshmen, 700 of whom enrolled in College Algebra during the succeeding Fall semester. Problems on the placement exam were clustered using several different techniques including both expert analysis and item response theory. Student scores on these groupings of problems were then compared to their scores on the first two hour exams in the course (representing the first half of the material in the course) and also on ACT data. Based on this comparison, certain problems were selected as more or less informative for purposes of placement. A model was created using previously available ACT data along with the new placement data to predict initial student success in the course. This model explains 50% more of the variance in student scores than the previously available ACT data alone. Suggestions for improvements to the test and the placement methodology are made based on our analysis.
