Strategická analýza odvětví zpracování vína z hroznů v ČR / Strategic analysis of Czech republic´s wine industry

The aim of the thesis is to analyze Czech republic's wine industry environment. Models used in the thesis are typical for strategic analysis and examine both macro and micro view of the examined entreprises. Firstly the PESTLE analysis will be conducted, describing political, economical, social, technological, legal and ecological aspects relevant to the industry within the Czech republic. Secondly I focus on the particular characteristics of the analyzed sector in terms of product differentiation, market size, competition, distribution channels and expected future trends. This characteristic also covers the financial sector analysis as well as value and bankruptcy models. Third section covers Porter five forces analysis and defines impact of new competitors, customers, suppliers, substitutes as well as existing competition. Last section consist of the SWOT analysis of identified market leader. It describes his strengths and weaknesses, and based on previous analyzes formulates opportunities and threats for the industry in which he is located.

The aim of this Masters thesis is the implementation of the strategic analysis on nongovernmental organization Stará škola, z.s. In first, theoretical part it focuses on the characteristics of the non-profit sector and the methodology used for the strategic analysis. The second part applies this methodology on the organization Stará škola. To analyze the macroenvironment it uses PEST analysis, in the context of microenvironment it focuses on the analysis of competitors, clients and public. This thesis also includes financial analysis, which also focuses on models BAMF and KAMF, which are often used in the context of NGOs. In conclusion, the thesis aims to evaluate the overall status of the organization and list some recommendations for the future.

Aspects of the South African music industry : an analytical perspective

The music industry worldwide is rapidly evolving as a result of commercial, technological and demographic developments. The magnitude of the strategic impact of these developments on the South African music industry is evaluated in terms of internal and external factors, such as the intrinsic industry growth levels, ability to adapt to change, the consumer buying power, audio-visual piracy and counterfeiting, literacy, employment and the prevalence of HIV/AIDS. Collected data from public domain and proprietary music industry sources are transformed and presented in terms of the competitiveness of the South African music industry, from which key points for strategic leverage are identified. These key points of strategic leverage include education and training, relevant music industry research, the formalisation of the music industry strategy process and the development of alternative marketing, sales and distribution channels. In comparison to specific benchmark countries, the South African music industry has significant technological and socio-economic challenges and opportunities that need to be addressed in order to become a competitive co-evolutionary participant in the world music industry. South Africa, as an emerging world player, is ideally positioned for the development and implementation of new technological and commercial systems, such as the download distribution channel. This however, requires the collaborative participation of government departments, educational institutions, public and private enterprises. In particular, in-depth research on the local music industry is needed, which should include the collection of relevant statistical data. La situación competitiva de la industria vinícola en la Comunidad Valenciana. Factores determinantes de la diferenciación de precios

El sector vitivinícola se encuentra profundamente arraigado desde antaño en la Comunidad Valenciana, y aunque su importancia económica no sea muy relevante (constituye el 5,2 % de las ventas totales de la industria agroalimentaria regional), tiene una significativa importancia social (el cooperativismo representa cerca del 70 % en los procesos iniciales de comercialización), territorial y ambiental (abarca amplias zonas desfavorecidas y de montaña con escasas alternativas en otros cultivos). Por otro el desequilibrio entre la oferta y la demanda de vino está provocando una fuerte reducción de precios en origen que está recayendo fundamentalmente en el subsector productor de uva, el cual en muchos casos está obteniendo unos ingresos inferiores a los costes de producción. En este contexto, los objetivos principales de la presente Tesis Doctoral son: por un lado, determinar la posición competitiva del subsector vinícola regional; por otro, determinar los factores determinantes de la calidad de los vinos, en su estrecha relación con el valor comercial y la diferenciación de los mismos, con la finalidad última de identificar aquellos aspectos que en mayor medida puedan contribuir a mejorar la competitividad del mismo, y en particular la asociada a factores de orden superior, vía precios y calidad. La posición competitiva de la industria vinícola regional se ha resumido: a) en términos de factores endógenos y exógenos que influyen sobre ella, utilizando el conocido modelo dafo; b) según los determinantes de que consta el modelo del diamante de Porter. La intensidad o rivalidad competitiva entre la empresas que configuran el subsector ha sido definida utilizando el modelo de las cinco fuerzas de Porter. Se concluye por ambos modelos a) y b), que la situación competitiva del subsector es débil, en el sentido de que la mayoría de las empresas son incapaces de incorporar valor añadido a sus producciones comercializadas a granel.
