My dissertation work deals with the project method in civics lessons. The target of this work was to find a place of this method in teaching civics at primary school. The work is divided into two parts. In the first part I focused on the theoretical ground of the project method, its historical development and contemporary conceptions while I even tried to outline the position of civics at primary school. In the second part of the work I deal with possibilities how to organize curriculum of civics according to the project method. Proposals of own projects and own realization of one of the selected project are stated in this part.

Keywords: Regional history, project methods, baroque and baroque culture Abstract: The thesis deals primarily with the baroque era of Lysá nad Labem regional history and its application in the educational project at the secondary level of a primary school. The first part of the Diploma thesis contains a short overview of regional literature concerning Lysá as well as pedagogic literature suitable for project training. There is an overall characteristic of the Baroque era in the Czech lands with the focus on how it was expressed in art, religion and thinking of people back then and how it influenced the landscape formation. The emphasis is placed on the Baroque era of Lysá nad Labem. Its history is being described along with the history of the most influential family in the area the Sporcks. All of the baroque monuments in the town and its surroundings are described in order for the theoretical part to be complete and with respect to their possible application in the project training. I have also explored the significance of regional history and project training. Now turning to the practical part of the Diploma thesis. The thesis is aimed at two different teaching methods, which are compared not only from the viewpoint of their positives and negatives, but also their effectiveness is valuated. One thematic unit from the history curriculum at lower-secondary school is chosen and two different methods are applied, one is based on lecture method, the other one involves project teaching. The effectiveness of the methods is ascertained on the basis of applying these methods in two teaching classes of elementary school. The common thematic unit is Industrial Revolution. According to the number of points every pupil achieves in the didactical test, the class with project teaching turned out better, however the difference was not so prominent. Important is that the effectiveness of both methods cannot be measured based only on number of obtained points. For this reason the author uses another evaluation of methods based on the Bloom's Taxonomy of educational objectives. By analysing the pupil's answers it was ascertained, that the pupils using the project teaching achieved (apart from factual knowledge) also the procedural and conceptual knowledge, which was found in their answer formulations. This thesis introduces the three types of culture. The goal of this thesis is to determine the main dimensions of project culture and show how to improve organizational or project culture through a questionnaire survey. Last but not least, the next goal is to describe all the steps that follow after the evaluation of questionnaire. The first part discusses the sense of culture and the kinds of culture. The beginning is about the national culture. The following chapter deals with corporate culture and its main characteristics. In terms of the main goals of this thesis, the end of this part focuses on the list of methods of improving organizational culture and specifics of project culture, including its characteristics and dimensions. The second part concerns about the introduction of the company and project, where the survey took place, including identifying the main features of corporate culture and core values of that company. Next chapters deal with the structure and evaluation of the questionnaire and activities that follow after the evaluation.

The theme of the thesis is an analysis of processes 3 different projects that are implemented under the Cohesion Policy. Attention will be paid to the issue of project preparation, analysis of processes, which are essential components for the preparation of project applications, showing the most important methods and tools used in managing the process of design. The content of this thesis is the identification of possible critical moments, which can be an important factor influencing the success of the selection and implementation of individual projects. All the above components of the processes should be used to create applications for financial support from EU structural funds. A consistent process of preparing a project application is an condition for planned project to have a real chance to be selected from a number of other projects that are submitted within the announced calls. After a successful project assessment selected project receives financial support from European funds for its implementation.
