Rýcová, Zuzana January 2012 (has links)
Main objective of the thesis is to evaluate trade and political relations between the Czech Republic and selected countries in Latin America (selected countries will be those with strongest ties to the Czech Republic). Hypothesis: Trade and political relations between Czech Republic and Latin American Countries are well developing in the course of the time. Latin-American region provides a great potential for future cooperation. Emphasis will be targeted on the assessment of business conditions (including bilateral agreements on mutual trade), further on the most important export commodities and investment opportunities. At the same time, the work will attempt to estimate the level of potential of Latin American territory and further direction of mutual relationships. The research will contain a questionnaire for Czech entrepreneurs operating in Latin America and a thorough analysis of mutual trade will be given. Unfortunately, this subject is not documented with a large number of printed books, therefore, the key source of information will be databases and statistical information published by state institutions (Chamber of Deputies, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Industry and Trade, etc.). Analýza dopadů zavedení limitního opatření na náklady na předvolební kampaně politických stran / Analysis of the impact of the act which limits the election expenses of the political parties

Šimůnková, Barbora January 2011 (has links)
The mail goal of this work is to provide enough arguments, on which basis we can come to a conclusion if an act about limits on election costs of political parties in the Czech Republic could bring a positive effect. The work compares data on economic activities of political parties in the Slovak Republic with political parties in the Czech Republic. Experts on election costs define some interest groups which can benefit from this law. These groups include large and small parties, incumbents and challengers parties. The work does not neglect the analysis of non-governmental organizations that have attempted to monitor the implementations, effects and loopholes of such a law. The conclusion brings the finding that the voters may be influenced by a number of important factors, such as political and social situation in the country, by the well prepared and carried out campaign i.e. it is also found out that election costs does not play such an important role that is assigned to them. Regulation in the form of an upper limit of election expenses can be considered as another marketing tool that is used to obtain political party voters.

Politická rizika v mezinárodním podnikání - případová studie / Political risks in international business - case study

Býčková, Iveta January 2012 (has links)
In a competitive and increasingly internationalized business world, many companies rely on the high risk of operating in unstable areas. Those companies willing to engage in other countries can often be exposed to a politically volatile environment over which they have little control. I focused in this thesis on political risk, because it is one of the most hazardous challenges that an international business can face. Although political risk is not a new phenomenon, concern over it has increased significantly in recent years. This new prominence has been reflected in an outpouring of articles on the subject in the business press, wider academic attention, commitment of resources to access political risk by a significant number of international firms, and large number of consulting firms offering services to help management to come to grips with political problem abroad. Political risk as potentially significant managerial contingencies is generated by political events and processes. But that statement begs a number of important questions. First, and perhaps the least tractable, is the scope of the relevant environment in terms of the specific meaning attached to political events and processes. Second, defining political risk in terms of contingencies suggests the presence of uncertainty. Third question is, whether political risk discourage Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). The accurate assessment of political risk can make the difference between success and failure for the company. While environmental or political risk assessment has become an explicit function in many companies and is inherent in all foreign investment, the uncertain ties of foreign political environments continue to pose critical problems for managers. This thesis also aims to provide space for theoretical support to political risk assessment. It explores methods, institutional and organizational basis of political risk assessment. Last chapter is devoted to looking at the political risk problems in Brazil, and the risks that firms might face by doing business in the country. With growth set to continue, it has been forecast that by 2025 Brazil will become the world's fifth largest economy, overtaking Britain and France, while Sao Paulo will rank higher than Paris and Shanghai as the world's sixth wealthiest city. Many of investors see growth opportunities in Brazil's mining, energy, and agriculture sectors. Infrastructure presents another opportunity. With the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Olympics being held in the country, many companies in the communications and tourism industries stand to reap the rewards.

Evropská témata v parlamentní rozpravě / The European issues in the parliamentary debates

Mouchová, Kamila January 2012 (has links)
This thesis deals with the topic of parliamentary debates about European issues in the Czech Parliament, concerning the period of 2010 -- 2012. The main goal is to research the positions of parliamentary political parties which they take toward the current European integration process. The fundamental question is whether these positions are primarily related to the left-right ideological spectrum or if it is influenced by some other factors. One of the important contributions of this work is its methodological part. The position research is based on the quantitative content analysis of the parliamentary speeches of the Members of Parliament and Senators. These speeches are always linked to the European legislative acts.

Year of the defense: 2021 Abstract: Error! No text of specified style in document. iii Abstract While initiatives across the globe started to combat and mitigate climate change, their effort and ability differ significantly, especially in regard to the abilities to transform the energy sector as one of the biggest emitters in our society. Thus, transitioning away from the current global energy system is of paramount importance and drivers, as well as obstacles for a successful transition must be identified. The transition towards low-carbon, more resilient and reliable energy systems does require more than changes in technologies as the process is also shaped by changes in the rules and regulations which govern energy systems. Politické násilí v Turecku / Political Violence in Turkey

Özturan, Betül January 2021 (has links)
This thesis aims to create a novel dataset on political violence to estimate the accurate number of political violence incidents and fatalities in Turkey: Political Violence in Turkey Event Dataset (POLVITED). I argue that the reporting bias and differences in the scopes and definition of event datasets impact the quantitative study of conflict and violence. To eliminate the reporting bias and create a comprehensive dataset on political violence, I apply Matching Event Data by Location, Time and Type (MELTT) method to the Global Terrorism Database(GTD) and Uppsala Conflict Data Programme (UCDP-GED). The finding suggests that UCDP-GED were able to record 65% of the total number of political violence incidents in Turkey, and GTD was able to record 45% of them while 10% is coded in both datasets. POLVITED enables the researchers to capture the accurate picture of political violence incidents in Turkey by eliminating the double recording and alleviating the reporting bias. Lastly, the comparison of POLVITED and official reports demonstrates that, although the reporting bias is inevitable, integration alleviates the problems associated with it by increasing the coverage of the dataset.

It surveys the parties' positions during the debating of the media legislation and parties' attitudes on the practice of confiscation and censorship in the context of the importance of the press for the party politics. Since the political parties' positions were strongly influenced by the specific context of the era, attention is also devoted to some of the peculiar characteristics of the First Republic.

Právní úprava postavení politických stran v ČR / Legal regulation of the status of political parties in the Czech Republic

Holoubek, Tomáš January 2021 (has links)
1 Abstract The aim of the thesis is to present a comprehensive picture of the legal regulation governing the status and activities of political parties in the Czech Republic, to point out its weaknesses and, where appropriate, to present de lege ferenda proposals. The thesis is divided into four parts. The first part deals with the general development of modern political parties and the reasons that led to their institutionalization. Then, it presents the development of the legal regulation of political parties in the Czech lands, starting with the revolutionary events of 1848 and 1849 and ending with the establishment of the independent Czech Republic. The quasi-institution of political movements, whose presence in the legal system cannot be defended in any way, is also presented. The second part deals with the constitutional incorporation of political parties. At the constitutional level, the privileged role of political parties in the political system is explicitly recognised. Safeguards for the free development of political parties are enshrined here, but also their obligation to respect fundamental democratic principles. The third part deals with the legal regulation of the most important aspects of the life of political parties - the issues of their formation and dissolution, the regulation of...
