Výpočtové modelování dynamiky pístního kroužku / Computational Modelling of Piston Ring Dynamics

Dlugoš, Jozef January 2014 (has links)
Piston rings are installed in the piston and cylinder wall, which does not have a perfect round shape due to machining tolerances or external loads e.g. head bolts tightening. If the ring cannot follow these deformations, a localized lack of contact will occur and consequently an increase in the engine blow-by and lubricant oil consumption. Current 2D computational methods can not implement such effects – more complex model is necessary. The presented master’s thesis is focused on the developement of a flexible 3D piston ring model able to capture local deformations. It is based on the Timoshenko beam theory in cooperation with MBS software Adams. Model is then compared with FEM using software ANSYS. The validated piston ring model is assembled into the piston/cylinder liner and very basic simulations are run. Finally, future improvements are suggested.

Analýza vlivu podlaží a orientace vůči světovým stranám na cenu vybraných bytových jednotek ve Velkém Meziříčí / Analysis of the impact floors and orientation toward the cardinal points on the price of selected housing units in the Velké Meziříčí

Plachetský, Jiří January 2013 (has links)
Master‘s thesis is focused on the analysis of the impact the floors and orientation towards the cardinal points on the price of selected housing units in Velké Meziříčí. The theoretical part defines the basic terms associated with the valuation and describes the valuation methods. In the practical part there is performed the valuation of the selected housing units according to the valid price provision and direct comparison method. There is also described a location and a real estate market. By mutual comparing the observed prices and their analysis proves to extent to which in fact examined parameters affect the real price.

Porovnání tržních cen nemovitostí s cenami zjištěnými porovnávacím způsobem podle oceňovacích předpisů / Comparasion of property market prices with prices discovered in a comparative way according to estimate regulations

Komosná, Milada Unknown Date (has links)
This thesis deals with a comparison of the market prices of Brno family houses. The compared prices are estimated using the comparative way based on the price regulations and using the comparative method. A new coefficient for the comparative method is proposed in the thesis. This coefficient takes into account the influence of the distance of the estimate property from the city centre in the connection with the position. One of the main reasons to introduce this coefficient was to obtain the best result when estimating the price, the result which is the closest to the required market price. The use of the coefficient of the global position may lead to better results of the price estimate, especially in bigger cities where this influence is revealed the most.

Evoluční návrh hašovacích funkcí / Evolutionary Design of Hash Functions

Kidoň, Marek January 2016 (has links)
Hash tables are fast associative array implementations which became part of modern world of information technology and thanks to its simplicity became very popular among computer programmers. The choice of proper hash function is very important. Improperly selected hash function can result in poor hash table performance and its application. Currently there are many exceptional implementations of general hash functions. Such functions are not constrained to a concrete set of inputs, they perform on any input. On the other hand if we know the input domain we can design a specific hash function for desired application thus reaching better levels of performance compare to a general hash function. However hash function design is not trivial. There are no rules, standards, guides nor automated tools that would help us with such a task. In case of manual design the hash function author has to rely on his/her knowledge, experience, inventiveness and intuition. In case of such complicated tasks there is sometimes advantageous to choose a different path and use techniques such as evolution algorithms. Natural computing is an approach of certain problem solutions that are inspired by the process of species reproduction as defined by Charles Darwin. In this thesis we will design hash functions for the domain of IP addresses, that serve as an unique network device interface identifier in internet protocol networks. The chosen subset of natural computing is the genetic programming, a very specific technique that is an adequate approach to our problem thanks to its properties. Evolutionary designed hash functions offer good properties. They outperform state-of-the-art generic, human-created hash functions in terms of speed and collision resistance.

Vícestupňové stochastické programování s CVaR: modely, algoritmy a robustnost / Multi-Stage Stochastic Programming with CVaR: Modeling, Algorithms and Robustness

Kozmík, Václav January 2015 (has links)
Multi-Stage Stochastic Programming with CVaR: Modeling, Algorithms and Robustness RNDr. Václav Kozmík Abstract: We formulate a multi-stage stochastic linear program with three different risk measures based on CVaR and discuss their properties, such as time consistency. The stochastic dual dynamic programming algorithm is described and its draw- backs in the risk-averse setting are demonstrated. We present a new approach to evaluating policies in multi-stage risk-averse programs, which aims to elimi- nate the biggest drawback - lack of a reasonable upper bound estimator. Our approach is based on an importance sampling scheme, which is thoroughly ana- lyzed. A general variance reduction scheme for mean-risk sampling with CVaR is provided. In order to evaluate robustness of the presented models we extend con- tamination technique to the case of large-scale programs, where a precise solution cannot be obtained. Our computational results are based on a simple multi-stage asset allocation model and confirm usefulness of the presented procedures, as well as give additional insights into the behavior of more complex models. Vnímání konců slov u studentů angličtiny / Word-ending perception in second-language learners of English

Jiránková, Lucie January 2017 (has links)
THESIS ABSTRACT Word final positions are sometimes described as optionally salient, depending on the presence or the absence of bound morphology. In fact, word final positions often incur disruptive phonological processes (such as deletion or assimilation) but these processes are partially blocked in the presence of bound morphology. Some evidence suggests that these effects may also be active in the sublexicon (i.e. with no access to semantics). Investigations of this phenomenon so far focused on monolingual speakers, and little is known about the presence of these effects on speakers with English as their L2. This diploma thesis aims at partially filling this gap by focusing on the perceptual salience of word endings as perceived by second- language learners of English having Czech as their L1. The methodology is based on Cilibrasi (2015). The subjects tested were adult second- language learners of English of different language levels (B1, B2 and C1). In the experimental part, they were asked to listen to pairs of non-words and decide if the non-words are identical or slightly different by pressing one of two keys. There were three conditions: Condition 1 with non-words containing potential morphological information, condition 2 with non-words with no morphological information and condition 3 as a control...

Užití spojovacích prostředků v textech nerodilých mluvčích češtiny / The use of Connectors in the Texts of Non-Native Speakers of Czech

Pečený, Pavel January 2017 (has links)
Title: The Use of Connectors in the Texts of Non-Native Speakers of Czech Author: Pavel Pečený Department: Institute of Czech Language and Theory of Communication Faculty of Arts, Charles University Supervisor: doc. RNDr. Vladimír Petkevič, CSc. Abstract Over the last few years two learner corpora of authentic texts of non-native speakers of Czech have originated (MERLIN Corpus and CzeSL Corpus), giving linguists an important source of data for researching Czech as a foreign language. Ergo, for the first time it is possible to carry out the language analysis of non-native speakers of Czech using tools of corpus linguistics to formulate evidence-based research findings. The presented thesis uses that as well, focussing on the study and description of the use of connectors in the written text production of non-native speakers of Czech, being primarily based on evidence from the learner MERLIN Corpus, which as opposed to other corpora is characterized by linking written text production reliably to the proficiency levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), including the levels of A2-B2. At the same time, it also contains a text error annotation, thus enabling to ascertain what effect the language proficiency has on the extent of the repertoire and frequency of using connectors,...

Pokročilé momentové metody pro analýzu obrazu / Advanced Moment-Based Methods for Image Analysis

Höschl, Cyril January 2018 (has links)
The Thesis consists of an introduction and four papers that contribute to the research of image moments and moment invariants. The first two papers focus on rectangular decomposition algorithms that rapidly speed up the moment calculations. The other two papers present a design of new moment invariants. We present a comparative study of cutting edge methods for the decomposition of 2D binary images, including original implementations of all the methods. For 3D binary images, finding the optimal decomposition is an NP-complete problem, hence a polynomial-time heuristic needs to be developed. We propose a sub-optimal algorithm that outperforms other state of the art approximations. Additionally, we propose a new form of blur invariants that are derived by means of projection operators in a Fourier domain, which improves mainly the discrimination power of the features. Furthermore, we propose new moment-based features that are tolerant to additive Gaussian image noise and we show by extensive image retrieval experiments that the proposed features are robust and outperform other commonly used methods.

Kazachstán: úmrtnost v evropském kontextu (srovnání s vybranými evropskými zeměmi a etniky) / Kazakhstan: Mortality in European context (comparison with selected European countries and nationalities)

Petkov, Michal January 2010 (has links)
Kazakhstan: Mortality in european context (comparison with selected european countries and nationalities) Abstract The aim of this diploma thesis is to compare mortality rates in Kazakhstan with selected European countries. The first part discusses literature, available data sources and a list of indicators. The thesis deals with brief outline of history and development of ethnic composition in this Central Asian republic. Another section contains a comparison of the economic and social conditions in Kazakhstan with two selected European countries - the Czech Republic and Sweden. The thesis continues with comparison and development of the most important mortality indicators in the three above mentioned countries. The last chapter summarizes findings from the comparison of mortality backgrounds of three selected European minorities living in Kazakhstan (Germans, Russians and Ukrainians) with their country of origin. The analysis of above mentioned factors shows a clear gap in Kazakhstan levels of mortality in comparison with selected European countries. A Comparison of mortality of European minorities living in the territory of Kazakhstan with their countries of origin shows a big difference for German nationality, for Russians and Ukrainians the differences are minimal. Keywords: Kazakhstan, European...
