My Diploma Thesis is themed Investigation of market opportunities for a selected company, the Haberdashery in Vyšší Brod and their draft solution, including financial situation.The Diploma Thesis consists of two main parts: literature search and a practical part. The first step to understand the theme was a study of special literature written by the most prestigious Czech and foreign authors. Further step for a composition of the literature search was a preparation of the practical part that followed. First of all I analysed the textile industry segment.I consulted processing of the company characteristics with the owner of the company and her external auditor.An important step to meet the objective was an environmental analysis, within which I applied the below listed partial analyses:PEST analysis,Porter{\crq}s five forces,Internal Analysis of a company,SWOT analysis.To complete this thesis I carried out a questionnaire survey within the company customers that was applied for the first time during the Bachelor{\crq}s Thesis themed Effect of a microenvironment on satisfaction of customer needs and wishes in a selected company.In conclusion I made an assessment of the company existing situation, proposed solution and herewith met the objective of my Diploma Thesis.

Practical part of thesis goes into actual analysis of a market environment, which refers to established company. The business plan for EM WORKS Ltd is also created. This company provides electro installation services. The final part of thesis includes strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of established company gained through SWOT analysis.

The main goal of this thesis was to analyze present condition in wide context, to propose solution of other development cooperation in choice territory and to express his efficiency. The object of research is company HS AUTO, spol. s r. o, connected to the automobile net, which is occurring in České Budějovice. In terms of solution diploma work were elaborated SWOT analysis of choice company and Porter´s five forces model of competitive surrounding. On the basis of worked analyses were created strategy and measures, which are adverting to present condition and are trying to contribute to development of company activities. On basis of assembled information and performed analyses was effected proposal for cooperation improvement in terms of net with emphasis on improvement and development company activities and its function.

A base do Planejamento Estratégico é o diagnóstico estratégico. O objetivo do estudo foi realizar o diagnóstico estratégico de marketing na unidade de produção e beneficiamento de sementes em uma empresa, com foco na competitividade. Seguindo o que propõe os princípios da Administração Estratégica, utilizou-se três metodologias de análise: o modelo de Porter, a análise SWOT (em Inglês) ou FOFA e a análise da concorrência. O modelo de Porter identifica cinco forças no ambiente de uma organização que influenciam a concorrência (Rivalidade entre concorrentes, Ameaças de novos entrantes, Poder de barganha dos fornecedores, Ameaças de produtos substitutos e Poder de barganha dos Clientes) e a análise FOFA que considera a influência dos ambientes interno e externo sobre a competitividade da empresa. No ambiente interno foram analisados os pontos fortes e fracos. Já no ambiente externo procurou-se identificar as oportunidades e ameaças. A análise da concorrência foi feita com os principais concorrentes diretos da empresa. Os resultados obtidos servirão de suporte para a realização do Planejamento Estratégico de Marketing. / The strategic planning, continues being important in the organizations. The base of the Strategic Planning is the strategic diagnosis. The objective of the present study was to accomplish the strategic diagnosis of marketing in a seed company, with focus in the competitiveness. It was used three analysis methodologies: the model of Porter, the analysis SWOT and the analysis of the competition. The model of Porter identifies five forces in the environment of an organization that its influence by competition (Rivality among competitors, Threats of new incomings, Suppliers bargain, Substitutes products , Customers treats and power) and the SWOT analysis that considers the internals and external influences about the company competitiveness. In the internal atmosphere the strong and weak points were analyzed. The analysis of the competition was made with the direct competitive principal of the company. The obtained results will serve as support for the accomplishment of the Marketing Strategic Planning.

[pt] O objetivo deste estudo é o de comparar o desempenho do paradigma SCP (Mason, 1939; Bain, 1956, 1968), e de Porter (1980) na indústria farmacêutica brasileira no período de 1999 a 2002. Não se pretende, portanto, analisar a aplicabilidade ou robustez destes modelos ou mesmo criticá-los, mas tão somente testar sua aderência à realidade brasileira. Para a pesquisa, foram consideradas as 50 empresas da indústria farmacêutica brasileira com maior faturamento em reais no ano de 2002, representando 91% do faturamento total e 90% das unidades vendidas. Os dados foram retirados de Cohen (2004) e têm como fonte a base de dados do Pharmaceutical Market Brazil- PMB. Com base na técnica estatística de Modelo de Equações Estruturais e nos passos descritos por Hair et al (1998) para sua aplicação, testaram-se as variáveis selecionadas, determinaram-se as cargas em cada um dos modelos por meio da utilização do LISREL e, por fim, compararam-se os resultados apurados para os dois modelos teóricos. Concluiu-se, reservadamente, a despeito da qualidade da amostra, de pequena quantidade de casos, e do número de variáveis usadas para medir os construtos, que as estratégias das empresas têm influência mais importante no desempenho que o ambiente, confirmando estudos anteriores, e que esta influência é igual nos dois modelos testados. Uma sugestão para melhoria dos resultados diz respeito à troca da amostra pelo universo dos laboratórios, o que aumentaria a possibilidade de aderência dos modelos, sem que isso, necessariamente, venha a implicar relação direta com técnicas gerenciais. Outra, sem dúvida, seria a manutenção da amostra, mas com reavaliação das variáveis de teste. / [en] This study aims at comparing the performance of SCP (Mason, 1939; Bain, 1956, 1968) and Porter´s (1980) models in the Brazilian pharmaceutical industry between 1999 and 2002. The intension is not, therefore, to analyze the applicability or robustness of these models or even to criticize them, but just to test its adherence to the Brazilian reality. For the research, the 50 companies with greater revenue in reais in the year of 2002, in the pharmaceutical industry, are considered. They represent 91% of the total industry revenue and 90% of the industry sold units. Data are collected after Cohen (2004), which source is the Pharmaceutical Market Brazil-PMB data base. Based on the statistical technique of Structural Equations Model - SEM and using the stages described by Hair et al (1998) for its application, the selected variables are tested, the models are designed and calculated by means of LISREL and, at the end, results are compared. The conclusion, with reserves, is that, despite the quality of the sample - having small number of cases and proporcional great number of variables used to measure the constructs - the companies strategies show greater influence on the performance than the industrial structure, confirming previous studies, and that this influence is same in the two tested models. A suggestion for the improvement of the results concerns changing the used sample for the universe of the laboratories, what would increase the possibility of adherence of the models, without implicating direct relationship with managerial techniques. Other sugestion is to maintain the sample, but with revaluation of the test variables.

This thesis aims to propose and formulate the growth strategy for ZPA Nová Paka, a.s. company, that produces and sales measurement and control technologies for selected nuclear energy markets in the EU. The theoretical part deals with a basic strategic growth premise analysis, an analysis of the external and internal factors and a risk analysis. The analytic part contains a complex macro-environmental SLEPT analysis, a Porter five forces model analysis of branch competition and a 7S analysis of the internal environment. These results will purpose a means of reducing the strategy-related risks and options of generating profit after the return of the investments.
