This diploma thesis is concerned with the analysis of economic growth in the Czech Republic since its origin in 1993 till 2009, aimed at the determination of strengths and weaknesses of the economic growth. According to the findings, the diploma thesis will afford several recommendations for the economic policy. The diploma thesis is divided into the theoretical and analytical part. The theory brings some economist's view of the economic growth questions. It mentions the transformation period of the Czechoslovakia centrally planned economy into the market economy. The analysis sets up the data in order to determine the Czech economic growth strengths and weaknesses with the help of demand, supply and resource analysis, the prognosis made by significant institutions and the international comparison for which the Slovak and European Union economics are used. At the end of the diploma thesis there are these findings used to conceive the economic policies arrangements.

VYUŽITÍ PORTÁLOVÝCH TECHNOLOGIÍ V BI PROJEKTECH / THE USE OF PORTAL TECHNOLOGIES IN BI PROJECTS

In current BI projects, the main emphasis is not put on the process of working with data anymore. The main focus is on working with information -- on technologies and applications that enable to put the data into context and that make possible for the users to get access to information which they use during a decision process. The theme of the thesis is the analysis of possible ways the portal technologies that are incorporated in portal products can be used for working with information from BI systems. The aim of the thesis is to analyze the possibilities of enterprise portal from the viewpoint of its usefulness as a part of company's BI solution. Another objective is to evaluate the situation of the portal products market and to analyze the potentialities of the Microsoft Sharepoint 2010 portal product. The thesis is divided into two logical parts. The first part contains definitions of the terms connected to BI and enterprise portals. It also deals with general evaluation of the potentialities of portal technologies for BI and with evaluation of the portal products market situation. The second part focuses on Sharepoint 2010 -- the latest portal product from Microsoft. This part contains Sharepoint 2010 functionality evaluation considering the individual versions of this product. Further, the position of Sharepoint 2010 in Microsoft's current BI strategy is analyzed. The potentialities of the product as a part of Microsoft BI solution are evaluated. A company that considers buying a portal product can use the thesis as a source of general information about portal technologies and their usefulness in a company's BI. The thesis also offers up-to-date information about the current situation of the portal products' market. If the company considers buying Sharepoint 2010 portal product, the thesis is a source of detailed information which can contribute to a quick and high-quality decision on the suitability and availability of this solution.

This thesis analyzes the products of Ford Motor Company s.r.o. which is a company operating on the Czech car market. The work is based on the theoretical knowledge described in the first part. The first part is followed by a practical section, in which I first describe the current market situation in the automotive industry in Czech Republic. Further I characterize the company Ford Motor Company s.r.o. itself, then I describe the most important car models and related market segments. Later in the practical part I analyze one model Ford Focus in terms of price and market ability over the competition, net book value, distribution and communication. The final section summarizes the information obtained and gives some recommendations that the company could use in the future to improve the position of this model.

Tourist product proposal is the main topic of this thesis. Several tourism products are presented and those should aim at senior citizens tourism and cultural tourists. The theoretical part of this thesis contains definition of fundamental termsand market research through questionnaire survey, which aims to characterize the structure of the company and obtains from its customers their designs products. Afterwards the results of survey will be interpreted. At the end of the thesis, in cooperation with the management of the company, the effects of modifications on financial indicators will be analyzed to define if the modification is the desired effect .Analyze the effects of modifications is the main objectives of this thesis.

The aim of this thesis is to propose a design and implementation of a new product in the field of parcel services in the Czech Post and propose its communication strategy. The basis for correct and efficient product design theme consists of description of the main postal market aspects and principles in the Czech Republic and detailed monitoring and analysis of domestic and global competition and customer environment. This, together with a summary of the basic theoretical approaches to the field of marketing and commercial communication forms the basis for designing a communication strategy. Results of this work confirmed that the proposed new product "Předplacené balíkové obaly" is a promising service that could help the Czech Post in the growing competitiveness in the field of express parcel delivery. Succes of its implementation will largely depend on the ability of the Czech Post effectively inform customers. Communication campaign, however, must reflex and develop the previous link of the "Great Parcel Revolution ".

This thesis evaluates the convergence within the European Union, focusing on the old Member States compared to the new ones. The theoretical part deals with the background of convergence and other theories explaining economic growth. The following section assesses the macroeconomic indicators work within the community and an important determinant of economic performance of individual countries, as measured by GDP per capita in purchasing power parity, and the HDI index. The analytical part of the thesis examines the conditional convergence or divergence of each block based on the method Barone Sala i Martin, using regression analysis. This work also examines the coefficient of variation, sigma and beta convergence of the various blocks. Finally, evaluate the level and rate of convergence of the Czech and Slovak Republic at NUTS level 3

Each czech crown is important for the budget of every household, particularly in the times of crisis. Saving can be achieved by selecting an appropriate insurance product, which is also the concern of this thesis. Because there exists a plenty of insurance companies on the czech market and majority of them offers several insurance products for each kind of insurance, it is not simple to choose the optimal product. On top of that, these insurance products differ not only in their price, but in various properties and additional insurance as well, which makes the task even more difficult. The most suitable insurance product can be found with multiple-criteria decision making, that was amended by the demand function in this thesis. The goal of the demand function is to advise those interested in the insurance whether they should or should not be insured under given circumstances. The thesis is designed so that it could be used for decisions of anybody interested in insurance on any insurance product.
