It Takes Water and Energy in a Block

Hilmersson, Alvin, Norén, Fanny, Ullén, Alexander, Wiik, Lucas January 2016 (has links)
This report investigates sustainable solutions for electricity and water savings in an urban neighbourhood consisting of a block of buildings in Sege Park, Malmö. The solutions were evaluated in terms of sharing, producing, recycling and saving. The proposed solution includes a solar panel system on the available rooftop area for electricity production. Recycling and water savings includes collecting rainwater and reusing greywater for daily water demand in terms of flushing toilets, laundry and irrigation. Energy savings are achieved by using heat exchangers for space and water heating. Results from simulations in MATLAB and Excel showed that the electricity production reached a coverage ratioof 20% of the yearly consumption with hourly matching. However, the block has an excess electricity production, a total of 17,400 kWh, that does not correlate with the demand. Water demand for flushing toilets, laundering and irrigation during an average day can be matched by the reuse of greywater alone. Collection of rainwater is not required, although possible. The amount of reusable water, 18,540 litres a day, can cover the greywater need for three blocks equivalent to the one investigated. The conclusion is that water demand can be covered by greywater but electricity demand is too high for self-sustainability, even with the best solar panels available today.

ROS- Relationer och Sexualitet : En granskning av ROS- policyn på uppdrag av Örebro kommun

Broman, Ellinor, Davidsson, Marcus January 2012 (has links)
Relationships and sexuality are among the basic needs of all human beings but this is something that is often overlooked by the social environment concerning for disabled people. The aim of the study was to examine how Örebro (Relations and sexuality) ROS-policy for treatment of the disabled people’s emotions, relationships and sexuality, applied in daily work at accommodation with special services within the administration for the disabled. The research questions in the essay were; how employees follow the ROS-policy, how can employees 'attitudes affect the disabled people’s opportunities for relationships and personal life. In order to obtain answers to the research questions qualitative interview were used to prevail exhaustive and detailed answers. Interviews were conducted with 11 individual respondents, selected through a purposive sampling through an educational activity developer. The result was interpreted and showed that Örebro municipality needs to inform, educate and support their employees furthermore before the ROS-policy could be more influential in the residential caring homes in order to ultimately increase the opportunities for disabled to live like everyone else.

Exergy Analysis at the Community Level: matching supply and demand of heat and electricity in residential buildings

Prandin, Mosè January 2010 (has links)
Most of the energy required by residential buildings is for low temperature heat. Often this demand is met by the use of high quality energy sources such as fossil fuels and electricity. The energy analysis alone does not take into account the quality of energy and so it hides the real potential for the so-called energy savings. Thus the concept of exergy must be involved. In particular the low-exergy approach shows that the energy with low exergy level has to be supplied with energy with similar exergy content. Consequently, the problem is shifted to find energy sources suitable for this purpose. The electricity can be exploited with low exergy losses with high-COP heat pumps. Instead the use of fossil fuels for thermal purposes should be avoided. One of the possibilities is the energy cascade. In this solution the energy flow is used several times, despite its quality decreases with each step, before being discharged into the environment. Thus the use of the district heating from cogeneration for the space heating seems to be an interesting choice. The issues connected to the cogeneration exploitation force to shift the boundary layers of the analysis from the building to the community level. In this work different solutions to meet the electricity and heat demands of a community of houses have been compared. The aim is to show that the results obtained from the low-ex approach allow an effective reduction of fuel consumption through a more rational use of the resources. The comparison was addressed initially in steady-state case and then with the use of the software HOMER also for the dynamic case. To achieve reliable results, this required that the annual profiles for thermal and electrical demand of the reference community are modelled to represent the actual loads as closely as possible. Finally, for each case taken into account, the total consumption, the energy and the exergy efficiencies have been calculated.

Efficient treatment of adolescents with behavioural problems

Kristoffersson, Marcus January 2010 (has links)
The purpose of this essay is to investigate which components previous scientific studies suggest that an efficient treatment for adolescents with behavioural problems should contain. For this purpose, an extensive review of scientific research conducted in Scandinavia has been read and will be presented in this essay. This essay also present an introduction to residential care in Sweden as well as to an alternative form of treatment for adolescents with behavioural problems called Multidimensional Treatment Foster Care (MTFC). The result of this essay suggest that treatment of adolescents with behavioural problems should be based on the emphasis of risk/resilience factors of the youth and that the treatment should be adapted to the youth’s individual personality and way of learning. Furthermore should the method of treatment be well incorporated within the staff and be based on methods proven effective by scientific research. Based on the scientific research previously conducted, one could argue that the MTFC treatment is more efficient when it comes to treatment of adolescents with behavioural problems than residential care due to the residential cares inconsistency in treatment methods.

I had some problems back home with a big group of people and it was not safe for me there anymore so I had to run away : How LGBT asylum seekers move

Östlund, Rosanna January 2016 (has links)
Due to the increased number of the amount of asylum-seekers that have migrated to Sweden lately, the topic has received increased attention. This has contributed to housing shortage and policy reforms for new migrants to arise in order to ensure that everybody gets housing. Asylum seekers often experience more difficult patterns to housing, and for LGBT asylum seekers especially since they are such a marginalised group in our society already. Housing is an important part in the initial settlement stage and good housing enables successful resettlement and that will help with the integration process. The aim of this thesis is to look at LGBT asylum seekers mobility and what constrains and opportunities they face in that process. To answer these questions qualitative method and semi-structured life story interviews have been performed with twelve LGBT asylum seekers. The result of these interviews has been presented around four different concepts that were factors contributing to their mobility. These four concepts that were found in the interviews was forced migration, homophobia, social network and freedom. These findings should be of interest for further studies in order for LGBT asylum seekers mobility patters to become more safe and secure.

Nájem bytu v bytovém domě / Lease of apartment in apartment building

Doseděl, František January 2018 (has links)
This thesis deals with selected institutes of legislation related to tenancy under recent Civil code No. 89/2012 Sb. With respect to a limited extend, the thesis focuses only on selected issues, such as definition of basic principles and concepts or unclear provisions. The thesis consists of 4 connected chapters, leading reader from past to present to gain historical and practical view on the matter First chapter is focused on legal history of lease of immovable since antiquity to nineties of last century. Second chapter covers basic principles and concepts of tenancy such as object of a lease (suitability of a rented space is now determined by agreement not by some official decision), parties of agreement, determination of rent (if it is not agreed in contract). This chapter also contains an explanation, why legal entity can not lease a flat for living and why a subsequent sublet is not a sublet but regular lease. Third chapter describes provisions considered unclear by professionals or laymen. These provisions contains new conception of surety, limits of making business or working in a flat without of consent of the landlord, receiving new members to the household (and of course definition of household) and sublet. This chapter also contains rules for maintaining order in a building. Provisions...

Mångfald som styrka : En kvalitativ studie om personalens upplevelser av utbildning, erfarenehter och färdigheter i relation till de krav de möter på HVB för ensamkommande barn. / Diversity as strength

Lindberg, Eva-Lotte, Musa, Samka January 2017 (has links)
The aim of this study is to create understanding for how employees perceive their skills at HVB in relation to their work with unaccompanied minors. The study is based on a qualitative method and were carried out with nine semi-structured interviews with staff from three different HVB. With the help of Bourdieu’s theoretical frame field, capital, and habitus we analyzed our materials. The study shows us among others that there is a lack of knowledge with the staff within the areas mental health and the pedagogic field. Furthermore, the result showed us that the staff experienced difficulties in how to refute the children’s needs. We find that the staff creates different strategies to cope with the children’s needs. Two prominent strategies emerged in our result. The staff contacted external help and took great support in the strength of the working group.
