Knowledge and practices of supervisors on the performance management and development system at a primary health care facilities in the Greater Tzaneen Sub-district, Limpopo ProvinceMashego, Rosemary Hlulekle January 2016 (has links)
Thesis (MPH.) -- University of Limpopo, 2016. / The South African government has introduced PMDS as a tool to monitor and manage the performances of departments, institutions, teams and individuals in order to improve service delivery, and to counteract the legacy of poor performance. In order for the government to achieve this goal, PMDS implementers must be equipped with adequate knowledge and skills which will enable them to implement the system correctly, in compliance with the standards and procedures laid down in the government PMDS policy. The aim of the study was to determine the knowledge and practices of PMDS of supervisors who are tasked with the responsibility to supervise their subordinates.
Methods
A cross sectional descriptive quantitative study was carried out in the Greater Tzaneen Primary Health Care facilities. A total of 117 participants comprising of professional nurses, operational managers and assistant managers completed the questionnaires. These comprised largely of close-ended questions and some open- ended questions. Analysis of data was done using statistical software, SPSS 22.0 version and results were interpreted.
Results
Generally all the respondents had average (65.8%) understanding of the PMDS processes including the purpose and their roles as supervisors. However, a gap exists between the theoretical knowledge and the actual ability to practise PMDS which was found to be around 52%. There are areas of weakness that still need attention: unavailability of PMDS guidelines, lack of training of both supervisors and employees. Lastly, the nature of challenges which the respondents reported regarding PMDS implementation signifies that there might be underlying problems with PMDS which were not covered by this study, and these challenges, by far outweigh their confident knowledge and ability to practise PMDS.
v
Conclusion
To improve the knowledge and ability to supervise PMDS, the following recommendations were brought forth: proper induction of all PMDS supervisors and periodic in-service training, PMDS policy manuals as a source of reference to be made available in the facility and all supervisors to be orientated how to use them.

Comparison of Video and Audio Rating Modalities for Assessment of Provider Fidelity to a Family-Centered, Evidence-Based ProgramJanuary 2019 (has links)
abstract: The current study assessed whether the interrater reliability and predictive validity of fidelity ratings differed significantly across the modalities of audio and video recordings. As empirically supported programs are moving to scale, attention to fidelity, the extent to which a program is delivered as intended, is essential because high fidelity is needed for positive program effects. Consequently, an important issue for prevention science is the development of feasible and acceptable methods for assessing fidelity. Currently, fidelity monitoring is rarely practiced, as the typical way of measuring fidelity, which uses video of sessions, is expensive, time-consuming, and intrusive. Audio recording has multiple advantages over video recording: 1) it is less intrusive; 2) equipment is less expensive; 3) recording procedures are simpler; 4) files are smaller so it takes less time to upload data and storage is less expensive; 5) recordings contain less identifying information; and 6) both clients and providers may be more willing to have sensitive interactions recorded with audio only. For these reasons, the use of audio recording may facilitate the monitoring of fidelity and increase the acceptability of both the intervention and implementation models, which may serve to broaden the scope of the families reached and improve the quality of the services provided. The current study compared the reliability and validity of fidelity ratings across audio and video rating modalities using 77 feedback sessions drawn from a larger randomized controlled trial of the Family Check-Up (FCU). Coders rated fidelity and caregiver in-session engagement at the age 2 feedback session. The composite fidelity and caregiver engagement scores were tested using path analysis to examine whether they predicted parenting behavior at age 3. Twenty percent of the sessions were double coded to assess interrater reliability. The interrater reliability and predictive validity of fidelity scores and caregiver engagement did not significantly differ across rating modality. However, caution must be used in interpreting these results because the interrater reliabilities in both conditions were low. Possible explanations for the low reliability, limitations of the current study, and directions for future research are discussed. / Dissertation/Thesis / Doctoral Dissertation Psychology 2019

Aplikace fuzzy logiky pro vyhodnocení dodavatelů firmy / The Application of Fuzzy Logic for Rating of Suppliers for the FirmZábranská, Barbora January 2021 (has links)
This Master’s thesis presents a design of models which are intended for evaluation of Braintrast’s suppliers. Based on the evaluation, there is selected the most optimal supplier according to parameters. The model uses fuzzy logic theory to support decision making. The solution is designed in programs MATLAB and MS Excel.

Is there a Significant Relationship Between Teacher Credibility and Teacher Effectiveness?Madsen, Blake D. 01 January 1982 (has links)
This thesis was designed to determine if a significant relationship exists between credibility and effectiveness in seminary teachers.Teacher credibility was determined by an adaptation of McCroskey's semantic differential scales used for measuring teacher credibility. Teacher effectiveness was determined by a matching scripture test.Chi square tests produced significant relationships between teacher credibility and the following: student religiosity, teacher influence and class attitude. The tests also produced significant relationships between teacher effectiveness and these variables: sex, student religiosity, teacher influence and class attitude. These relationships largely were what one would expect. The chi square test also produced a significant relationship between teacher credibility and teacher effectiveness. Thus the major expectation of the thesis was supported by the data: more credible seminary teachers are more effective.

The formulation of a design to evaluate the effects of training on banksPratt, Alison 01 January 1981 (has links)
A well-run business combines motivated, trained employees with the right work environment to produce the greatest results at the least cost. When the results (from a product or service) do not exceed costs by a sufficient margin, at least one part of the system is not operating efficiently. This problem is caused by a production deficiency, which occurs when actual performance does not match the desired performance (Herem, 1979). In order to determine the root of this problem, two areas must be examined. These areas are (a) the nature of the work environment and its organizational structure, which may prevent performance in spite of employee effort, and (b) the employees themselves who may lack either the motivation or the skills to perform the job. Intervention can be designed for either or both of these areas to ameliorate the production deficiency. After implementation, the results of such interventions must be evaluated for their effectiveness. This paper will review the processes of deficiency assessment, intervention, and program evaluation as they might be found in a business or service setting.

This master’s thesis deals with design of models which allows to evaluate different plastic windows suppliers. Suggested model uses fuzzy logic to evaluate suppliers and is used as a support for decision-making. With small modifications, the model can be also used repeatedly. The solution itself is designed by MATLAB and MS Excel programs.

Větrání a teplovzdušné vytápění autoservisu / Ventilation and warm air heating of service stationBašta, Milan January 2009 (has links)
This diploma thesis is focused on the design project of ventilation and warm air heating of a service station. The thesis starts with the introduction into this issue and the layout of the service station is presented here. Afterwards, calculations of the heat penetration coefficient, heat losses and heat load, as well as the amount of fresh air are presented here. Furthermore, the amount of supply air is assigned in this part. Consequently, a design project of ventilation and air heating is set up based on these calculations. The design project also includes the choice, dimensioning of local exhausting, a slot diffuser and of air duct paths. Moreover, pressure losses are calculated and the choice of an ventilation and heating unit is made. A design documentation with material specifications is also part of this diploma thesis.
