Medborgarens fokus - ett perspektivskifte : Kommunens roll gentemot medborgarenHjort Koverberg, Hanna January 2016 (has links)
Creating a good relation towards the citizens is a major challenge for most municipalities. The citizens' trust towards Botkyrka municipality has decreased, despite large efforts for increased democracy and public participation. In order to reverse this trend, Botkyrka municipality 2013 changed their perspective to the Citizens' focus, to work with instead of for the citizens, and made a process oriented organizational change at the shift of 2015-2016. The purpose of this report is to examine the meaning of the concept Citizens' focus and how it can influence the planning practice. To answer this, an interview was conducted with Botkyrka's Municipal Director. A document study was also made together with a comparison between the Municipality of Botkyrka's thoughts on Citizens' focus and management concept of the healthcare sector, the Patient path, and the research project Mellanplats. The study shows that an increased cooperation between the municipality and the citizens are a desired outcome of the implementation of Citizens' focus, a cooperation to meet the needs of the citizens together and where the planners can assist and guide the citizen through smoother municipal flows. The analysis shows tendencies of different planning ideals and underlying motives, which can greatly influence the outcome. Therefore, Botkyrka municipality should clearly formulate the concept of Citizens' focus and work towards a common view of its goal and purpose. A conclusion is that Botkyrka municipality can, by implementing the concept of Citizens' focus, create a stronger relationship with the citizens and gain their trust if the concept has a successful implementation. Citizens' focus can lead the way into the future way of looking at the municipal role towards the citizens.

An In-Depth Exploration of Clinical Patterns Within Spiritually Integrated TherapyJackson, Russell Neilend 27 July 2020 (has links)
The last 3 decades have seen a dramatic increase in the creation and effective use of spiritually integrated therapy (SIT) for a wide variety of client populations and clinical issues. The outcome research on SIT has increased and improved dramatically, yet process research on SIT has lagged somewhat. While valuable, prior process-oriented studies on SIT have used retrospective survey methods and asked about generalized usage rates of predetermined spiritual interventions. Rather than relying on retrospective reports of SIT with clients, there is great value and likely greater accuracy in examining session-by-session usage of SIT with clients and identifying correlational patterns between clinical issues and spiritual interventions. The current study used a descriptive, practice-based evidence approach and analyzed session-by-session process data from a private practice explicitly marketed as offering SIT. After every therapy session, eight therapists at this site completed an in-depth process measure, the Clinically Adaptive Therapist Session Checklist, and reported which clinical issues they discussed and which spiritual interventions they used in session. Findings revealed that therapists discussed self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and religious/spiritual concerns in over half of their sessions. Therapists also endorsed affirming clients' divine worth, encouraged trusting God, encouraged clients to listen to their heart, and encouraged accepting God's love in over half of their sessions. The strongest positive correlations between spiritual interventions and clinical issues were between challenging shame and challenging fear, and emotional orientation (r = 0.664 and 0.648, respectively). The clinical patterns found in this analysis illustrate one way of incorporating spirituality into clinical work. This study highlights the importance of routine outcome/process monitoring systems to help illuminate the process of SIT and contribute to deliberate practice efforts in the field. This study also stimulated discussion on the distinction between SIT and being a spiritually centered therapist.

Actively Teaching Research Methods With a Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning ApproachMullins, Mary H. 08 August 2017 (has links)
Active learning approaches have shown to improve student learning outcomes and improve the experience of students in the classroom. This article compares a Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning style approach to a more traditional teaching method in an undergraduate research methods course. Moving from a more traditional learning environment to a student-centered approach proved an enjoyable experience for the students and the instructor as well. The learning method forces students into an active role in the classroom and allows the instructor to be the facilitator of the learning experience. Students are able to explore course content and gain valuable group skills in the process.

Exploring how process oriented guided inquiry learning elicits learners’ reasoning about stoichiometryMamombe, Charles January 2021 (has links)
This study explored how Process-Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL) elicits learners’ reasoning about stoichiometry. The study further explored the perceptions of both teachers and learners over the use of POGIL in the field of stoichiometry. A qualitative case study was carried out at two conveniently and purposely sampled township schools in Pretoria, South Africa. For this purpose, two 11th grade physical sciences classes (N=48) and their respective teachers who were previously trained to teach using POGIL, gave consent to participate in the study. Data were collected using pre-intervention test, post-intervention test and lesson observations, as well as focus group interviews for learners and individual interviews for teachers. All data were coded and analysed with the aid of ATLAS.ti software for qualitative data analysis.
The pre-intervention test indicated that the learners lacked reasoning in solving stoichiometry questions. The post-intervention test results indicated that the learners improved their mathematical reasoning and achievement. The findings from the observations indicate that the learners were excited, motivated and actively engaged in their work, assisting one another by endeavouring to answer questions supported with justification. The findings from the focus group interviews indicate that the learners were excited to learn using POGIL and wished to use it in other subjects such as mathematics. The learners anticipated an improvement in their grades and understanding of stoichiometry. The findings from the teachers’ interviews indicated that they too appreciated using POGIL. They found POGIL useful in reducing misconceptions, increasing learner participation, increasing understanding and achievement, and felt that their learners were interested in utilising POGIL as a learning tool. The results indicated that POGIL increased learners’ reasoning, understanding, achievement, active participation, and interest in learning. / Thesis (PhD)--University of Pretoria, 2021. / National Research Foundation (NRF) / Science, Mathematics and Technology Education / PhD / Unrestricted

Konsten att prova sina vingar : förutsättningar för kreativa förändringsprocesser i socialt arbete – en kvalitativ studie / The art in trying one's wings : a prerequisite for creative change processes in social work - a qualitative studyFlensner, Katarina January 2015 (has links)
In social work clients encounter arts in different contexts as in, for example, daytime activities, employment or job training. The participation in the activities may be voluntary or mandatory. This study examines how specialist crafts tutor work with creative activities in social work and the structures and attitudes necessary to provide conditions for change for the participant. The work places surveyed in this study all used creative methods involving visual arts such as paintings, ceramics, textile and sewing. The study´s purpose is to deepen the understanding of how visual creative activity is used to enable change for users in the field of social work. The activities evaluated in the study all use forms of visual creativity, which include various forms of creativity such as painting, sculpture, textile printing and sewing. The study was conducted based on a qualitative approach and the choice of method was unstructured focus groups with specialist crafts tutors. The method was extended during the research process by a telephone interview. In total, there were two focus group sessions and one telephone interview with a total of six informants. The theoretical framework from which creative activity is highlighted and analyzed is based on symbolic interactionism, where definition of the situation and sympathetic introspection are two key concepts. Other key concepts in the study are Axel Honneth's definition of recognition as well as Martin Buber's interpersonal encounters. The result of the study shows that specialist crafts tutors work contributes to change through structural and pedagogical approaches, which both are permeated by a process-oriented approach where the participant's own processes are central. In the final discussion the potential of creative activities for change within social work is discussed in relation to the theoretical concepts of interpersonal encounters, definition of the situation and symbolic violence to illuminate a choice between two approaches that social pedagogue faces.

Att tänka rätt är stort, att tänka högt är större : En Think-Aloud-studie av texttypens roll i översättningsprocessen / The Role of Text Types in the Translation Process : A Think-Aloud StudySannholm, Raphael January 2010 (has links)

/
The aim of the present study was to investigate whether different text types bring different focuses to the fore in the cognitive processes during translation. Four translator students were thus asked to translate one operative and one informative text while verbalizing their thoughts. The verbalizations were recorded and later transcribed into so called think-aloud protocols (TAPs). The analysis of the TAPs showed that the participants focused on similar aspects regardless of the source text, which indicates that the text type did not have any significant effect on the translation process in the study at hand.

Improving Business Processes using Process-oriented Data WarehouseShahzad, Muhammad Khurram January 2012 (has links)
The Business Process Management (BPM) lifecycle consists of four phases: design and analysis, configuration, enactment, and evaluation - also known as performance analysis and improvement. Performance analysis and improvement of business processes, one of the core phases in the BPM life cycle, is becoming on top of the agenda for many enterprises. An emerging approach to that is to use the business intelligence approaches that attempt to facilitate the analytical capabilities of business process management systems by implementing process-oriented data warehouse and mining techniques. However, little work has been has done on developing core methods and tools for performance analysis and improvement of business processes. In particular, adequate methods, clearly defined steps or instructions that can guide process managers for analyzing and improving processes using process warehouse (PW) are not available. In the absence of such methods, guidelines or clearly defined steps, important steps may be ignored and credible improvements steps cannot be taken. This research addresses the described limitations by developing a method for performance analysis and improvement of business processes. The key feature of the developed method is, it employs business-orientation in the design and utilization of a PW. The method is composed of three steps, building goal-structure, integrating goal-structure with PW, and analyzing and improving business processes. During the first step, a set of top-level performance goals are identified for the process of interest. Subsequently, the identified goals are decomposed to generate a goal-structure that is aligned with the functional decomposition of the process of interest. The second step describes a technique for integrating the generated goal-structure with PW. The third step describes, a performance estimation model, a decision model and a step by step approach that focuses on utilizing PW for analysis and improvement of business processes. In order to facilitate the use of the proposed method a prototype is developed. The prototype offers a graphical user interface for defining goal structure, integrating goals with PW, and goal-based navigation of PW. In order to evaluate the proposed method, we first develop an evaluation framework and subsequently use it for the evaluation of the proposed method. The framework consists of three components, each representing a type of evaluation. The components are, methodological-structure evaluation, performance-based evaluation and perception-based evaluation. The results of the evaluation show partial support for the methodological structure. However, the results of performance and perception evaluation show promising results of the proposed method. /
QC 20121217
