Considerando que a construção civil é responsável por significativa quantidade das emissões de poluentes na atmosfera e danos gerais causados ao meio ambiente, esta dissertação se concentra nos elementos da construção sustentável, focando nos requisitos dos selos de certificações ambientais presentes no Brasil. O objetivo deste trabalho é definir diretrizes para projetos sustentáveis, baseando-se nas categorias e critérios de avaliação ambiental dos selos mais utilizados no Brasil: LEED, AQUA e Selo Casa Azul, considerando a contribuição para os quatro sistemas de suporte à vida na Terra, são eles: Atmosfera, Água, Solo e Seres Vivos. Além disso, uma breve análise das práticas do mercado nos permite traçar o panorama da construção enquanto sustentável. O método utilizado se baseia numa revisão bibliográfica sobre sustentabilidade e seus sistemas de avaliação no ambiente construído no primeiro momento. O desenvolvimento da pesquisa tem como base metodológica os fundamentos da Design Science Research, como forma de geração de conhecimento. É feita uma análise qualitativa das certificações citadas a fim de sintetizá-las em diretrizes. Como resultado, as diretrizes geradas são contrastadas com as práticas de mercado, permitindo-nos quantificar o nível da sustentabilidade no nosso ambiente construído. Esta dissertação contribui para o aprimoramento da gestão sustentável do ambiente construído, assim como para a conscientização da urgente necessidade da sustentabilidade neste meio. / Sustainable development, despite being recurring theme in academic, scientific and political meetings, walks slowly in regard to the conditions of the planet Earth. Whereas the construction industry is responsible for a significant amount of pollutant emissions in the atmosphere and general damage to the environment, this dissertation concentrates on elements of sustainable construction, focusing on the requirements of environmental certifications in Brazil. The main objective of this work is to define guidelines for sustainable projects, based on the environmental assessment categories and criteria of the most used seals in Brazil: LEED, AQUA and Selo Casa Azul, considering the contribution to the four life support systems on Earth, which are: Atmosphere, Water, Soil and Living Beings. In addition, a brief analysis of market practices allows us to map the landscape of construction as sustainable. The method used is based on a literature review on sustainability and its evaluation systems in the environment built at the first moment. The development of the research is based on the foundations of Design Science Research as a way of generating knowledge. A qualitative analysis of the certifications is made to synthesize them in guidelines. As a result, the guidelines generated are contrasted with market practices, allowing us to quantify the level of sustainability in our built environment. This dissertation contributes to the improvement of the sustainable management of the built environment, as well as to the awareness of the urgent need of sustainability in it.

Erfarenhetsåterföring i projekt inom LKAB Södra samt kommunikation gällande förändringar uppkomna till följd av projekt / Knowledge management in projects within LKAB Southern Division and communication

Syftet med detta examensarbete var att, med hjälp av kunskap och färdigheter som förvärvats under utbildningens gång samt nyförvärvad kunskap, utveckla och förbättra två tidigare identifierade förbättringsområden hos LKAB. För att säkerställa att syftet uppfylldes användes frågeställningar gällande hur organisationens erfarenhetsåterföring skulle kunna förbättras samt hur deras kommunikation till medarbetare som påverkats, eller kommer att påverkas, av förändringar till följd av projekt kan förbättras. När arbetet påbörjades saknades ett strukturerat arbetssätt för erfarenhetsåterföring i organisationen samt riktlinjer för hur kommunikationen till medarbetare berörda av förändringar skulle gå till. Detta ledde till att båda delarna var bristfälliga och hade stor förbättringspotential. Litteraturstudier utfördes med hjälp av redan erhållen kurslitteratur, bibliotek och databassökningar. För insamling av data användes semistrukturerade intervjuer med sex stycken subjektivt utvalda medarbetare inom organisationen. Insamlad data kartlades och kategoriserade sedan med hjälp av en matris. Resultatet visade att majoriteten av medarbetarna såg flera brister inom de två valda områdena och önskade förbättring. Den lilla erfarenhetsåterföring som var styrd, i form av slutrapporter, var mycket mager och sällan hjälpsam för andra samt mycket svår att hitta då det inte gick att söka efter slutrapporter med nyckelord. Medarbetarna hade många förslag på förbättringar, däribland en sökfunktion, mer struktur och speciella träffar endast för erfarenhetsåterföring. Gällande kommunikationen vid förändringar framkom att den varierar och medarbetarna veterligen fanns ingen kommunikationspolicy eller andra riktlinjer att följa vid denna typ av kommunikation. Samtliga medarbetare föredrog muntlig kommunikation vid förändringar som skulle komma att påverka deras dagliga arbete men vittnade om att det ofta kom information via intranätet Arena eller mail. Slutsatserna som drogs från detta var att, för att kunna förbättra dessa två områden behövdes strukturella förbättringar, ökad förankring hos medarbetarna och förståelse för de vinster som är möjliga att göra i och med att de införs. För att förbättra erfarenhetsåterföringen vid projektarbete måste slutrapporterna bli sökbara, erfarenhetsåterföringen måste ske löpande underprojektarbetet, slutrapporter måste överföras vid byte av arkiveringsstruktur, erfarenhetsåterföringens innehåll bör specificeras och innehålla såväl hårda som mjuka delar samt att värdet och nyttan av erfarenhetsåterföring måste förankras hos såväl medarbetare som ledning i organisationen och ses som en naturlig del av projektets leverans. För att förbättra kommunikationen vid förändringar uppkomna till följd av projekt måste en kommunikationspolicy upprättas och förankras hos medarbetarna, kommunikationsplanen i projekt skall grundas på en ordentlig intressentanalys, kommunikationen bör vara muntlig förökad förståelse hos mottagaren samt att kunskap om hur kommunikation blir ett kraftfullt verktyg måste erhållas. / The purpose of this degree project was to develop and improve two earlier identified areas within LKAB in which there was potential for improvement. Thiswas done by the use of earlier acquired and newly obtained knowledge. To ensure that the purpose of this degree project was fulfilled two questions was designed: “How can the organization’s knowledge management improve?” and “How can the organization’s communication to employees affected by changes resulting from projects improve”. When the degree project was initiated there was no structured way of work for knowledge management nor was there any guidelines concerning how this type of communication was to be executed. Literature studies were accomplished by the use of already obtained course literature, libraries and databases. Data was collected through semi-structured interviews with six subjectively selected employees within the organization. The collected data was mapped out and categorized with the use of a template. The results showed thatthe majority of the employees saw multiple flaws within the identified areas and wished for improvement. The tiny part of the knowledge management that was structured was the one within the final project reports. The shared knowledge within the project reports was very thin and not always helpful for others as well as hard to find due to the reports not being searchable by the use of key words. The employees had many suggestions regarding how the knowledge managementcould improve. These included adding a search function, more structure andspecial gatherings for sharing knowledge only. Regarding the communication surrounding changes resulting from projects it was said that it varies and as far asthe employees knew there was no policy or guidelines to follow. All employees preferred verbal communication when being informed about changes that would affect their daily work but also shared that information often came to them through their intranet Arena or e-mail. The conclusions drawn from this was that structural improvements was needed in both areas, improvements must be established amongst the employees and a better understanding for the profits made possibleby the implementation of these improvements must be acquired. To improve the knowledge management the final project reports must be searchable, knowledge must be documented continuously throughout the project, project reports must be transferred in the event of a change of archive structure, the contents mustspecified and include both hard and soft topics and lastly the avail of knowledge management must be established amongst the management as well as theemployees and seen as a natural part of the project delivery. To improve the communication to employees affected by changes resulting from projects a communication policy must be established, the communication plan within projects must be based on a thorough stakeholder analysis, the communication should be verbal and a deeper understanding regarding how communication becomes a powerful tool must be obtained.

Embora seja uma nova mídia, possui seu alicerce firmado junto às origens da civilização humana, tendo sofrido transformações morfológicas, técnicas e simbólicas até se estruturar no texto das telas eletrônicas. Representante de uma das maiores mudanças do mercado editorial, o livro digital é capaz de promover novas práticas e novos significados de leitura. Essa relação do suporte eletrônico com as práticas de leitura no contexto das editoras mostrou-se como um foco de pesquisa promissor para a investigação no design, que sempre acompanhou as transformações do livro ao longo da história. Entende-se que a presença do livro digital cria novas relações entre leitores, editores e autores, e, assim, a demanda pela inovação exige do design uma abordagem estratégica. O objetivo deste trabalho é a definição de diretrizes projetuais de sistemas produto-serviço para o livro digital, visando o reposicionamento das editoras no mercado sob a perspectiva do design estratégico. Para chegar a tais resultados, este estudo investiga e classifica as práticas dos leitores em diferentes plataformas eletrônicas, utilizando-se da técnica de diários de leitura. Também investiga as estratégias para o livro digital vigentes no mercado, através de entrevistas com a editora Companhia das Letras. Ainda propõe a estruturação de cenários de inovação para o livro digital por meio de um workshop colaborativo. Os cenários projetados consideram um futuro predominantemente digital, no qual os livros promovem diferentes experiências de leitura. Com as análises das informações, os principais resultados compreendidos são expressos na forma de diretrizes de projeto, que apontam para uma maior simplificação e flexibilização das configurações de apresentação dos livros em múltiplas plataformas, para a mudança das narrativas com foco principal nos hiperlinks, para o acesso da tecnologia aos cinco sentidos humanos e para a transformação da leitura em uma atividade social e colaborativa. / It is observed, in the context of an on-line society, the incipience of the digital book, made possible by technological advances that shaped the contemporary material culture. Although this is considered a new media, it has its roots deep on the origins of the human civilization, going through technical, symbolic and morphologic changes until it was structured into text on electronic screens. A representative of one of the biggest changes in the editorial market, the digital book is capable of promoting new practices and new meanings to reading. The relation between the electronic devices with the reading practices in the context of publishing houses has shown itself a promising investigative research focus in design, which has always followed the transformations in books throughout history. It is understood that the presence of the digital book creates new relationships between readers, publishing houses, and authors, thus the demand for innovation requires a strategic approach from design. The goal of this research is the setting up of project guidelines for product-service systems to the digital book media, aiming at the repositioning of publishing companies in the market under the perspective of strategic design. To get to such results, this study investigates and classifies the reader’s practices in different electronic platforms, using the reading diaries technique. This study also investigates the digital book strategies already used by publishing companies, through a couple of interviews with the publishing company Companhia das Letras. Finally, this study offers a glimpse of innovative scenarios for the digital book through a collaborative workshop. The projected scenarios analyze a predominantly digital future, in which books are going to promote different reading experiences. Through the analysis of the information, the main result were expressed in the structure of project guidelines, which point to simpler and more flexible sets of appearance of digital books in multiple platforms, changing from narratives with focus in hyperlink to one with access of technology to the five human senses and to the transformation of reading into a social and collaborative activity.

Considerando os aspectos comunicacionais da embalagem, entende-se que ela é integrada à identidade de um produto e influencia na decisão de compra dos indivíduos. O designer pode explorar estrategicamente os significados simbólicos para o desenvolvimento de representações gráficas tanto no nível informacional quanto no nível simbólico. Como objetivo geral deste trabalho, busca-se investigar como o Design Estratégico pode potencializar os efeitos de sentido a partir das percepções sobre a sustentabilidade das embalagens dos produtos da Natura Ekos. Para tanto, estabelecem-se como objetivos específicos: a) investigar e problematizar o Design Estratégico na perspectiva da sustentabilidade; b) explicitar as estratégias de design emitidas pela Natura nas embalagens da linha de produtos Natura Ekos; c) analisar as embalagens de cosméticos Natura Ekos de castanha e buriti a partir da teoria da significação baseada em Barthes e Bourdieu; d) propor diretrizes projetuais para o desenvolvimento de embalagens sustentáveis que potencializem os efeitos de sentido. Como método, utilizando-se de pesquisa exploratória, investigam-se as percepções dos indivíduos com base nos grupos focais de usuários de produtos Natura Ekos, não usuários de produtos Natura Ekos, designers e especialistas na área ambiental ou social. Como resultados, apresentam-se as percepções estratificadas dos participantes dos grupos focais com base na teoria da significação e do Design Estratégico, operando na complexidade das representações de sustentabilidade das embalagens, no nível metalinguístico como ponto de integração entre o metaprojeto, a sustentabilidade e a significação. A partir dos resultados da pesquisa, apontam-se cinco diretrizes projetuais para a criação de sistemas produto-serviço para potencializar os efeitos de sentido das representações gráficas que remetem à sustentabilidade: 1) criando a sustentabilidade; 2) gerando as estratégias de sustentabilidade; 3) reconhecendo as informações; 4) reconhecendo os materiais; 5) repensando as formas do design. / The packaging is a media device that serves as a channel of message transmission for different social strata in daily life and can contribute for the learning of a more sustainable consumption culture, intensifying through design their various purposes, among them: contain, protect and identify the product. Considering the communicational aspects of the packaging, it is understood that it is integrated into a product’s identity and it influences in the individuals’ purchase decision. The designer can strategically explore the symbolic meanings to the development of graphic representations both in informational level as in the symbolic level. As a general objective of this work, it is sought to investigate how Strategic Design may potentiate the effects of meaning from the perceptions about the sustainability of the packaging of the Natura Ekos products. For this, it is established as specific objectives: a) investigate and discuss the Strategic Design from the sustainability perspective; b) explicit the design strategies issued by Natura on the packaging of Natura Ekos line of products; c) analyze the cosmetic packaging of Natura Ekos chestnut and buriti from the signification theory based on Barthes and Bourdieu; d) propose project guidelines to the development of sustainable packaging that enhance the effects of meaning. As a method, using exploratory research, it is investigated the individuals’ perceptions based in the focus groups of users of Natura Ekos products, non-users of Natura Ekos products, designers, and experts in environmental and social area. As results, it is presented the perceptions that were stratified from the focus groups’ participants based in the signification theory and in the Strategic Design, operating in the complexity of sustainability representations in the packaging, in the metalinguistic level as integration point between the metaproject, sustainability and signification. From research results, it is pointed five project guidelines for creating product-service systems to enhance the sense effects of graphic representations that relate to sustainability: 1) creating the sustainability; 2) generating the sustainability strategies; 3) recognizing the information; 4) recognizing the materials; 5) rethinking design forms.
