Preparing for a Competition in a Pandemic : The process from practice room to stage given the circumstances of the Covid-19 world crisisCassiers, Anaïs January 2021 (has links)
The aim of this bachelor’s thesis is to go through the process of preparing a specific repertoire for the purpose of perfomance at a piano competition during the Covid-19 world pandemic. The goal will be to give an analysis of such process, and understand the differences and requirements it entails in comparison to the preparation for piano competitions under normal circumstances. I have used a journal to relate the process and write about the overall experience, as well as videos from group lessons and other performances, insights from my professor and peers and my own analysis of this method as material to examine this subject.I aspire to provide aid for other musicians who show interest in this topic and look for both ideas and other pianists’ experience in the process of competing.

Process for preparing work instructions : A multiple case study at Volvo Group Trucks Operations / Kartläggning av beredningsprocessen : En multipel fallstudie på Volvo LastvagnarJansson, Sofie, Delin, Frida January 2015 (has links)
A study made by Johansson, Fast-Berglund and Moestam (in press) shows that diversity regarding how information is used exists in global production networks. To be closer to markets, organizations have chosen to globalize their business which is one reason for why diversity arises. This because product types and brands historically have been different. One company that is currently working with improving consistency among processes is Volvo Group Trucks Operations (GTO). The company wants to evaluate how the process for preparing assembly work instructions looks like at different sites within their production network. This enables Volvo GTO to start their work towards a standardized process and uniformity. A starting point for this is to make a current state analysis of the process for preparing assembly work instructions when producing Volvo trucks, engines and transmissions in Sweden. The purpose is to identify key activities within the process and important factors to consider when standardizing the process. This is done on three sites, one for each area. Volvo GTO is the part of the Volvo Group that covers all production of engines and transmissions as well as the production of Volvo, Renault, Mack, and UD trucks. In 2012 the group choose to reorganize from brand based where each brand was an own organization to joint units, for example center of development, operations etc. This has led to a greater need of one common process for preparing assembly work instructions in order to create uniformity among the brands Volvo, Renault, Mack, and UD trucks. The result of the current state analysis shows that the process for preparing assembly work instructions is differently performed depending on the site studied. Despite this, some activities in each process are similar. These were found to be: design, review, time setting, time analysis, balancing, station marking, create assembly work instructions, and share information. Since some activities actually are similar, it would be possible to standardize the process for preparing assembly work instructions in the future. Important to consider when standardizing a process is to create awareness and involvement among employees. It is also important to have the management committed as well as uniformity among IT systems used when performing a process. One last thing to consider is that the process needs to be adaptable because sites are located all over the world and have different culture and regulations.

The aim of this work is to evaluate the current process of preparing the surface for adherence of thermal insulation in rocket motor of 1,000 mm diameter, seeking their use in Maraging18Ni300 steel, taking as parameters comparison the of surface roughness and mechanical adhesive strength obtained, currently, in the bonded interface metal /heat insulator 300M-ESR steel. A field experiment was conducted with a quantitative approach, by measuring surface roughness (Ra) on the surfaces of steel samples, subjected to mechanical surface treatment of dry abrasive blasting, with steel shot with angular profile and which were, subsequently, selected and used in bonded joints that were finally submitted to mechanical shear tests to verify the mechanical adhesive strength. The use of statistical methods of analysis (variance analysis, Tukey test, confidence interval), applied to selected data, allowed to establish for the current process, a range of mechanical adhesive strength for each steel investigated. The results confirm, with a good safety margin, that the current process of preparing the surface for adhesion of thermal insulation can be applied to the Maraging18Ni300 steel, without significant loss of mechanical adhesive strength in the metal /heat insulator bonded interface.

Svensk ull i textilproduktion. / Swedish wool in textile production. : A study on the advantages and disadvantages of Swedish textile companies experiences inproduction with swedish wool.Nääs, Julia, Martinez, Michaela January 2020 (has links)
The majority of the wool produced by Swedish sheep has been discarded or burned for several years. At the same time, Swedish textile companies import tons of wool for millions of swedish crowns each year. This problem was brought to attention a few years ago and a number of Swedish companies have since started to produce products from the Swedish wool. In this qualitative study, an investigation was conducted to compile the pros and cons of producing textile products in Swedish wool. Semi-structured interviews have been conducted with ten different companies that are currently working with the material. The results of the study show that the biggest problem with wool production in Sweden is the lack of an organized infrastructure in purchasing and production. The advantage of producing textile products in Swedish wool is that it is a material with good properties for several applications. It is a sustainable choice of material as the wool is otherwise wasted. The proximity to the material also facilitates the control of the entire value chain being managed in an ethical and sustainable way.
