以IEARN為主之專題導向式跨國互動EFL學習:以兩個國中班級為例之個案研究 / IEARN as Project-based Telecommunication Activities for EFL Learning: A Case Study on Two Junior High Classrooms

Lin, Shu Yuan Unknown Date (has links)
The purpose of this research is to understand the challenge of project-based telecommunication activities through the IEARN for EFL learning. The learning methods and teaching strategies of project-based learning (PBL) conform to the rationale of Grade 1-9 Curriculum reform. However, literature showed that very few EFL teachers became involved in PBL with information technology for instruction. This research, conducted as a case study in the qualitative methodology, describes how two junior high school English teachers and their homeroom students implemented PBL through international network and how they developed cross-culture awareness in half and two years. It was found that successful EFL learning infused with information technology relied much more on pedagogy, class management and teacher-student collaboration than on teacher's computer skills. Based on the challenges and implement revealed in the process of PBL through telecommunication activities, the researcher gave suggestions to teachers, school administrators, educational authority and community for further improvement. The instructional innovation not only met educational reform standards but also developed EFL students' holistic learning in a lifelong fashion.

Chen, Chia Chi Unknown Date (has links)
With the rapid development of the Internet, how to apply Internet resources to support e-learning is becoming a more and more important issue in the e-learning field. Therefore, the study mainly focuses on assessing the differences of learning processes and performance of learners who respectively use the digital resources from Taiwan libraries’ history digital library (structured digital resources) and Google search engine (open ended and unstructured digital resources) to perform problem solving learning for a same target subject via the project-based learning mode. The study aims at exploring the advantages and characters of using digital archives to support project-based learning and proposing conclusions and suggestions that are helpful to using digital archives to support e-learning. The study adopted the quasi-experimental design method to separate all participators into the experimental and control groups in order to evaluate the differences of learning processes and performance of learners who respectively use different digital resources to perform project-based learning processes. The statistics analysis scheme was employed to evaluate the learning performance of learners who perform project-based learning supported by different digital resources based on learning processes, project-based learning outcomes, and questionnaire investigation. Based on the research outcomes, the study confirms the value of digital archives in terms of supporting the project-based learning, and further indicates the role-playing of digital archives in supporting e-learning. The study obtains the following conclusions: 1. The learning performance of the experimental group learners who perform project-based learning processes supported by digital archive resources is superior to the control group learners who perform project-based learning processes supported by search engine resources; 2. The learning satisfactory degree of the experimental group learners who perform project-based learning processes supported by digital archive resources surpasses the control group learners who perform project-based learning processes supported by search engine resources; 3. Compared to the search engine resources, the digital archive resources obviously provide benefit in the action procedure in the proposed project-based learning mode with three learning procedures; 4. Compared to Google search engine resources, performing project-based learning supported by digital archive resources should enhance search performance to promote the user’s willingness while using digital archive to support e-learning.

Improving Grade 10 accounting teachers' competencies in the Ekurhuleni District of the Gauteng Province

Letshwene, M. J. (M. Jacobine), 1976- 10 1900 (has links)
The aim of the study was to investigate strategies that could be used to equip Grade 10 teachers to teach accounting effectively. The aim was addressed by conducting the relevant literature survey and an empirical investigation. A qualitative approach which was modeled on the interpretive perspective was used to explore challenges faced by accounting teachers and learners. Five schools were selected in the Johannesburg Ekurhuleni District. Here, three HODs and two Grade 10 teachers were interviewed and observed while teaching. Strong and weak Grade 10 learners from each school were interviewed. The data was analysed and findings presented. The findings revealed that Grades 8 and 9 lack accounting exposure due to 40% weighting on financial literacy on the syllabus which then causes problems in Grade 10 from both the teaching and learning perspectives. The main recommendations arising from this study are that the Department of Education must relook at the syllabus and involve teachers in the planning of the curriculum in order to bridge the gap between the syllabuses. Accounting teachers should use variety of learning and teaching strategies, and create a supportive effective classroom environment in order to increase the learner’s interest. / Further Teacher Education / M. [en] CONCEPTION AND MODELING OF EDUCATIONAL OBJECTS FOR UNDERSTANDING OF MOTORCYCLES/BICYCLES DYNAMICS IN ENGINEERING DESIGN / [pt] CONCEPÇÃO E MODELAGEM DE OBJETOS EDUCACIONAIS PARA COMPREENSÃO DA DINÂMICA DE MOTOCICLETAS/BICICLETAS EM PROJETOS DE ENGENHARIA

GUILHERME NOBREGA MARTINS 05 June 2019 (has links)
[en] The conception and modeling of educational objects for understanding of motorcycles/bicycles dynamics in engineering design have in this thesis two general objectives: understanding the dynamics of two wheels vehicles of gage zero and resenting the solution for the incompatibility problem, even if partial, of the engineering graduate profile when referred to the profile desired by the job market. To accomplish with the first goal, this work develops the modeling of bicycles and motorcycles using the Bond Graphs and Power Flow techniques, to then describe education apparatuses developed in LDSM (Mechatronic Systems Development Laboratory of PUC-Rio) designed to aid in the understanding of those vehicles. In order to answer the question that involves the second general objective, this work presents a brief study on active learning and then, through the analysis of the mechanical and mechatronics engineering courses pedagogical projects, proposes a solution for engineers training using the active learning methodology, the so called PBL. The author uses the knowledge obtained in achieving the first objective to propose the use of projects created around the considered vehicles as tools to the teaching/learning process. Through bibliographical researches and through comparison of reach and inclusion among, on one hand, the current curricular organization and, on the other hand, that one proposed using active learning methodology, the author shows that this last one fulfills satisfactorily the rigor of the engineer s technical formation. Through bibliographical researches and experimentation in class, he verifies that the new curricular organization can go further and also covers the competences not linked to the technical formation that the current organization is not able to cover satisfactorily, as social- environmental awareness and professional ethics, among others. Finally, the work indicates new paths to follow, both in the modeling of such vehicles, as in the study and use of the researched methodology.

A conceptual model for collaborative e-learning based on the execution of projects.

Luisa Aleyda Garcia González 20 December 2005 (has links)
Engineering Education in e-learning environments demands the implementation of practical methods that facilitates learning of contents of the type: procedures and attitudes by means of action, of the interaction among participants and the integration of knowledge of different fields. This learning can only be effective in significant contexts and from specific situations that are stimulated by using the project method. The effectiveness of this method is reached when used of preference in groups; in such a way that a participant learns with another by sharing resources and knowledge and acquiring or exercising a set of personal abilities, which are necessary for the professional work of the engineer. In spite of the well-recognized importance of the project method for collaborative e-learning, no comprehensive guidelines have yet been set out for distance education. This scenario represented the main motivation to propose a conceptual Model for Collaborative e-Learning Based on the execution of Web supported Projects (MAC-BP). This model is organized in three sub models related among them representing the creation, the execution, and the support of the collaborative instructional activities used in Engineering Teaching. One model is devoted to plan the activities and responsibilities of the specialist, the person in charge of the elaboration of contents and planning the activities of the group based on the project method. The second is a collaborative model aiming to formalize the coordination of the interactions among the members of the group, through a finite automaton. The last model is conceived as a supporting environment to the collaborative instructional activities aiming to integrate the functionalities required by CSCL (Computer Supported Cooperative Learning) environments, some of them already existing, however highly scattered among the available systems for supporting collaboration. On the other hand, the conception of instructional activities for groups is a time-consuming task and constitutes a laborious process. In general, the creation of the involved resources in a specific learning action is intimately related to the format of the tool used for its creation and management, making difficult to reuse the educational elements in new applications. This is a additional motivation to intend to make some contribution to this field. In this work, the shareable elements of collaborative learning (objects and actions) involved in the model MAC-BP are identified. In addition, a set of technical specifications is suggested for the elaboration and use of these elements, according to ADL-SCORM and IMS-LD specifications previously reported for the EAD model focused on individual learning. In summary, the two proposals showed in this work intend to contribute to the efforts of standardization of resources and procedures in order to support the teaching-learning process by means of electronic systems conceived to support the collaborative learning in the investigation of CSCL systems. These proposals indicate ways to innovate the pedagogical process, and constitute guides for instructors to develop new applications of project-based collaborative learning and the elaboration of the involved instructional elements. In addition, the proposals give a solution to the coordination of group collaborative interactions during the execution of projects and represent a support to collaborative learning in Engineering.

Vom Innovationsimpuls zum Markteintritt. Theorie, Praxis, Methoden

27 November 2014 (has links) (PDF)
