The doctoral thesis is devoted to analyzing the perception of attractiveness of Poland as a tourism space from the perspective of Czech citizens in a broader context of mutual Czech -Polish relations in tourism. The thesis is primarily based on theoretical concepts of geography of tourism and at the same time it also follows other geographical and scientific disciplines. The methodological framework of the thesis benefits from the openness and multi-disciplinary nature of tourism. Part of the thesis was created using traditional methods and techniques applied in geography, among others: questionnaire research among students, structured interviews with employees of travel agencies, semi-structured interviews with representatives of the Polish governmental institutions, and analyses of the Internet and printed sources. Additionally, there were utilized methods and techniques used more frequently in other disciplines, including: Delphi method, SWOT analysis, mystery shopping, analysis of travelogues, Internet sources of information about Poland, and content of textbooks. The empirical part of the thesis serves to realize four main aims. The main objective of this diploma thesis is to analyse the tourism safety situation and the CzechTourism hypothesis: "Czech Republic is a safe destination" for a visit. It is focused on tourism safety and security questions and its main forms, various international safety analysis and reports with emphasis on the situation in Czech Republic. The study of CzechTourism is analysed by means of a direct survey among foreigners and its results lead to the potential development of tourism safety situation in Czech Republic. Finally, the evolution of a situation in Czech Republic is observed according to the different tourism and peace indicators and the direct dependence "safe country / number of arrivals" is investigated.

As the output of the thesis is recomended to set a position of destination manager in Hluboka nad Vltavou, a position of project manager in Trhove Sviny and another minor remedies headed towards tourism develoment in Trhové Sviny.

This diploma thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part itself is divided into four chapters which focus on the issues of tourism and marketing. The theory was clarified with the use of various reference books. The practical part focuses first of all on the demarcation of the discussed area of the region of Pelhřimov. Then a profile of a visitor was emerged of the survey results. On the basis of the region's primary and secondary offerings analysis, a SWOT analysis of the discussed region has been made. Furthermore, a thorough strong and weak points analysis of the sport-recreation services has been made, which together with the survey results contributed to a proposal for modernization and potential accomplishing of the supporting infrastructure for the leisure time spending in which particular destination.

The main aim of the thesis is to analyze the current development potential in tourism of the Votice town and then propose possible measures and initiatives to improve the utilization of this potential. First it was made an situation analysis of the town and its neighbourhood. It was found the main characteristics of this area (for example geographic, economic or demographic characteristics) including analysis of the services. Then it was conducted some interviews with the important persons. It was proposed several possible projects to improve the current situation. It´s really important, that here the principles of partnership work. Votice as a member of Mikroregion Džbány should cooperate with the other communities and companies. The other problem is a little awareness of local people about the new projects.
