Syftet med denna studie är att bidra med kunskap om vårdnadshavares syn på läsläxor isvenskämnet i årskurs 1–3. För att uppnå studiens syfte har två frågeställningar framställts. Den första frågeställningen är vad vårdnadshavare tror att syftet med läsläxan är. Den andra frågeställningen är hur vårdnadshavare upplever genomförandet av läsläxan. Det empiriska materialet samlades in med en kvantitativ metod genom en enkätundersökning som vårdnadshavare på två olika skolor och i fyra olika klasser har fått delta i, samt med en kvalitativ metod med semistrukturerade intervjuer med elva vårdnadshavare. Respondenterna valdes ut genom ett bekvämlighetsurval, ett snöbollsurval och ett målinriktat urval för att kunna besvara frågeställningarna och uppnå studiens syfte. Studiens teoretiska utgångspunkt är det sociokulturella perspektivet, där lärandet sker i samspel med andra. Resultatet i studien visar att vårdnadshavare har olika syn på läsläxan. Dock upplever majoriteten att läsläxan saknar variation både till innehåll och form. Studiens slutsats är att vårdnadshavare i denna studie ser läsläxans genomförande som konflikt fylld och svår att få in i vardagen. Däremot ser vårdnadshavare att läsläxan kan bidra med inblick i barnens läsutveckling. / The purpose of this study is to contribute knowledge about guardians` perspectives on homework in the Swedish subject in Primary Years 1–3. The study has two main questions to achieve the purpose of this study: What do the guardians believe to be the purpose of the reading homework and how do the guardians perceive the implementation of the reading homework? The empirical data were collected using a quantitative method through a survey in which guardians from two different schools and four different classes participated, as well as with a qualitative method through semi-structured interviews with eleven guardians. The respondents were selected through a convenience selection in addition with a snowball selection and a targeted selection to be able to achieve the purpose of the study, answering the two main questions. The theoretical framework of the study is the sociocultural perspective, where learning occurs in interaction with others. The results of the study show that guardians have different views on the reading homework, however the majority feel that the reading homework lacks variety in both content and form. The study´s conclusion is that guardians in this study see the implementation of the reading homework as filled with conflicts and difficult to integrate into everyday life. However, guardians also see that the reading homework can contribute with insight into the children´s reading development.
