Pazos Alvarado, Mary Claudia, Rojas Pomahuali, Enma Dabida, Zúñiga Meza, Kelly Grizel 17 August 2020 (has links)

Huaroc Portocarrero, Jean Carlo 26 June 2017 (has links)

A place for learning: a phenomenology of geometry and material

Vernon, Mitzi Renee January 1986 (has links)
This work is comprised of two parts: The Inspiration and The Institution. The Inspiration concerns what originated the work—the conception of the idea. It lies within the realm of those things which are timeless. Therefore, it is what gives character to the building of the place or the institution. The inspiration is the beginning. The Institution is the formulation of the work--the "building" of the idea. It is a place crafted with the methods of its time. ln this sense, the institution is circumstantial, and therefore representing the end. However, in its completion there is the reflection of its beginning, its inspiration. What we call the beginning is often the end And to make an end is to make a beginning. The end is where we start from.¹ What inspires this work is the architecture of the ancient communities of the Anasazi. More specifically and fundamentally, the inspiration for this work lies in the phenomenon of geometry and material in these ruins. Further, it is seated in such ideas as concentricity or nestedness and the opening of a wall. These are the ideas which are timeless. This is the beginning and the end. What formulates the work is a school. As an institution of learning, it already constitutes fertile ground for teaching. Therefore, with architecture as the medium, the building can teach about the play of geometry and the use of material. The function of the school is purely circumstantial, and it has little to do with the inspiration. Still, the geometry and material of the place made are founded in the inspiration. Hence, the architecture will continue to be a place for learning regardless of the functions of its past or future. The aspiration of the work is the development of a work of architecture as a place which nurtures the position of learning and as an institution which becomes a revelation of its inspiration. / Master of Architecture

Mantari Araujo, William Samuel 17 April 2024 (has links)
Currently, one of the problems within the ombudsman's office is the limited followup, monitoring, and evaluation of the ombudsman's recommendations in various cases. Faced with this, the innovation project proposes to implement a management system through the agile Kanban methodology. Therefore, to carry out the investigation, official documents were used, in particular the "Follow-up report on women's rights defender recommendations for the period 2017-2021", as a source of data and interviews with officials and line managers. The salary limitations and the labor regime do not reinforce the necessary job stability in the organization. On the other hand, six (06) fundamental causes have been identified that generate this situation, these being: (i) salary limitations and the labor regime do not reinforce the necessary job stability in the organization, (ii) the estimate against the increase in responsibilities and attention areas, (iii) The lack of an effective follow-up system and an adequate technological and digital infrastructure that facilitates citizen attention and reinforces internal communication, (iv) There is a lack of improvement in the skills of government officials on follow-up, monitoring and evaluation, (v) The constant rotation of the administration in the supervised entities, (vi) The resistance on the part of certain institutions subject to supervision and adoption of the recommendations issued by the Ombudsman. Based on the problems and causes identified, a documentary review and a consultation with experts were carried out to build the prototype development process. This prototype consists of a system that divides the case management process in the ombudsman's office into different stages: recommendations, monitoring, follow-up, and evaluation. Each stage is further divided into sub-processes, represented on the Kanban board as "To be implemented", "Awaiting implementation", "In the process of implementation", "Implemented" and "Assessed". The management system based on the agile Kanban methodology is presented as a promising and relevant solution, since it offers a visual and agile tool that improves the organization, knowing the state of execution of interventions and activities, monitoring progress in cases that violate women's rights. By providing a clear visual representation of stages and sub-processes, the Kanban board makes it easy to identify pending actions at a glance, track ongoing interventions, and evaluate actions already implemented.

A Bountiful Harvest: Pueblo of Laguna College Graduates Assessment of Tribal Utilization of Subsidized Academic Capital

Graham, Joe L. January 2012 (has links)
The Pueblo of Laguna in New Mexico maintains a tribal scholarship program to assist students in their pursuit of higher education. This research was initiated to assess from the graduates' perspective how effectively the tribe utilized its subsidized academic capital. The purpose of the study was to identify obstacles, incentives, distractions, or alternative opportunities that Laguna college graduates encountered on their academic paths that influenced their perceptions about working for the tribe. Several challenges were identified that if addressed could profoundly benefit the tribe by increasing the retention of tribal graduates for the professional roles for which they were academically trained. A mixed methods research design was employed to examine why graduates educated with considerable assistance from their tribe were not working for their tribe in the capacity for which they earned degrees. Within this study, both quantitative and qualitative approaches were used to gather, report, and interpret the data. The combined use of a survey as the quantitative method and interviews as the qualitative method provided a balanced view of the perceptions of the Laguna graduates. An analysis of both sets of data indicated that several significant rifts existed between the arenas of tribal professional employment opportunities, college level academic attainment, and the existing secondary school system. Conversely, notions of tribal student loyalty and an intense desire to contribute to community were confirmed. Based on the findings, it was recommended that several critical decisions regarding the future of the Pueblo's higher education priorities be made. Further, it was recommended that the tribe increase their efforts to capitalize on the intrinsic community connectedness demonstrated by the Laguna graduates.

The Use of Faunal Remains for Identifying Shifts in Pit Structure Function in the Mesa Verde Region: a Case Study From Goodman Point

Winstead, Christy 08 1900 (has links)
The archaeofaunal remains left by the Ancestral Puebloan people of Goodman Point Unit provides a valuable, yet underutilized resource into pit structure function. This thesis explores temporal changes in pit structure use and evaluates if a final feast occurred during a kiva decommissioning. The results from zooarchaeological analyses of a pithouse and two great kivas suggest that changes in pit structures at Goodman Point mimic the regional trend toward specialization until late Pueblo III. Cross-cultural studies on feasts, southwest ethnographies and previous zooarchaeological work established methods for identifying a feast. The analysis of differences in faunal remains from a great kiva and multiple room block middens imply that the remains in the kiva were from a final feast prior to a decommissioning ceremony and were not fill. Spatially and temporally the great kiva appears to be a unique, specialized structure in the cultural development of the Goodman Point community.

A crise do Estado boliviano e a autonomia indígena / The Bolivian political crisis and the indigenous autonomy

Pannain, Rafaela Nunes 29 August 2014 (has links)
Para tanto, analiso os debates sobre as autonomias indígenas e a criação da autonomia guarani no município de Charagua / The last Bolivian political crisis and the important associated social mobilization, between the years of 2000 and 2005, rendered the boundaries of the institutional politics field fluid. Despite the rising of indigenous and peasants groups in 2006, the political crisis was not overcome. Since 2006, the long standing roles in Bolivian politics have changed: those who had been replaced in control of national political power now tried to disrupt institutional power; the social movements, whose actions worked to destabilize previous governments, now became the defenders of the new order. Once the political crisis of those years was overcome, the boundaries of the field were restructured and new spaces for the participation of indigenous actors were created. The redefinition of the institutional politics field resulted in the creation of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, where different forms of social and political organization that operate in Bolivia are given recognition in the redefinition of the state. This work also aims to shed light on how the reorganization of the institutional politics field has influenced the announced state restructure. With this purpose, I analyse the debates concerning the indigenous autonomies and the experience of the Guarani autonomy in Charagua
