"Jamen jag då" : Heterosexualitet och tvåsamhet i Gun-Britt Sundströms Maken

Ahlner, Thea January 2011 (has links)
This essay is investigating heterosexuality in Gun-Britt Sundströms Maken. With help from the queer theories of formost Judith Butler, but also to some extent the ideas of Michel Foucault, I have tried to answer the question of which norms are becoming clear and which are being broken in the novel. I have also looked at a few of Gayle Rubin’s opposites in her sexual value hierarchy. Some of the norms that are brought to light in the essay revolves around faithfulness, lust towards the ”right” person and for the ”right” reasons. I have shown that even though many of the norm’s that are being articulated in the novel are being crossed still they doesn’t lose their valaue and influence.

Application of anomaly detection techniques to astrophysical transients

Ramonyai, Malema Hendrick January 2021 (has links)
>Magister Scientiae - MSc / We are fast moving into an era where data will be the primary driving factor for discovering new unknown astronomical objects and also improving our understanding of the current rare astronomical objects. Wide field survey telescopes such as the Square Kilometer Array (SKA) and Vera C. Rubin observatory will be producing enormous amounts of data over short timescales. The Rubin observatory is expected to record ∼ 15 terabytes of data every night during its ten-year Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST), while the SKA will collect ∼100 petabytes of data per day. Fast, automated, and datadriven techniques, such as machine learning, are required to search for anomalies in these enormous datasets, as traditional techniques such as manual inspection will take months to fully exploit such datasets.

The Beautiful Boy, The Destroyer : Sexradikalers förhandlingar om tidskriften Destroyer – en intervjustudie om anständiga bögar, fula gubbar och sexualiserade barn

Kerstinsdotter, Reb January 2008 (has links)

Through the collection and analysis of negotiations surrounding the gay magazine Destroyer, the intention of this paper is to identify norms of sexuality within a contemporary sex-radical discourse. These negotiations are collected from interviews with individuals whom, at the time of the inter-view, consider themselves or their politics sex-radical. In order to allow for a more general under-standing of the context in which these negotiations have come about, material about Swedish law is also included in this text, together with the interview material, and serves as a base for analysis through the application of Gayle Rubin’s theory on the hierarchical value system of sexuality.

Following, are the main themes throughout the paper: The meaning of the context; Sexualized children; The possibility to (not) participate: differences of power; The decision whether or not to sell the publication and The position of the pedophile and crossgenerational love/sexuality within the LGBTQ community.

Key words: sex radicalism, pornography, boy-love, kiddy porn, pedophilia, Destroyer, Gayle Rubin.

It hurts so good : Normalitet och avvikelse med fokus på etnicitet och sexualitet i HBOs tv-serie True Blood

Tagesson, Stefanie January 2011 (has links)

"Nobody never gets to heaven, and nobody gets no land" : En nivåstudie av produktion, struktur, ensamhet och begär i John Steinbecks Of Mice and Men

Enström, Karl Jonas Elton January 2010 (has links)
My main purpose with this paper of John Steinbecks Of mice and men is to both analyze the long-lived structures and the unique individual destinies of the novel. I employ the method of the historical Annales-movement and use three divided levels in my analysis to try to capture these high structures and low moments of humanity in Structure, Konjuncture and the Individuality. The first level, Structure, is used to see how long-lived almost invisible geographic structures set the human act of condition. The second level, Konjuncture, is easier to grasp in understanding of time and embraces for example economic structures as the industrialism. The last level of Individuality is the fastest in time and easiest to understand but in the long run also the least important. Humans are controlled by structures and norms. I try to inspect what these three levels look like in Of Mice and Men and how they affect each other and the main characters of the novel. I make use of Foucault and Butler in the Konjuncture-level to explore how power, production and discourse create structures that affects the working man and the “non-working” woman in Of Mice and Men. I adopt Butler to see how Steinbeck creates gender through clothes and working tools. In the Indivual-level we can see the effects of the other levels in the characters actions. For example how their sexual preferences are effects of the power-structure of the production (Rubin and Foucault), how a society see images of filth or purity when someone differ from the norm (Douglas and Foucault) and how we sacrifice one member of the social group to contain stability when chaos threatens (Girard).
